  1. Funny how this post topic is becoming popular ever since Tech TV answered this in their show. Just set the screen resolution in whatever profile/identity you have and that's it.
  2. Sonds like its time for a reformat like XPerties said.
  3. System restore only restores Windows System Files and nothing else, so some programs will be useless depending on how far back you created a restore point.
  4. This is what I do. Open just 1 IE page, click on the "restore down" button so that it is only half the size of a full page. Manually resize it to fill the whole page, top, bottom, sides. Then close it. The next time you click to open another page it is almost full page, save for a few millimeters. Another way of opening a new window is instead of right-clicking then choosing open in new window, just press Shift while clicking on the link, it'll open another window.

  6. Actually there is an Office 2001, it's for the Mac. OS.
  7. Dude go to google, type motorolla modem drivers. I was able to install windows 2000 drivers for my friends sm56 modem. Works fine in XP.
  8. Why did my post go on top of his, instead of under?
  9. Try looking at Internet Options, Connections, LAN SEttings, try checking/unchecking the Automatically Detect Settings tab.
  10. I guess everyone here who doesn't turn off their PC's are running Windows XP?
  11. That tweak is also an option in Tweak-XP. The maximum number of connections is set to 5, supposedly more will fail.

    Moving Files

Were you "dragging" the file to another location? The only thing I can think of is to cut and paste.
  13. Windows 2000 doesn't have msconfig. It's avilable in XP.
  14. I don't think it will affect how you connect, I had the same problem too ever since Windows 2000. I only came about the fix when I switched to XP. When you log-on to your DSL you get a different set of IP Address assigned by your provider. Try it, you can always remove the address if it doesn't work anyways.
  15. Hi XPerties, Conan here from Peppy's Forum. If you're not part of a network you can try this fix. You need to put a dummy IP Address for Windows to boot up faster. Double-click TCP-IP in your LAN card properties. Enter the following IP Address: 10.255.255.10 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 Then re-boot. Hope this solves your problem.
