I've run into this error myself. The cause was ffdshow or something or other installed with KLite Mega. I've since did a minimal install of KLITE and no more errors. So it could be a codec. or not.

Why don't you slipstream using Bashrat the Sneaky's MassStorage drivers? BTS Drivers Page You don't need to slipstream all the packs. Just make sure to download the base and massstorage pack and slipstream AFTER NLite.

@crystalxp I couldn't help but notice your use of 1365VidChng.exe. I myself use this handy utility, but you must also understand that it must be in the 8.3 format to work properly. I myself call it from GUIRunOnce in winnt.sif: [GUIRunOnce] command5 = "VidChng.exe 1024x768x32@60 -q" command6 = "%SystemDrive%\D\BTS_DPs_finish.cmd" I also have been having trouble with the billboard and about the best advice I can give is to resize the background and reload it. The larger the size the better as the background will shrink (not enlarge) to fit the screen. Oh...and also make sure you're installing from SP2. Previous windows packs are known to resize the screen (resulting in that wierd "picture in picture" effect) depending on your video card. Let me know how that works out for you.

Hmmm...I have both WINNTBBU.DLL and WINNTBBU.DL_ in i386. Do I have to seperately edit both? wtf lol - I wish there was a little walkthrough for dumbasses like myself. The reason I ask anyway is because I tried to edit JUST THE WINNTBBU.DLL (no syssetup). It seemed to work, but the install crashed at T-39 with an incomplete catalog type thingy message. ?help please! -----------------------10mins Later........ Ok..I've figured the DLL and DL_ thing out. as for syssetup.dll, do I recompress to my install disc's i386\system32 or just copy there as is(uncompressed)?

Hi All... As you know I've been having this issue with BASE6034 giving me a hardware malfunction error in textmode. I've tried everything I can to get around this and after 37 DVDs I think I finally solved this issue. I've looked through all the CMD files and decided to REM all JMicron lines. I even caught this little error in SLIPSTREAM_DPM.CMD: REM BUSEXTENDER SET T12=.sys = 1,,,,,,3_,4,1,,,1,4" %T1% "aliide%T2% SET T12=.sys = 1,,,,,,4_,4,1,,,1,4" Being that these are suffixes and that there are no other instances of T12, I've changed these lines to read SET T2. Anyway, removing JAHCI actually works. I have no idea why it's having trouble with IASTOR, but it is. Just thought you'd like to know. Thanks again for all you do Bashrat.

Just one account... tried seperate driver packs (one by one) and still having hardware malfunction. Maybe it's my sh*tty mb.

Everything seated properly. I'm currently in the process of trying to slipstream the various packs one by one under base6034 to see if that solves anything...what a strange prob!

With all the new DPs, all my most recent errors have more or less disappeared. I just need to know if there's anyone out there having a **Hardware Malfunction issue with BTS_DriverPacks_BASE_V6034.exe. All slipstreaming (w/ latest driver packs (603x)) works picture perfect, but only w/ Base_ 602 and below. I'm still stuck on base_602. All newest dps work regardless, but anything above base_602 gives me a *Hardware Malfunction error after the raid drivers load and before 'textSetup' displays HD list for formatting/installing WinXP. I'm using Neo2 Platinum w/ Intel RAID ICH6R Please BTS, your work here has given me a piece of (my) mind (back). I don't know how else to kiss your a** sideways and backwards before you end this topic and say that it's a mass storage issue again. Please...if we can wait and see if there are any ICH6R RAID users out there experiencing this problem w/ BASE 6034 PCI devices =========== PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_00F9&SUBSYS_025410DE&REV_A2\4&37AD8B77&0&0008: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 Series GPU PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3044&SUBSYS_028D1462&REV_46\4&23C0B1C&0&18F0: VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller PCI\VEN_14E4&DEV_1677&SUBSYS_028C1462&REV_01\4&10CDB71B&0&00E2: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_244E&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_D3\3&11583659&0&F0: Intel® 82801 PCI Bridge - 244E PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2580&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_04\3&11583659&0&00: Intel® 915G/P/GV/GL/PL/910GE/GL Processor to I/O Controller - 2580 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2581&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_04\3&11583659&0&08: Intel® 915G/P/GV/GL/PL/910GE/GL PCI Express Root Port - 2581 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2640&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_03\3&11583659&0&F8: Intel® 82801FB LPC Interface Controller - 2640 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2652&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&FA: Intel® 82801FR SATA RAID Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2658&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&E8: Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 2658 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2659&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&E9: Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 2659 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_265A&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&EA: Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 265A PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_265B&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&EB: Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB Universal Host Controller - 265B PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_265C&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&EF: Intel® 82801FB/FBM USB2 Enhanced Host Controller - 265C PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2660&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_03\3&11583659&0&E0: Intel® 82801FB/FBM PCI Express Root Port - 2660 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2664&SUBSYS_00000000&REV_03\3&11583659&0&E2: Intel® 82801FB/FBM PCI Express Root Port - 2664 PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_2668&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&D8: Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266A&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&FB: Intel® 82801FB/FBM SMBus Controller - 266A PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_266F&SUBSYS_70281462&REV_03\3&11583659&0&F9: Intel® 82801FB/FBM Ultra ATA Storage Controllers - 266F 18 matching device(s) found. =========== USB devices =========== USB\ROOT_HUB\4&1CFA0043&0 : USB Root Hub USB\ROOT_HUB\4&1F1AA1E6&0 : USB Root Hub USB\ROOT_HUB\4&31EF7094&0 : USB Root Hub USB\ROOT_HUB\4&78AB7D0&0 : USB Root Hub USB\ROOT_HUB20\4&F31A718&0 : USB Root Hub USB\VID_046D&PID_C216\5&29DB93E5&0&2 : USB Human Interface Device USB\VID_0471&PID_0815\PH00HDWX : eHome Infrared Receiver USB\VID_2040&PID_2900\5&E0FD799&0&4 : USB Device 8 matching device(s) found.

This just became a problem with the latest mass storage release (V603). Otherwise, if I use a previous release (V510, in my case), mass storage driver install goes smoothly. But as I stated in a previous topic, even if I clear this problem, I still get a **Hardware Malfunction Contact your vendor for support** message right before the Starting Windows status message appears in textsetup. razormoon replied to mykz's topic in The General Stuff
I removed all occurences of CERCSR6.SYS to try to get around the error message, but I'm also having problems with BSOD right after MassStorage drivers are installed in textsetup. DriverPacks_BASE after V602 are giving me grief! Intel ICH6R w/ SATA RAID -
I just d/led and slipstreamed V603 of Sound_A and Sound_B and lost my audio. This happens whether I set my audio to AC97 or CMEDIA9880, the drivers will not load. I found that if I keep the older version of Sound_B (V602) then it works fine. However, V6021 and later will not install CMEDIA drivers. I haven't experimented with AC97 other than with V603 and that doesn't work. Thought you should know...

Hey All, I'm running SATA RAID on Intel ICH6R. I'm getting a BSOD in textsetup right after mass storage drivers are loaded and before the bottom text message "Starting Windows" appears. I get a BSOD that states ***Hardware Malfunction. ***Please contact your vendor.*** HOWEVER... This error only happens if I use DriverPacks_BASE above V602. (Actually, I have only used V6033 and V6034 besides V602). I have also gotten a corrupted *cerc*.sys (can't remember the filename exactly) during textsetup (mass storage) on MassStorage_V603. I've tried different combinations of old/new driver packs and Methods 1 and 2 and have come to the above conclusion. Hope this helps. BTW... Corrupted filename is CERCSR6.SYS
