  1. My UXPCD is getting very close to the finishing touch... The only problem that's left is that at T-12 (when svcpack.inf runs) I'm getting this very, VERY annoying screen, that asks the following: Are you sure you want to proceed installation of WMP9, while system restore is turned off? When system restore is turned off, you won't be able to un-install it. I'm installing it like this: "WMP9.exe /Q:A /R:N" and system restore is turned off when cmdlines.txt ran. How can I prevent WMP9 setup from doing this? (not by turnning sr on again, and off at first logon or anything alike plz..) thx in advance
  2. I've tried to pack my Install and Driver folders, worked perfect when running Windows, but in Setup it didn't work at all... WinRAR_SFX_archive.exe /S works in Windows but not in setup... But Prahatpml (sorry it isn't correct, but your name is that difficult, you know??) told me it IS possible when you'd use 7ZIP... Try it, I'd say...
  3. I've repackaged it as described in Greenmachine's guide. When I try to install it, I get the following error: Can't open this installation package. Check if the package exists and if you have permission to the package, or contact the manufacturer of the application to check if the package is a valid Windows-Installer packet. What am I doing wrong? (BTW: I'm using Dutch copy of WinXP Pro and English version of .Net Framework, because Dutch version of that doesn't exist. However, I install a Dutch languagepack) EDIT: stupid me I've found a Dutch version, link to Microsoft's download page REM: tested it: dotnetfx.exe /Q:A /R:N ==>result: installed silent, but still a confirming screen at the end... Isn't there a switch, or do I really have to repackage it?
  4. I've got the same problem AND I've used the same work-around You can find the real solution in the official topic: link EDIT: titou2k posted the answer good luck with it
  5. Microsoft has built in a tool to do this for you: you can find it in : Start, Programs, Accesories, Systemtools, Wizard migrate files and settings I don't know if the names mentioned above are completely correct, as I'm using a Dutch Windows version... But you'll know where to find it. If you'd also like to transfer your MS Office settings, that's also possible, use the built-in help function for details.
  6. Now I've got another problem: I used Jdeboecks removing-scripts, without trouble , made the ISO and tested it in VPC. For the record: I didn't remove IE, OE or WMP this time. Only gamecontrollers images, moviemaker, windows messenger, netmeeting, games, etc. NO drivers When windows boots there are problems with rundll32.exe: [rundll32.exe - Can't find part] This application can't be started because framedyn.dll can't be found. Reinstalling this apllication can solve the problem [OK] I click OK [RUNDLL] There has been a fault while loading srclient.dll Can't find the stated module. [OK] I click OK What can I do to solve this? And what's causing this problem?
  7. It's mentioned in the official guide that VPC does NOT support images larger than 2 GB. The solution is very simple: mount the image using a tool such as Daemon Tools and then capture the virtual drive in VPC. good luck with it
  8. Or try this topic: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...rivers.rar&st=0
  9. OK, eventually I have to admit it's better to leave IE there... I'm getting trouble upgrading diskeeper... (which is probably only one of many...) ==> IE should NOT be removed I've heard you'd get trouble viewing clips online if you don't have WMP installed ==> WMP should NOT be removed No one says you could get trouble by removing OE. ==> OE can SAFELY be removed if you don't agree with above, reply why thank you all for figuring this out!
  10. How can I set up MSN messenger to look for e-mails with Mozilla??? Now I've removed IE, OE and WMP, I won't have to install the hotfixes for them anymore, right?
  11. I've followed Jdeboeck's guide. I'll post the results later. thx to all for the replies!
  12. OK,,OK, all of you guys say it's not good at all to remove OE and IE. But the settings in the winnt.sif hide these, right? And is it suggested to remove WMP? And how?
  13. I know this would hide IE,OE and WMP (according to ref.chm, included in deployment tools) winnt.sif [Components] IEAccess=off OEAcces=off WMPOCM=offThe previous replies made clear it's NOT possible to remove IE. But is it also impossible to remove OE and WMP?
  14. Wrong, you would still need to install hotfixes for Internet Explorer, because even if you delete the Internet Explorer directory, Windows Explorer still has its own integrated Internet Explorer browser, and there's no way to get rid of that! that's why I've put the ??? at the end...
  15. of course that would save me alot of work, but I don't want to pay for something like that, especially because I'm very sure that this is also possible by tweaks...
  16. Topic title says it all... How could I install Windows XP, without installing Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and Winows Media Player??? Why? Simple: better alternatives: Mozilla and Winamp... EDIT: which means I also won't have to install the hotfixes for those programs !!! ???? thanks in advance
  17. NoPops is also a good one. google for it to find it.
  18. Since when is that? Didn't know that I thought there were about 120-160 countries... Well... stupid me I guess I'm from Hasselt, Belgium, Europe
  19. This is a very interesting topic for you , I guess... At page five, the last post, you can find a mirror I've made...
  20. I wrote one for adding a Language Pack to Nero: Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell") WshShell.Run (".\NBR6302nld.exe") WScript.Sleep 5000 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" WScript.Sleep 500 WshShell.SendKeys "{UP}" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Quit
  21. Somewhere in this topic someone asked how he could silent install a Nero Language Pack. The only answer (for as far I have seen) was copying certain files and edit a registry key. I've made a VBscript, which is alot easier... Just download your desired language pack and place this in the same directory:(you don't have to extract it, but it's possible if you'd like that) Set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject ("WScript.Shell") WshShell.Run (".\NAME_OF_YOUR_LANGUAGEPACK.EXE") WScript.Sleep 5000 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Sleep 1000 WshShell.SendKeys "{TAB}" WScript.Sleep 500 WshShell.SendKeys "{UP}" WScript.Sleep 500 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Sleep 500 WshShell.SendKeys "~" WScript.Quit Save this with the filename you wish, but don't forget the vbs-extension! hope it's useful for someone...
