  1. Hi WildBill, Not a glitch with this new version. Nice And the Vista 1.4 is a good looking skin. But I still don't know how to skin the clock. Could you post your .bmp or .tga for the clock and settings in TClock3 Properties? Cool, thanks. I am going to leave it on the laptop from now on... looks not so the same anymore. S.
  2. Yes, but how's your pascal? WildBill has left it open source..

    Bug in my fileset

Not sure that you forgot it Fred. My HIVESFT.INF (11-13-05) has these entries BUT many are on the same line. See line 584 for a very long line. Also we are probably missing the bit at the very end too: HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\H323TSP",,0x00000012
  4. [goat] Hmm, tried quoting, but that was fubar. Weird...[/goat] Try it this way
  5. I redid it all from sp4 (so much playing along the way) and problem 4 is no longer. Probably shouldn't have done so much surfing while HFSLIP was slippin' too <cough>. Thanks TommyP, FDV and Oleg_II. BTW Oleg_II, I like my Windows Explorer in Details view and (don't know why but) like Control Panel with large icons. This seems to write in HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\StreamMRU" If others are the same it could be a considered mod for mru_kill.inf Also file association gets lost with: HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts" Really handy when I want to read text files by double clicking like .sif, read.me, etc. A new .something is always popping up.
  6. Uncompress mru_kill.in_. You'll get it as an .inf file so rename it back to mru_kill.in_ and use this in the FDVFILES folder. That worked for me. Let me know if this creates the next problem about Start - Settings - Printers "This file does not have a program associated with it ..." Thanks
  7. @ Oleg_II qdvd.dll did the trick That was just the title of the frame that reported the Error registering OCX trouble. This is not a problem with your reducers. I just never noticed before but the FDV files do this. MY fault - if I had noticed this earlier I could have told Fred. The drivers are still a problem but all in due time. I decompressed mru_kill.in_ and renamed it back to .in_ and this fixed problem #5 for me. As for paint, I found PhotoFiltre as a possible alternative. Everything else seems to be purring along nicely. B)
  8. Well, this is first run. Haven't any grabbers yet but looks good so far. Still haven't skinned the clock face tho.
  9. Weird. I tried to capture the desktop with AnalogX Capture and all I get is a white taskbar, start button etc. What software do you use to grab an image?
  10. Hey WildBill, I played with TClock3 and found only a few glitches with transparent desktop icon text. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a refresh. Only one thing, I haven't been able to set the clock skin, I have: under Tray/Clock Fill = Skin Clock and my taskbar.bmp under Full Skinning / Clock = Alpha and Tray/Clock Fill Well that's what I have now, I have tried most combinations. Any ideas. What size of bmp is it expecting?
  11. Always great help OlegII. Last thing about multimed and spchapi. Are they compressed or a different language? How can I read them? They look like Uƒ8í ñ¤ÒDÛ%€š4Æj to me
  12. Hi Oleg, good work A few issues though: 1_ error with Advanced INF Install - Error registering OCX C:\WINNT\system32\qdvd.dll 2_ Video Controller S3 Trio32/64 installation error (didn't even know I had one of these ) 3_ Hardware found called MEDIA and no drivers available 4_ Start - Settings - Printers "This file does not have a program associated with it ..." same with Control Panel same with Network and dial up connections (except that the shortcut under communications works) 5_ mru eraser - reports installation failed 6_ you have removed Paint, can you suggest a good small replacement? 7_ iexplorer exe and lnk removed - could this possibly be still needed by some 3rd party apps? 8_ what are your FIX files doing? Are they required? Sorry for all the numbered questions; I just don't want to miss an answer Thanks, S.
  13. I know that TClock3 used the bitmaps from TClock2 for my start button and Win2k spash; how do I set up a new bmp for either with TClock3 (and more importantly - task bar)? tclock3test.exe /prop doesn't do it Sorry if any of this is answered by learning how to set up the .ini file. I'll learn that next BTW, so far TClock3 seems to run fast and clean
  14. Hey WildBill, I just started playing with TClock2 (2 days) and I found your TClock3. Is this the best method for use?- 1_ Setup with tclock2.exe /props 2_ unload with tclock2.exe /exit 3_ run tclock3.exe How do I do a tclock3.exe /exit? Once I learn the .ini method, I'm guessing that tclock2 isn't needed? Registry entries? Thanks for the hard work.
  15. Amazing amount of fluff in the original 2000 Do you know of an app that can log all the files accessed during a usual session? Just curious ... I don't have any desire to completely obliderate Windows. Actually, I thought 130MB was pretty good but if you can do less than 100, good
  16. Just wondering if there is a dedicated thread for HFCLEANUP advancement. Are there any posted additions to hfcleanup.zip (from www.vorck.com) or remove_tested_ok.zip?
  17. Hey all, I notice with FDV's fileset he sets: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\UserAssist\Settings NoEncrypt = 1 What do you think of changing it to NoLog instead? Do we need the Count key logging?

    HFEXPERT

No Program Files is ok. There is a lot of room on WINNT Thanks for all the diligent work on HFSLIP. S.

    HFEXPERT

I'm here late again Is this not possible or just unadvised? I had thought to put my new Media Player in the traditional location in Program Files.
  20. Thanks guys, Fred does put it in "Program Files\K-Lite Codec Pack\Media Player Classic". I can make this work now. I'll tweak mplayer2.in_ to work with mpui.exe also. @TommyP Next time round, mpui has an update, can I put it in the APPREPLACEMENT folder and HFSLIP will find it? BTW Oleg_II, if you get further into video editing, check out HC encoder by Hank315. Amazing, free and probably now better than Tmpgenc. Sorry to break the thread but I wanted to give a little back.
  21. Nope 51224 has the same result. mplayerc and mplayer in system32 but no shortcut or file type association.
  22. Got it. Thanks. With my kid again... wants more happy faces.
  23. I may have to do something similar. I now have mplayerc to SYSTEM32 but no shortcut and it doesn't associate with an avi. I did remember to copy back in mplayer2.in_. One small factor - HFSLIP 60107 doesn't work for me, I copied the zip over the older 51202 (usually so rock solid, I didn't think to keep the older) and I had to perform this test on a dated 51115 version. If I can't later get suitable results could you show me how to make an association to say .avi files? Once again thanks Oleg_II.
