If you don't find a silent switch, Install the app and copy it over to "$OEM$\$Progs\" to have it in your "C:\Program Files" directory after a re-install. Or make an SFX archive (winrar/winace) to silently extract itself to the %programfiles% path. And then do this to copy the link to the right place: copy %systemdrive%\install\myappshortcut.lnk "%AllUsersProfile%\Start Menu\Programs"

What is the switch of UltraISO V7.2 ME
prathapml replied to yazanaswad's topic in Application Installs
You did not search sufficiently - here is the switch: It can be installed silently like this: uiso7_en.exe /VERYSILENT /SP- -
Yes, XPlode supports the ampersand character. Since months, I've had text in the "display" string that use it, like: display='Preparing & Installing Windows XP Hotfixes for IE/OE/IIS' The above was an example taken from my XPlode 1.00's xml - I don't know if the latest version (which only supports unicode) has any changes to that.

Changing Program Files Partition
prathapml replied to komakala's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Question 1: either do the partitioning manually yourself (with Partition Magic or Fdisk). [of course set Autopartition=0 in winnt.sif] ---- or ---- convert your CD to use the WinPE loader, and automate it to run a diskpart script and the setup after that. Question 2: Locating the Program Files folder --------> Dustinwmew has already answered this. @ yadzil Yes, there's nothing you can do about the default behaviour (except to use installer switches, or use MST transforms for MSI's).Wraith's recommended procedure is interesting, but as he admits, it is not automatable Question 3: On WinXP pro, do this to silently set your pagefile: cscript //nologo //B //T:600 %systemroot%\system32\pagefileconfig.vbs /change /I 2 /M 2 /VO * cscript //nologo //B //T:600 %systemroot%\system32\pagefileconfig.vbs /Create /I 2048 /M 2048 /VO D: It is recommended to not completely eliminate a pagefile from your SystemDrive (i.e., the C: drive). Look here (in tweak no.17 on the page) for more details. -
Hey, weren't we using the mozilla 1.7's "setup.exe" ? And isn't firefox 0.9 based on moz 1.7 ? therefore, isn't the moz 1.7 installer included with ff 0.9 win32 ? So there should be no problems for unattending it, right? Dudes, tell me if the above inferences are right - and if unattending firefox/thunderbird has really become simple enough as to be done by me (until now, I was just copying the installed folder over).

DOUBLE-POSTING !!!!!! bad boy, eh? And, yes, office 2k3 shrink works fine with winxp.

Office 2003 on second CD-Rom
prathapml replied to The Black Cloud's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
That thread is pretty understandable, if only you'd have the will to take the time to apply it. @[bM]Crusher Hey, me too man. Same here. There's no need for a 2nd CD at all (or a DVD for that matter). -
Administrator Account Disabled & Creating Users
prathapml replied to michmantim's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
What you want is pretty easy to do actually. Maybe you forgot about the "Search" function in the forums? Do read these topic threads carefully (in this order, do not let the off-topic name of the threads mislead you): 1. oobeinfo.ini usage 2. creating a user account with no password 3. net user error of some sort 4. uninterrupted install XP 5. Automatic Logon If possible, please post back whether it worked or not, and if not, what other technique solved your requirement. -
Just FYI, the Real and QT alternative codecs will work only with MPC. So, SiMoNsAyS, what you want may be impossible (for some time atleast). Why do that at all? looks like a waste of time to me......
-
[bM]Crusher's question is what I would ask as well. Also, is the install source for o2k3 uncorrupted? Please note that double-posting, as you have done (posting the same topic in two threads) is not a polite thing to do.

Find out here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/ That's the home page for MPC. Get the pure player alone from there, let the real/QT codecs R-I-P.

Installing Norton Antivirus on Win2k3?

Installing Norton Antivirus on Win2k3?
prathapml replied to ProdigySim's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Hey, let's catch-up with you !! I take it that you are referring to the version number shown in NAV's "About" box. NAV 9.x corresponds to NAV 2003 - NAV2k4 is ver.10 But then, it is not that one we were talking about. The post was about "Symantec" (not "Norton") AV Corp. edition which just happens to have the latest ver. at v8.1 (released in Feb.2004, which makes it newer than NAV2k4). As for you ProdigySim, while I do want to help out, I don't want to be accused of trying to crack things. The registry keys below were taken from a WinXP SP2 RC1 desktop. All I can say is - for your objective, these should be interesting. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion] "SubVersionNumber"="" "ProductName"="Microsoft Windows XP" "CurrentVersion"="5.1" "CurrentBuildNumber"="2600" "BuildLab"="2600.xpsp_sp2_rc1.040311-2315" "CSDVersion"="Service Pack 2, v.2096" "CSDBuildNumber"="2096" Play around with these, and !BAM! enjoy the sweet taste of success. There's cracking tools available out there which will change your WS2k3 to a non-server plain win2k3, but you need to re-activate after that (which will not take place without some hacking). So those complex possibilities are there if the above info isn't helpful enough. -
Thanx for the list. But is that really all you need? Are you sure?

Nowadays Xbox support by games is coming thick and fast. PS2 is no longer content king. drewdatrip (above) has said most of whatever else I wanted to say. As for online support for Xbox, though it is a paid-for service, it's of a good quality - and lots of newer games support the XSN (online service for Xbox).
-
But I don't like Mozilla the monolithic browser-cum-email, WAAAAHHH!!!!! And I'm sure even "The only problem" will be solved soon.
-
@GM sorry for repeating this, but STILL: I'm sure I don't want to bother downloading this sick thing again, 'cos I already have cleaned it of unnecessary files, and have the latest version anyway (IE6 SP1). And this one is still an out-standing request- ANNOUNCEMENT: Calling all the super-heroes who managed to slipstream dX9 and WMP9 into winxp SP1 to somehow give us a solution to this problem as well.

prathapml replied to Dustinwmew's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Yup! .inf? Then there's only 1 place ya need to turn to - gosh!!!!! -
Hey Alanoll,996 & Bashrat! carry on with the good work. Looks like we are just 2 days of discussions away from *FORCING* this beast (moz installer) to work for us. My wishes are with you

Doggie (above) sums up the situation nicely. Go for an Xbox - period (now this is my opinion speaking).

/me happens to be in the "16-20" age group, and we seem to rule (if not MSFN) the poll center at least (look at the poll results).
