vlad1966
Nuhi, tried all of the above. No Joy.It now gives the popup box when I start the program where it wants youto install the WIM filter.I'm stuck in a check/egg scenario. If I follow the directions again and install the WIM filter/files, I'm sure I'd get that error message again. Alex
Hi,Can You update vlite to work with sony.wim?Using vlite I ended with 717 mb perfectly tuned install.wim! But I see You are not going to stop here!Do not want to go accross Your way, Nuhi, but maybe it is worthy to help others to get full advantage of OEM disks? Could You think how we/you could organise that using this or other thread?I will pm You later, now on holidays...vLite really let's you get incredible performance, presumably only from Sony OEM files.Thank You very much for developing vlite!Alex<WIM><TOTALBYTES>3139716044</TOTALBYTES><IMAGE INDEX="1"><DIRCOUNT>8502</DIRCOUNT><FILECOUNT>45986</FILECOUNT><TOTALBYTES>10046841989</TOTALBYTES><CREATIONTIME><HIGHPART>0x01C835EB</HIGHPART><LOWPART>0xC2766B0B</LOWPART></CREATIONTIME><LASTMODIFICATIONTIME><HIGHPART>0x01C8A404</HIGHPART><LOWPART>0x440681EC</LOWPART></LASTMODIFICATIONTIME><DESCRIPTION>FOUNDATION IMAGE</DESCRIPTION><BLID>0000019290</BLID><NAME>Sony</NAME></IMAGE></WIM>
MagicAndre1981
sorry this is not possible. The OEMs create their own images after customizing the Vista editions in Audit Mode. Get a clean MS DVD and retry it with the clean source.
Alex
@MagicAndre1981Pls do not reply for Nuhi. Glad You know about audit mode, but You are wrong...No limits for Nuhi, and he proved that already. How do You think I made my install wim with previous version of vlite?Alex
Tomorrow
@MagicAndre1981Pls do not reply for Nuhi. Glad You know about audit mode, but You are wrong...No limits for Nuhi, and he proved that already. How do You think I made my install wim with previous version of vlite?AlexYou cant possibly be asking Nuhi to remake vLite to support every half-baked OEM image? .Cus thats just plain silly and unthinkable .vLite is for Clean images only.Nuhi cant be held resposible if vLite doesent work with custom OEM images . Alex
@TomorrowMan, You do not need to remake vlite for that.half-baked OEM image?Tuned for the exact model and vlited works much better than vlited clean image. Can confirm that ONLY for Sony. No generalizations here.thats just plain silly and unthinkable .Really looks silly when You cannot think of it and try it.vLite is for Clean images onlyAre You the author of the program to decide?@ricktendo64Make your own pre activated sony OEM disk dudeAre You speaking with yourself or what, great advisor? Do You copy?Alex
Legolash2o
on the vLite homepage it says "And includes a long avaited Services Configuration." shouldn't it say awaited instead of avaited?
almosthuman
For anyone else having the BadImage error in vLite under Vista x64 like I was, remember to copy wimgapi.dll from the x86 and not the x64 version of wimfilter, should fix everything right up, or at least it did for me. A30N
Different OEM's modify Vista in different ways...from personal experience, the Lenovo Recovery DVD that came with my laptop is fully compatible with vLite. I've even integrated SP1, with no errors on install or in any of the administrative logs. Anyone else with an OEM Recovery DVD please post your results to avoid other people from engaging in meaningless hypothetical arguments.
