Run Command for Delete Browsing History Internet Explorer 7
I do not know, but you could use CCleaner cmd: "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe" /auto

Multimedia - ActiveX for streaming video - need more info on it.
If WMP & activeX is removed, WMP Lite can be used to play streaming in IE, FF or O.

[1.2.1] no option to disable DCOM any more? why?
As far as I know, it is not possible to disable DCOM since 1.2. However I rememeber, that it was possible to disable it in 1.0.1. Maybe the tweak just got lost somewhere, when nLite was updated.

Click on link does not work [SOLVED]
Hi, I have just removed IE, because I moved to Firefox and when I click on the link in the POP Peeper (email manager), nothing happens, it just blinks. My nLite config. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/281679 - I tried this, did not help (have all except Shdocvw.dll). I am sure, that I miss some DLLs, I just do not know which, so I can not get them. Help me please.

Removing Internet Explorer Core
I would say that Firefox uses IE shell, because I saw process firefox.exe running, but no Firefox window, nor no error messages appeared. When I added only IE core to the next session, Firefox started without problems.

Removing Internet Explorer Core
Since version 2.3 Comodo does not need IE, neither IE core. But other software do, eg Firefox will not run without IE core.

Suggestion for future version
Yeah Framework Lite works great. When I finish with nLite, I remove nLite folder.

Dcom Service
It is normal, some software use this service, eg Windows Defragmenter, MSI Installers. It is also used as a launcher of some programs, so I would not recommend to disable it. I have this service disabled as well (for security reason) and I enable it only when needed.

which 5 components are needed for IE7 compatibility?
When AU service is removed with nLite, IE7 will not instal after WinXP setup. AU service can not be removed, when IE7 is integrated, nLite denies it itself. I guess, that IE uses windows update manager to instal, but neither I do not understand, why it is required for IE7 in order to run it. I would like to know too, maybe some functions, I am not aware of, will not work.

Yes, Automatic Updates service is needed. When I removed it and then tried to install IE7, it just did not instal. I also hate everything auto, so I hate this service as well, since I download updates manually. I tried to remove WU files from System32 after installing everything, but when reg cleaner finished its job, IE7 even did not run.

Those 5 bad things. Network: Internet Explorer Operating System Options: IE Core, Logon Notification Services: Automatic Updates & System Event Notification But I have no idea, why nLite wants to keep SENS & Logon API? I allways removed those 2, then installed IE7 and it worked fine.

[(cosmetic) BUG in 1.2.1] double entry in boot.ini re /noexecute
I would say, that DEP is enabled, unless that line is removed manually.

[BUG in 1.2.1] DHCP Client service depends on NetBT unneccesarily
tsk you spared my time, I do not have to enable NB, when my IP changes, Thanks.

Keyboard Layout
I found the solution, I have to check this (unchecked by default):

[BUG in 1.2.1] DHCP Client service depends on NetBT unneccesarily
NLite just disables NetBIOS, I do not know if is a bug or a setting. I can not start DHCP neither when NetBIOS is disabled with nLite, but I set up my IP manually, however when my IP changes, I use WWDC to enable and disable NtB.

WMP 11 final
It works fine for me, activeX, streaming radio, movies. My nLite config. BTW, radio lags too much via MPC and activex looks better via WMP11.
-
WMP 11 final
If you want just barebone WMP11 - unpack WMP installer - integrate those 2 files with nLite: "wmp11.exe" and "wmfdist11.exe" - after WinXP setup - start WMP - Validate and it is done.

What is your favorite Anti-Malware application?
A Combination: IE (anti-mallware setup) + CCleaner (clears TIF and Temp) + GMER + HijackThis + MWAV Free (to scan downloads) + nLite XP SP2 (no WinUpdates needed). Using system account, browsing any pages I want without fear, no virus for 3 years.

Keyboard Layout Problem
I can not add my keyboard to work (screen), I suspect that it is due to nLite. When I created nLite with IE7 integrated, I could not setup layout after instalation. When I created nLite without IE7 I was able to set it up, but after installing IE7, no. So it looks to me, that this problem is related to IE7 and maybe some missing files? Maybe nLite removes some files, which are needed by the layout? My current config. I created nLite setup with my keyboard, but I need EN as well, I have to use ASCII. I posted this on nLite forum too, but maybe it is IE7 issue, not nLite, so I post it here.

My current methodology for malware prevention
Using HOSTS file can slow down connection, make sure, you will test it. Lock down IE as much as possible, if other browser is used instead of it. I do not use any AntiApp, so I recommend, what I consider to be "the best": AV: Avira (you can also consider AVS, AVG is easy-to-use, but has low detection) AS: Spyware Terminator (low detection, but much better than Windows Defender) Firewall: Comodo, Kerio or Zone Alarm (depends on the user, GUI, functions, etc) OnDemand: CureIt (downloadable, it does not install, so it will not conflict with AV) Ewido is great AntiTrojan, but too weak AntiSpyware, as well as AdAware & Spybot. I would pick SuperAntispyware instead of AA & S, it got good detection and nice GUI.

nLite final, will it ever be final?
LoL. How to dare to ask such a question in the nLite forum. nLite is the best known software to optimize and secure WinXP. Just in case, that you really do not know, look on the nLite webpage.

How is possible to substitute completely Windows Media Player?
I was trying to find out this for months, but so far I have no clue how to do it. Online TVs need WMP, although I would rather use VideoLAN along with MPC.

IE7
No you can not. You can use Quick Tabs or Tab List instead.
