  1. Is it a Windows XP installation disk or is it an image based recovery cd ? In other words, nLite is searching for an i386 folder, is there one on your CD ?
  2. Uploading or sharing a Windows XP ISO... don't you think that would be illegal ? Why don't you read the red text up your screen instead ?
  3. -X- 's site has some lists of post SP3 updates for XP , I'm not sure that's what you're looking for.

    Hotfixes problem

I don't know how your post is related to this thread, but anyway, the file is on the system you build the cd with (the system you have nLite installed), in C:\Program Files\nlite\presets\. And unless you changed that option, It is also copied in the working directory and so in the iso and on the cd if you created one.

    Hotfixes problem

It is normal that they do not appear in Add/Remove Programs because they are integrated, not added. If you want a more specific reply, read the big red message up your screen and attach (not paste) your "last session.ini". About IE8, you cannot simply add the IE8 installer from MS, you need to add an "add-on".
  6. Put simply, this program (nLite) does not do that. You will surely find lots of info about that sort of things if you search the "Unattended Windows" and "Customizing Windows" forums. Tutorials are already there. This one for instance.
  7. There's a thread on that subject in the "Install Windows from USB" forum (from 2 months ago). It does not seem clear wether the problem was solved or not but maybe you give the answer ?
  8. Unfortunately new posters very rarely come back to report how their problem was solved. At leat this one read the big red message up his screen.

    RAID driver

As well as being in the FAQ on nLite's site, you could search for "repair" and see this thread for instance.
  10. ... by the way, have you tried changing these ? Do you have the same screen resolution in both OSs ? + you need to click "harder" in XP ? Is this the double click speed you're talking about ?
  11. If you just want to integrate drivers, the answer is "maybe". But normally, nLite transforms an original XP install disk in a custom XP install disk and you might get some surprises if it doesn't like the way your disk has been transformed at first.
  12. What do you mean by that ?
  13. No-place did he mention booting to DOS. This is the "Windows XP" forum and from his 1st line on, he clearly tries to boot XP or "a" version of it.
  14. Unfortunately nLite's EULA limits it to personal/non-commercial use, so I think you should reinstall.
  15. Do you mean the one that has "corporate XP Pro" written on it ? (not that I've ever seen one) + see this post.
  16. I admit it tooke me a 2nd post to ask the decisive question. But hey,... they're paid for that.
  17. not from "the" disc you loaded, but from an original standard Microsoft Windows XP disc, that is unless you loaded your "last session.ini" at beginning of nLite, in which case they are the result it will have (still and always assuming you are starting with the original Microsoft XP).
  18. What's the serial# of your Dell ? (can't find Optiplex GX745 on their site though I'm sure I've been working on them before). Also attach your Last session.ini file to your next post, it might help. As I see you swapped the drive, does it appear ("80Gig" and serial ) in the Bios ?
  19. Have you tried modifying the SATA operation option in the Bios (Integrated Devices) if any (to "compatible" or IDE mode or something)? Integrating the driver (which might be the good one and should take 2 minutes to find on Dell's site with the serial number), have you choosen "TEXT MODE" when on that screen ?
  20. But wouldn't the price for your CF card adapter alone be double than the value of the entire computer ? @Systemchris, you can check these pages to make yourself a boot floppy with network support. It works with PCMCIA cards, you might have to write your own plugin (I've done it ~10 years ago). From there you can map an optical drive on an other computer.
  21. Winamp plays most movies fine as well.
  22. My suggestion was for possible problems running nLite on XP, so if that is fine, so be it. Now I'm not sure (someone may confirm) you can remove WMP then readd it through hotfix.
  23. Happy Mondays B)
  24. I don't know what exactly "takes hours", but do not put your hotfixes on your desktop (C:\Users\Mortera\Desktop\g E o R g e\Xp Updates\...) but in a "straighter" directory.
  25. Good news is they're everywhere, almost for free.
