  1. Ok I dropped the \ from mine and it did work so corrected above. It didn't with the .dl_ because it errors out and don't expand. Are you saying it will set the keys itself now? with the Register option
  2. That real preview is awesome, excellent work. You said VB, what version you doing? I do my own app in VB6
  3. hmm might take me a bit to get the right click going on it and update the reg. Should have worked with the \"%1\"
  4. In case you've missed this little tool for editing WINNTBBU.DLL(setup Screen) and others to follow. He's just getting started on it but it is definitely a must have tool. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=50166&st=0
  5. That wasn't my file I created. Mine don't do that.
  6. Ok but those are Not editable fields right now according to the readme I have them all in same folder when I'm messing with them. @TheMadGuy I found that after copying to my %windir%\System32 I no longer get that Error 9. I created a right click on .dll and .dl_ to just open the WinntbbuED Editor but can't make it open the file I'm right clicking on. Are there any commandline switches? Maybe later on as its in its early day's. EDIT: Some get the error and some don't.
  7. When I open one of my .dll's it does display in English, I would think your language. @TheMadGuy I don't get an error if I open a WINNTBBU.DLL without a picture already.
  8. Sure, this is actually one I d/l from here and the pic has been changed already. I did try it on several more I have and get the same subscript out of range http://www.maxxpsoft.com/uploads/Chrisitina.rar Should it not have a pic already or is it possible to change again. Well you can test with that one, maybe run in debug.. BTW someone else i know that pointed me to this has same problem.
  9. Really nice excellent utility and much needed. Keep up the good work. I get errors trying to edit picture Runtime error 9 Subscript out of range But everything else seems to be working.
  10. I've never got that much into removing the sub folders cause I place all my files elsewhere and this My Docs junk seems to be for the totally NOOB. I do several of the things you do IE: unregister mydocs.dll and then point everything elsewhere as it happens and have to do that on each Unattend and it is annoying. nuhi may have some insight into this cause I haven't studied it yet running through the .inf/sif and things because I've been looking at the bigger picture. Perhap's theres a way to do away with them from the beginning which would be nice. Doing a search on My Music returns only 10 keys in the reg Looking at them we see we don't need the ones with the SID as they are Temporary untill a normal shutdown which adds the temp stuff into the appropriate place but deleting them will also make sure they not entered.. [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-19\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders] "My Music"="" Might take some experimenting which as I have found in the past occasionally render's you unable to boot. I wouldn't think these keys wouldn't matter though because they don't really exist till you actualy shutdown. If you've used my Jump2Reg then do a search on each Sub folder and you'll see what I'm talking about. I am pretty positive we can't touch the actual My Docs and Settings folder
  11. I'm sure you need to be testing aginst the Sata for the Install if its installing to that and it will need drivers Yes I have another answer maybe you or others don't want to hear, I work on building an application for XP Unattend. Been doing this for nearly 2 years and the very biggest thing I've discovered. VM Sucks Once you get it working for that theres is a chance it won't with a real life Burn. Been there done that countless times till I finaly gave it up(VM) I now burn to CD-RW/DVD-RW and test on a second partition or even another hard drive changeing and experimenting till I get it right. I do know once I have what I want it will work for a real situation. No Questions...
  12. Best yet, have Nero and UltraISO installed and double click the ISO to use UltraISO to burn the ISO Image. UltraISO will use the Nero burning api but who cares. I do this probably minimum 5 times a week with new images in my tests.
  13. @MOONLIGHT SONATA Ask me anything over there and I'll answer more freely. I'm not that good at batch but do know it from the early day's. Using that help file does help though, although a few things are not right with it and those things you have to discover on your own. Like upper case lower case makes a difference occasionally. /F /f
  14. Could be if something was made to run at DetachedProgram but current things won't work that early on. That may be soon enough cause on error it deletes the xpsrm? dir immediately @Moon been meaning to get to testing this but have a boatload of other stuff I'm working on for my UnattendXP app but will hopefully get to it soon.
  15. In winnt.sif do you have ProductKey or ProductID in [userData] section? XP has updated to use the ProductKey entry, I'm not sure about 2000 but i think it uses the ProductID. Those pics are saying your command line is wrong for that. Scripten uses /Q:A /R:N or at least for the XP version. They are probably the same.
  16. MOONLIGHT SONATA Good work and it is interesting. I been following this but everything all in one place is much better since these posts go up and down sometimes. Hopefully I will test this on my next test run later today.
  17. scheduled task You'd have to export that from C:\WINDOWS\Tasks to $OEM$\$$\Tasks and maybe call a Document or your form. Setting the user it will run under though may be a bit tricky. Just require some testing. Yep HP DEll, those were the ones I was referring to as I've tried their machines in the past. They call an exe from the Run key. I've also seen them add something to Startup folder.
  18. You're right about the .Net and a tool do need updating. I allways Install the Net very first thing since we'll be seeing more app's needing them. Sort of like reading/writing to xml, gonna need that more and more also with Longhorn coming whenever.
  19. Not here but my Longhorn clock gets messed up so I went back. I like that longhorn clock better than the Royal
  20. You could load a key to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and call a batch file would check date and if its correct then pop the screen. That would run each time the PC is booted and if you can imagine the possibility of error's in this are quite large. BTW: One of the first key's I do a clean and delete on when I used to purchase a pre-built so now I build my own. Pick up the tele and call them, might be easier and less intrusive. ET phone home if you know what I mean.
