  1. What is the purpose for including the winre.wim in your download? Provide the files needed, and include instructions on how to put your files in the WIM, as I have done in my HTA thread in my signature. You are not allowed to redistribute the winre.wim. Also you cannot redistribute imagex.exe. I came across this after I saw it being extracted but couldn't find it. 2. Well that is a start. Are you sure it is the NIC driver? What kind of results are in the log files?
  3. You need to add ProductKey to Windows-Shell-Setup in Specialize pass. Read about it here.
  4. You could easily lock a Vista install DVD to one edition only by using an AutoUnattend.xml.
  5. You need to edit the BCD, which is what Vista uses to know where the OS volume is.
  6. Can you please PM me your IP address when you are not using a proxy?
  7. This is a two-way argument. On the one side, you are correct to complain you have these products that need legacy ports (serial, parallel, uart or PS2) and modern boards are dropping them. Then the other side says that these technologies have been replaced by USB (and in some cases Firewire) and you should be upgrading your products. The main problem is that there are so many products still floating around, especially in the POS market. Some company (SiiG, Lava, maybe Promise) make adapter cards (PCI and PCI-E 1x) for Serial and Parallel. Not seen much UART or PS2 type things tho. Unfortunately, most of these ports were (in the manufacturer's eyes) driven by standard input devices like keyboards and mice. Its tough to find a new keyboard or mouse that supports PS2, if anything it at least comes with a USB adapter. Moving to Hardware Hangout.
  8. I'm not sure if it is clear on the linked page, but you can get any tool to appear as the 6th option on the Recovery app from here: Customizing the Windows RE Experience
  9. I have created an XP / WinPE dual boot by using Terrabyte Unlimited's MBR.EXE program to launch WinPE. It is mentioned here:
  10. All images must be generalized (use sysprep) before capture.
  11. I'm listening to music someone else grew up with... Bob Dylan - Golden Loom
  12. Unlike my last post, I had lost since blown away the Wiki on my site. It wasn't very fun. I decided to re-upload my old site. After correcting a bunch of problems with it and changing the CSS a bit, Is back up to being something neat to me. I've only spent a couple days on it so far and still have a bunch of work to do. I haven't tackled the content so much at this point. The old content is still there, and I am already working up plans to slim down or streamline what content I have on there. There may be some color tweaks left to do, and still need to figure out what to do with the section that has the Megatron quote. http://tripredacus.net/ I am also trying to figure out a better way to do the links page... I also get to dream up some new designs for HLC section up top but no hints yet.
  13. A lot of those older games show up on Abandonware sites. I've found a few old games on those types of sites.
  14. have you downloaded the WAIK already? There is some in the WAIK user guide, which is mirrored on TechNet: Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK) User's Guide
  15. Similar to Server 2008, Windows 7 requires you to not only set Share permissions but also NTFS permissions in order to view the files. Normally you should be able to see what is inside of the folder IF you can open it. The only thing I can think of is the Advanced Permission option to allow/deny List Folder Contents.
  16. Any time your bridge or team network interfaces, the "bridge" is the one that reports its online status. As long as you are able to get online and do the sharing, you can ignore what the old connections say in Network Connections.
  17. If you have no other drivers or software to install, you do not need to deploy the image into Audit Mode.
  18. It used to be that sending people black faxes would just use up their ink and cause them to tear their hair out. Now its bad for the environment?
  19. Macromedia Shockwave was the precursor to Flash back in the olden days. It was originally made so that people could make animated movies in Macromedia Director and publish them to a web page. Flash was an upgrade that allowed greater user interactivity, especially with ActionScript. I'm not too sure what Adobe Air is tho.
  20. everyone should use the magic printers

  21. first the "lol probloms" is a memory of a past user... You shouldn't be activating in Audit mode, as Sysprep resets activation. Listed as a benefit of sysprep. I'm not certain of a way to activate in Audit Mode. The systems I work with are activated in Audit Mode but sysprep still resets the activation. Anyways, never had a reason to activate Disty Windows since it is not allowed per the license I am bound by. MSFN isn't meant to be anyone's personal storage. Even us staff have unlimited space for uploads I think, but I do not upload anything large here, because web space takes more money and potential to slow the forum down. You should check out Microsoft Live SkyDrive. I don't know a link to go to set one up, but here is the link to mine. I'm sure there is a way to set them up that way. What specifically do you need to upload?
  22. The downloading of an OS isn't about whether or not you have a COA or license. Its more related to a product that is only legally available from one source. As everyone breaks their Windows EULA by modifying their OS, but even more so by redistributing it outside of official channels.
  23. ok it can be spring as soon as possible please

  24. Spanish was originally removed by someone else, with note to read forum rules. I removed the Spanish again. In addition, you cannot redist portions of the WAIK as you cannot transfer its license. Changed link to MS download of the WAIK: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=696dd665-9f76-4177-a811-39c26d3b3b34&displaylang=en
  25. You could try searching the stock INFs for the Hardware ID of the NIC. When you find that file you can remove it, change its extension or move it to another folder. Have you tried injecting the newer driver into your install image?
