  1. - Dont install VMware tools in the first place, create a ISO of you programs and mount it in VMware to get acces to them - Add your regtweaks while in sysprep, you can also mount and add it offline but why bother when you can add it while in sysprep - VMware tools is a MSI installer and will only be listed if you use /Get-Apps (you cannot uninstall it offline)
  2. The drive letter does not matter, whatever Windows 7 partition you boot to is always C:\
  3. Look at the tutorial I link to (only works for Ultimate) showing how you can dual boot/install to a vhd on your physical machine, you dont need VMware you can install to a vhd on your HDD and mount and do what you want Remember you will have to generalize each time before you capture your image http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1175447.htm
  4. VHD like a HDD can have different partitions, so when you mount a single VHD you may get two new drive letters (one boot, one OS) If no formatted partitions currently exist on the VHD/VMDK and you let Windows 7 handle the partitioning it will create the boot partition (this is the case with VMware) If you install to a VHD you create and mount with DISKPART on your physical machine (only works with Win7 Ultimate) then the boot partition is not created
  5. If you care about the uninstall entry to look like the original you will also add these to the Setup section AppPublisherURL=http://www.vso-software.fr AppSupportURL=http://www.vso-software.fr AppUpdatesURL=http://www.vso-software.fr UninstallDisplayIcon={app}\ConvertXtoDvd.exe
  6. I dont know the official status of Universal Extractor but I can say another guy has updated it with some fixes and features (the best is automatic updates) http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8201
  7. You can preinstall apps, install updates/hotfixes that cant be installed offline (example KB890830) and tweak to your hearts content Check my sig I have a video I made and links to some other official Microsoft OPK videos
  8. This update is intetionally blocked from integration, you have to install it online or during sysprep Processing 1 of 1 - Package_for_KB2533552: The specified package cannot be added to an offline image. Add this package to a running operating system using the /Online option. Error: 0x800f082e
  9. You are not the only one
  10. Is it possible to do the installation progress in the Windows 7 superbar?
  11. /get-packages you will get a list of packages unhidden and /remove-package /packagename: will remove it
  12. My guess is you have to patch uxtheme then hex edit aero.msstyles to accomplish this
  13. In dependencies add the condition isUserName("Your_User_Name") This way when you run WPI only the user specified in the condition will get the option to install this specific program, if you both share a program then you can leave that one blank
  14. Huh! May have to revise some information. Win7 Users want to put a final confirmation on this? (p.s. First time I heard this phrased this way and didn't even consider the post-SP functionality.) Google it
  15. Only in the case of integrating a service pack and that is not nLites problem, because MS recommends you NOT to integrate a service pack under vista/7 (see KB950722) For years Ive used nLite to integrate my Spanish updatepack & addons in XP in a windows 7 x64 environment and have ZER0 problems
  16. nLite will not process Windows 7 install files, but it does run and process XP install files just fine on Windows 7 (any OS with .NET framework 2 should be fine)
  17. Windows 7 setup stages, what do they each mean?
  18. There are a couple XP Windows 7 themes on deviantART, search for "Luna theme Windows 7" and you should get some gr8 results. Here are a couple XP theme: http://satukoro.deviantart.com/art/Luna-port-to-Windows-7-Aero-136960235 (he also has royale and metalic) XP logon: http://marrussa.deviantart.com/art/XP-theme-for-Windows-7-logon-151494769
  19. Because ResetWMI is more likely to fix the problem as opposed to the script which does not I have asked the author to see about adding a fix for this error into his tool (if it does not already fix it, I cant test to see because I already ran the stupid script)
  20. If you want to test if its working try running a program like regedit, msconfig, taskmgr, etc see if it opens (and manually close it)
  21. One last thing you can try is turning on "Always install device drivers from Windows Update" and try updating your driver online in the device manager
  22. I found a driver that might work http://www.apache-micro.com/driver/DialupModems/A56SP-RS.RAR XP driver should work on Vista/7 but there is none...try any of the others see if they install Right click the driver in the device manage and click update driver software...then browse for the extracted folder root with all the sub folders and see which (if any) installs
  23. Its a longshot but try ResetWMI by Kai Liu Info: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5285 Download: http://code.kliu.org/misc/resetwmi/ Launch resetwmi.exe (leave it where you launched it from), reboot and next boot it will do its thing
  24. Thats why God invented PM's
  25. The only site I can find your driver on is the one hosting that INF, but you have to register/pay to dl it http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=108456&action=filfo Have you tried any driver update programs? Try SlimDrivers and DriverMax (both FREE) see if they can help
