You have an english version of XP, you need to apply english SP2 and read this: http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/referen...s/muixpsp1.mspx
-
From MS's site: you can't. -MUI is an add-on to the english version of XP. -The Windows XP/2000 MUI is sold only through Volume Licensing programs

If there was only 10 options to nLite, you'd need a guide that describes the behaviour for 1024 different possible XP installations. nLite removes part of the OS for good. If you don't know what an option does, don't use it, the program will play it safe for you. And yes, you have to know your way in and out of Windows to use it. I think you are better off buying a book than searching bit by bit on the forums from scrath.

No. If your CD is in spanish, your XP is in spanish. Multilingual DVDs from OEMs exist in multilangual countries (here in Belgium for instance) but it's not usual. As for your insistance on the fact both your XP HOME and your CD are legal, I doubt the upgrade is.

This has been in the addons list since a long time. It's a 2 years old version. Also, "mixed mode" CD (data and audio) is not supported from what I know. And I don't know of any freeware that makes them.
-
I'm not sure anybody ever tried that one. Maybe you can find IE4 on a cd that came with the modem you bought in 1995 (you know, the one with Adobe reader 2.0 and QuickTime 1.something..). No idea if it's technically possible though.
-
of course. apparently not.
-
I'm not going to answer because it's all in the "addons" forum. -all about switches -all about making your own addon.
-
You point to the .cab or .7z addon file in the "hotfixes" part of the nLite process. Didn't search very hard, did you ?
-
exactly. So much of "how do I re-enable" shows lots of people have not gathered nLite is not turning off but suppressing options. So you want to gain 1/2 a second of performance and the solution to your problem is to recreate an install disk... bang. Now if this (auto format) gets included, this board will crawl under "how do I recover my data" posts. Like "my little brother blah blah blah" or "I helped a friend reinstalled his computer and I had told him not to ...but...". " My new nLite cd reformatted my disk when I did not want to, what did I do wrong... who do I sue ?"
-
In this case nobody dares to reply because it's too obvious. Start nLite, point to your working folder (the one that contains the files you want on the iso, if you don't have that I don't know what you're doing exactly) then in the main menu choose "bootable iso" only (last buton). No need for new source, no last session, no need to slipstream, no integrate, no patch, deactivate those, just "bootable iso". It takes less than 10 seconds to get to that menu.

The only thing I can see is that you'd use the Alt+Shift combination at some point to switch languages/keyboard to US/US. How about deleting the US/US from the list ?
-
so... is PT not set as default ?
-
Probably a service or program that is not stopping. Check your task manager.

Good program, but what will Doubledriver tell me that I didn't already know when I made my cd ? Shouldn't people backup drivers before installing ?
-
Some people dont want it. And I think Nuhi is part of them. Here for example. And I'm sure there was an other thread where he was more convincing. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=78826 I'd bet North Korea does want it .

Playing with partitions is always risky, so remotely advising someone to do it is tricky. What does it say when you try to install on the other partition ? Normally you should be able to do it unless it is not big enough. Also you want to "change" you D:, to what ? What I usually do is set an other partition active and install XP after that. That way, it install on the new C, there is no mixing of the 2 systems and I install a boot manager myself or change the active partition and can reboot in the first system.

still stops to confirm shortcuts creation.

Windows File Protection popups when installing drivers.
Ponch replied to daiphoenix's topic in nLite
When XP asks you to insert the cd, always chose "Cancel". -
could it be a problem with that "SKÆRM" you use as path ?
-
And your question is ... ? +Personally I wouldn't repartition a drive with data and music on it. It'd give me cold sweat.
-
... no. enable means enable. Also there is only one option, so disabled during install also means disabled after install. I also edited my first post about HDD requirement, as just reading it was making no sense to me. There's nothing stupid about them texts, maybe they've been modified along with countless nLite versions and not always for the best comprehension. But thank God, it still looks pretty obvious to most.
-
from what I remember, "Clean MUI Languages support entries". Does "enabled" remove them? YES "Press Any Key boot message" Does "enabled" make the message continue to show when the disc is in the drive? YES "HDD free space requirement" Does "enabled" allow installation on hard drives with less space than the required free space? Same question on the max memory option. NO, "disabled" does ("required by MS", not required by the actual install) Under "Setup look", the black option references the classic setup. Does that negate the classic option, or what exactly is going on there? It sets a black screen as wallpaper during the install only, I don't think it changes anything to your XP once installed.

Usual answer would be "start from an original set of files". I think it applies here. I think the rule is that you can take more off in a second nLiting of your files but you get into problems trying to add hotfixes on top of an already processed cd. You can still reuse your first "Last_session.ini". Hope this helps.
