1) Why put it inthere? Because that is the standard way... If someone thinks it's something of Windows XP by default, then he is a non-advanced user, and therefor he won't care, if he is however, then he can change it to his liking... Another advantage of putting it there: cmdow.exe can be used from anywhere, from any other batch file! 2) Yes, OF COURSE the MassStorage drivers file in the I386 folder have always been compressed... Back then, it wasn't sure if it would work, additionally it takes alot of time to compress all of the drivers. And again additonally: I did not know how to compress all drivers automatically, without having to enter the subfolder to each path... (no, I'm no professional programmer...)
