@ Hellfire I think I read somewhere here that if you change boot scr you get classic look???? that classic look in control panel doesn't change anything elst does it??? just guess's good luck bones for all bonedaddy

@ Xmac well sir then people will learn and like I did, probably the hard way... I like Mazin's attitude "no fear" and it looks like he's doing well. I've made 2 msi files and they work, thank heavens, now I'm going to try to modify a program, my time, my mistakes, my fun, no harm to anyone else. these bones are getting old bonedaddy

@ All just to let you know how I rid myself of the Y.... I install reg tweaks next to last, ATI Drivers are last. the reg hack has a del QT icon in it, found on this site. when I installed QT after the reg hack I got the Y once I moved reg tweaks to next to last (after QT) problem gone Of cousre I don't install reg's from cmdlines and I'm the only user so no big deal. doggy bags have BONES bonedaddy

@ all I decided to try my luck at a boot screen... got a few by swissboy and read everything here and there. boot scr works fine, then after icons settle and I reboot, BSOD in a matter of seconds, reboot same thing. but after that reboot seems to settle down, ZoneAlarm trying to popup a window, BSOD, again. Yes, I removed ZoneAlarm and reinstalled the Unattended Install and worked fine..... any help out there?? thanks bonedaddy

@ All sp2 slipped in so nice and easy, no problems.. but I need about 10mb more space. Under \cmpnents there are 3 files, if any one of the 3 could go I'd be in great shape. Does anyone know if one of them can be deleted? They are, netfx, mediactr, and TABLETPC. I would think TABLEPC could go since I don't us one.. any help is a big thank you bones for everybody bonedaddy

@ everyone well i don't know the first thing about reg files, but none the less i have become a copy and paste kind of guy, and you know what?? i've had no problems, and the reg tweaks have been great, except i don't know how many times i read that "remove shortcut to" didn't work, it was just missing the []. Sorry but i say read'em and just use what you understand and need and enjoy!! thanks for all the knowledge gained and fun i've had as a result of this site.... bonedaddy

Hi all just a short question....... How or can you have Unattended install (from .sif I would guess) do a full format instead of the quick one?? I would like that option. thanks bonedaddy

Hi all well Aaron inspired me to try, I used wininstaller LE, and it worked!! Never used a program like that and I kind of muddled thru. The wizard is cool, but the first time I tried it, on a machine with Power Desk installed, it didn't work. Just follow the instuctions and it will work. Using a fresh install of win xp worked well. Use the /qn switch. break a leg bonedaddy

Could someone give us a short run down of what stays and what goes as far as a current UI vs. one with SP-2 being slipped, sp-1, rollup 1, are they removed??? thanks bonedaddy

This is my first post here, and to say the least I'm a newb. I have managed to create a slipped and unattended Win XP Pro cd. I'm not sure how or why, but it works. Now my question is, concerning the Rollup 1, it says, "at the bottom under the section, add this, do not delete any thing else, ect. and it lists a bunch of dll's exe's sys's ect., do I type or copy these to the DOSNET.INF file????? Sorry to bother with dumb ???? thanks in advance bones
