  1. Perhaps because your deviceID isn't listed in the inf file _yet_. short description on how to find this: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;Q311272 run devcon like this to find YOUR hardware ID: devcon resources * Now a long, long, HUGE list will show up. Scroll up to find your MassStorage controller, and please paste it in this thread! (or mail/PM it to me)
  2. I know they are released! They're already integrated in the new version... And I think you're linking to the 3.61 drivers...
  3. To all: yes, it seems I made a HUGE mistake by adding the amd64 driver for this Promise controller... (well, I DO have an excuse: it was very late, but that's a really lame excuse ) The problem is: as I mentioned the previous weekend my PC crashed, I've found the problem that's causing this: my memory is broken!!!! And I'm only using it for a month... Now I (well, at least my dad ) do have to drive all the way to Germany TWICE ( bring it there for RMA, after 2-6 weeks again to get it back from RMA) and the time between I'll have quite some problem... Now what does this have to do with driverpacks: that's it's becoming more complicated every day: first my memory randomly gave errors, now when I hit the 300 MB usage limit (I got 1024) and apparently it's coming lower: my PC won't boot up anymore because some file got corrupted... So at this very moment I can't access my pc; I'm typing this post from my father's laptop. I'll do my best to fix the issues mentioned, normally I'd have to be able to do this within the next 24 hours! Can't promise although... P.S.: all my important data (including the driverpacks) are stored on a separate hard disk, so they aren't in any danger! In the mean time I'll remove the download, because an unstable build is not very useable... DriverPack LAN on the other hand, is a 100% working!
  4. @laurens: yes, this driver is included: "New: added support for Promise SATAII150 TX2plus/TX4/SX8 Controllers" @Lucius Snow & nolookingca: by posting this question, the clicks on my ads raise, so that won't be a problem anymore ! @Sesshoumaru: huh? It's just a plain old 7-zip SFX archive! Exactly as before! To verify this, I downloaded the package myself and it extracted without any problems! Redownloading might help! (maybe corruption due to file transfer...) @zorro1: -because it's not needed for regular unattended driver installations! (I'll look up the detailed info!) EDIT: -good point! It was late last night when I was adding these last drivers to the pack, on request of laurens, so I guess I looked over that fact... I'll find a work-around. For the moment, please remove the amd64 one!
  5. UPDATED 15th September 2004 All info: see first page. Thank you for your understanding!
  6. Doing that right now... The update was ready, but I'll add these drivers first! EDIT: it's already included in the VIA 310E driver! Then now that Promise 579 SATA...
  7. hmmm... sounds promising, but I never did that, and i dont know how. How do i make a partition/install on that one. and how do i remove the partition, when i'm done? if i could do that, why do i need VMWare??? ps - i tried putting ALL the drivers into the Drivers folder, without subfolders. I didnt know if it would make a diff., but I got the BSOD anyway. I'd recommend a tool like Symantec PartitionMagic to do that! It's very easy, but still you'd need to have some basic experience. (Since you might delete your entire Windows/Backup/whatever partition if you do something wrong) Looking for tutorials now...
  8. Please use the "Search" button! Did you try this guide already? http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/READING/addraid.htm
  9. I have the same problem. I think that the driver works, because installation of WinXP (with SP1) is perfect. But slipstreamed version with integrated SP2 can't copy driver files from floppy to harddisk. my hardware: Asus A7N8X Deluxe with Sil 3112A, 2 disks in raid0 I think that's something wrong with nLite or SP2. But I'm not expert in these things This problem is solved with the coming of the new release of DriverPack MassStorage You can expect it very, very soon (95% sure today)
  10. Thank you very much for the detailed information, cfeedback! I think someone else mentioned it in the DP MassStorage or the "Finally I've ..." topic. But yours confirms that once again, along with detailed info! I was planning to add this to the new version of DP MassStorage, but I wasn't 100% sure if it'd work. Now I AM sure @rcordorica: of course! (PS: working on the update today!)
  11. Trial & error is the only way, I suppose! B)
  12. Could you maybe higher that value to get an even smaller driver.cab?
  13. Okay got that. But the file was change by the install script, right? I've read through i386/txtsetup.sif and it contains the via Raid drivers I need and all the others. But still the CD doesn't load them during boot. Maybe cuz of my winnt.sif?? Have you run the Patch.cmd? That's required!
  14. Thanks to all who've posted int his topic, problem solved!
  15. Or maybe you can use the DeviceID. I doubt if that's been done before... Use Microsoft's tool "Devcon" to do this. link to Devcon's KB article
  16. Why don't you take a look at Jdeboeck's batch files? They are able to remove drivers and other stuff and then recompress everything! http://jdeboeck.msfnhosting.com
  17. Well here we've got another complicated Sound Driver installation... 1. You say 5.1 sound isn't working. 2. You say your control panel isn't installed. ==> This sounds familiar... When I'll update DP Sound I'll try to find a fix for this. (won't be too long anymore!) Untill then you'll have to install it manually (or as a silent app, see the tutorial)
  18. UPDATED 12th September 2004 All info: see first page. Thank you for your understanding!
  19. With the SiI3112 SATARAID and the CC's entered, I suppose?
  20. The update is complete! I'm working on the installation instructions now. (switching to Pyron's method for method 2, because Serialzs' method didn't work properly (which was in fact derivated from Pyron's method))
  21. that part of the instructions i am attachig thats for downloading (7za.ex_, DevPath.ex_ and Drvz.ex_) and maybe more, i don't know, isn't working. Nope it isn't. Serialzs couldn't get it fixed, however he has released a new version which should work. But this time I'll go for the certain thing and use a slightly different method, that's been prooved to work! My apologies! (but when I implemented it I thought this method was working because Serialzs said he had tested it! It seems it was only working properly on his system... Too bad :'( ) Will be updated soon (prolly today)
  22. Indeed WinRAR does the job! Dunno if you know this already but you can take a look over here: http://unattended.Msfn.org/xp/drivers.htm
  23. Please tell us what audio drivers you are using!
