    tcp/ip patch

emailaya, if that tool doesn't recognize some newer tcpip in the future then you can patch with nLite and simply extract tcpip.sys from that installation folder. Just be careful to use the same hotfixes or service pack which you used for the real install.
  2. Which computer name is that? You can change the name but keep it in the same format, if it has some char or space other than usual. Also did you fill out the Full Name in the Network or Owner tab, whatever it is called now, it would prompt you to fill it if empty. And if you don't fill Admin Password then choose Blank Password otherwise depending on the Unattended Mode it will prompt you to fill it. I think main reason here is the Unattended Mode, choose Fully Automated if you don't want any stops. It's probably one of those intentional reasons, let me know.
  3. dexter.inside, yeah exactly. What do you think that breaks when turning off UAC from those on the list, maybe Prefetch? benifin, you could do a test by leaving UAC enabled and empty the C:\Windows\Prefetch or search for a tweak how to disable it, then compare.
  4. Hm...there is no way that driver loads 400MB in RAM, more like your Prefetch now doesn't work. (just a guess) It already is in the next version
  5. Could be simply cache (from basic prefetch or simply windows starting?) being released if not used, wouldn't bother with it. If you ask me fill the cache to the top (as Vista does while used) and drain it only when necessary, why use hdd more than needed.
  6. jimanny, maan hehe, couldn't they make it more resiliant, thx it will be fixed in the next ver.
  7. You gotta reinstall with those kept. Wait new version tomorrow.
  8. I think the key here is "memory hotfix". Are you saying that you forgot that full Vista doesn't work as well before "blaiming" vLite? Unplug one memory stick if you have 4GB and it will probably work. Btw good news for you, next vLite has a option to force that during boot as well. Check tomorrow for download, let me know if it helped.
  9. Try to disable Windows Search service if you haven't. But since you say all are disabled than that proves to you that it's not the same as removals.
  10. Runs fine here, all removed except IE Core, Aero and Media Scheduler.
  11. Did you remove WinSAT or WMP Codecs?
  12. This is more of a Vista forum question, just saying that you would get better answers there, if you want me to move it let me know. I would say check if you maybe used Autounattend.xml file from your recovery DVD. If not then see is there a \sources\$oem$ folder. And lastly mount boot.wim and explore it for Asus stuff.

    vlite wont start

Oh since it's Vista it can't be reinstalled. .NET 3 doesn't influence vLite. Hm tough cookie. Judging from your screenshot I'm using newer .Net to compile it. Can you please try .NET 2.0 SP1, it was released not long ago. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=en
  14. Oh pardon me, I mixed up cbscore.dll with cscapi.dll, thought that they are both belonging to the same offline package integration engine, while this which you mentioned is a part Offline Files component as you stated. Anyway you will only find that SP wants more and more kept so that eventually you keep all components for it to work. Install on full or do that capture thing and you have fully working preintegrated SP which can be trimmed. Or wait for MS to integrate it. I am sorry that it can't be installed on a lite version but it's not really a surprise since it's a giant hotfix for the whole Vista.
  15. Dokugogagoji, vLite doesn't remove that, it's just a file of a control which failed because it expected some file.

    vlite wont start

Have you tried uninstalling .Net framework 2, reboot and reinstall it?
  17. Yeah I will give it another shot very soon. Problem is even if you delete just winsxs\Backup (some) hotfixes won't install. But lets put backup aside, it's not as problematic or pointless as dual Sp and dual integrated hotfixes files. I can understand if you installed them on a live machine and want to uninstall, fine, but give us some switch to skip backing up old files when integrating at least.
  18. Diablo1123, true...gotta start promoting Vista, just waiting that check from MS, they promised...not MagicAndre1981, http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=...amp;btnG=Search
  19. razormoon, let it to automatically restarts, only after you get a message that SP1 is installed then you generalize. Btw mine took 1 hour and I thought it was too long. Maybe you're not giving it enough memory or your HDD was busy with something else. jamieo, because this way there is no risk for the real data and I have a template to easily make sp integrations on the fly.
  20. Yeah your only problem seems that you didn't put the install.wim into the SOURCES folder. So it's like this for example: c:\VistaDVD\Sources\Install.wim and select c:\VistaDVD with vLite. That is the default structure.
  21. ZeDMaN and daroga, you're welcome. sp00f, next version works for him as well. Luchy, it's the Media Center. Gonna see about separating it, already promised it few versions ago. If not in tomorrow's release it will be in 1.1 final.
  22. Even in XP it would be electronic suicide to install SP over modified Windows. It might work but many things would be broken. For Vista it doesn't even want to install since it blindly goes and forces updates, ask MS to adapt (they should just skip missing components and not treat whole SP like one component), I have no control over the update process.
  23. Yes. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=105354
  24. I would say yes, Vista with all removed except Recommended compatibility should be fast as full XP SP2. Now this is just a guess, I haven't tried full XP SP2 in 4 years. Remove Aero and Desktop Composition since you are on single-core, this Aero DWM service constantly takes cpu time even though it's a GPU thing. Btw wait new vLite, out on Monday. And get yourself Virtual PC so that you can test it before installing. Hm only problem is to run it you'll need 512MB allocated, that leaves your OS with 100MB, you'll be ok...barely (check the RAM prices, they are waay too low these days, at least for DDR, haven't checked SDR)
  25. sysoc.inf inside sysoc.in_ is normal, leave it there. So you had amd64\sysoc.in_ AND amd64\sysoc.inf ? I don't understand that "personalized" line, does that mean that deleting sysoc.inf didn't help? But be sure to do it before nLite. So you copy your CD to some new folder, go and delete duplicate sysoc, then run nlite on that folder. It should help, if there was double file. Maybe now there is some other error that appears first?
