  1. Some tutorials can be found by doing this Google search.
  2. the one that has no shadow it is just amazing what these guys can do I pick the one on the left, with shadow. What do others think? Do we need a poll on this?
  3. This if found in their Terms and Conditions page. Is this true? Has anyone successfully texted from other countries? Just want to know before I start spreading the word.
  4. Also works with "miserable failure".
  5. What I am saying is, people get all the relevant info in one (or two, if one can't fit) page with My Yahoo!. And this is all over the world almost. No need to get movie times from MSN email, video chat from somewhere else, currency conversion, games, etc from somewhere else. This is the main reason ordinary people set their homepages to My Yahoo! or something similar like My NineMSN. Only thing is My NineMSN does not have mail preview. So, until Google makes their personalised homepage better I don't think people will leave Yahoo! for it. And I think Google is concentrating their efforts on searches and desktops and gmail and Google Talk. Because these are the areas Google can apply Adsense. By the way, you can find Ask Yahoo! under Fun when you Add Content to your page.
  6. Yeah, and it's all American isn't it? Can't find Melbourne's weather. Movies are for US cities. Etc. Like I said, Google is excellent for whatever they have already but Yahoo! has reached the masses. Google will definitely topple Yahoo! if it intends to. But I think it is aiming for Microsoft. Funny thing, there is even an "Ask Yahoo!" section in the link you gave.
  7. Do you Yahoo!? I voted for Yahoo! Many still use My Yahoo! as their homepage. It can be personalised. Games are good. So is Yahoo! Messenger with Voice and video. I use Google mainly for searches and email. IMO Google has very good and specialised products but Yahoo! has taken very deep roots.
  8. Really nice. First time I've seen it. Wonder if there's a tutorial somewhere on the javascript.
  9. Celebrity invites. Richard Burton. Elizabeth Taylor. Nicole Kidman. Jack Nicholson.
  10. I have 4 invites to give away. PM me.
  11. Following what prathapml said about posting invite links publicly, I clicked on some of the used up links. Some just said "The link you followed to create a Gmail account has already been used to create an account." Others mentioned the created email address too like this "The link you followed to create a Gmail account has already been used to create an account for <name>@gmail.com." Yeah, I think it is not a good idea to post invites publicly.
  12. Of course I have my doubts about whether it really works... They claim to have dispersed 71k+ invites. I tried it and it seemed to work for me. Here's an invite I got from them. Help yourself. http://gmail.google.com/gmail/a-1f89e1ae0c...cfe6-831e7b8394
  13. @indianarchie, I use Firefox. It's not advisable to relocate your cache. Without the appropriate extension, it can only be done through about:config as MCT suggested. And even after you do that the files look the same. To browse the files in the cache type about:cache in the address bar. If you're looking for a flash file search for .swf which is the extension for most shockwave flash files. When you find the file that you want, click on it and another page will come up with another link on it. Right click on that link and click Save Link As... Hope it helps. P. S. - If you have Adblock extension it will make this job much easier.
  14. Thanks. I've taken the bottom one on the list.
  15. Norton for me mainly because I'm so used to it and many other people use it as well.
  16. Do not check on the team page at the SETI@Home website. It does not update automatically. Check your user page. User name being the email address you signed up with. That should update immediately after you upload results.
  17. I read about NTFS compression some time ago. From memory, whenever the files are required from the hard disk, the hard disk reads the compressed data, the cpu uncompresses the data and then passes it on to the next process. I don't know if the uncompression process (of large files especially), uses the hard disk again to store files temporarily. Again from memory, if the hard disk is slow and the cpu is fast, then compressing a drive/partition will quicken the whole process. The hard disk doesn't have to move too much or go too far. If the hard disk is much faster than the cpu then compression may not help. Compression would help save space if the disk/partition is running low. But if that disk/partition is used for storing already compressed files eg. mp3, jpeg, etc. then the compressing the disk/partition wouldn't help much. This is how I understand it. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  18. Change the attributes of the Startup folders in both the User and All Users to hidden.
  19. Agree ... but it will show hidden files n folder status in status bar ryt ??? Yup. Gotta try and remove that status bar option.
  20. How about this? Set a folder to hidden. (Using Folder Options or Command Prompt) Make sure the option 'Do not show hidden files and folders' is selected. In Regedit go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden Change data in value Type from 'group' to blank. Hit the F5 key (Refresh). This will remove the options 'Show hidden files and folders' and 'Do not show hidden files and folders'. You can make a script to do all this work if you wish. The folder can still be viewed by typing in the correct path name.
  21. I think you better check what exactly your Dell disk is. Try, as an experiment, installing it on a different computer with different hardware configurations and see if it works.
  22. I presume you are refering to windows explorer. Does that happen if you close windows explorer and then re-open it? Or it only happens after a reboot?
  23. Open up your Yahoo! Messenger. In the menu bar click Messenger then Preferences. Under General you'll see When I start my computer: _ Automatically start Yahoo! Messenger. Uncheck that option.
  24. Concerning Program Files folder have a read of this: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=10334&hl=
