August 3, 200719 yr reg fix doesn't work for me I can move/rename files, but not folders (vista x64 ultimate).
August 3, 200719 yr silenec, you do realize that this is not just vLite issue?I recommend reinstall on Monday when new vLite is out, and think twice will you install that hotfix before it's officially out.
August 3, 200719 yr little offtopic:integrate hotfix with vista update integrator then used vlite to slim vista ultimate x64, works fine...
August 4, 200719 yr i'm running x64 ultimate here, and the fix works for me and just so it's clear, is the problem fixed by integrating the hotfixes first, then running vlite on it? even if i remove a few of the components listed previously?
August 4, 200719 yr @ joll69: Yes, if you integrate the beta hotfix first and then remove components with vLite, Vista should work. That was the solution for me before nuhi gave us the .reg fix.
August 5, 200719 yr cheers nuhiyour da man, naturally i find this fix after i reinstall windows, yes the problem re-occured after i installed THESE updatesit is the updates stopping you rename etc etcbut it did go away with that reg file =)yipeeee
August 5, 200719 yr I got windows vista 32 bit and i did not do any hot fixes beta etc and i got the same issue i can not rename it gives me the error as the topic creator showed.how can i fix this can some one please explain the steps to me THANKS!
August 5, 200719 yr do i need to apply one of those reg files?if so which ne et me know asap thanks.i hate having to go to a different pc then sending my folders named there into a zip to my main pc lol
August 5, 200719 yr when i try to double click it the reg file opens in note pad, when i go to the registry program that registers the reg file in the system 32 i get a error about checking my system for it being compatible with the windows i am running
August 5, 200719 yr Extract it to a specific location, lets say C:\then go Start - Run (or Win+R) - type:regedit c:\fd.regor whatever the reg file name was. It should popup something about merging.
August 5, 200719 yr the problem has been fixed and will be released on the new version on vLite on tomorrow(monday), it says this information on vlite homepage. If you integrate the hotfix it works fine on x86 and x64. Just wait until tomorrow Edited August 5, 200719 yr by nuhi
