  1. I got that kind of reply often My problem is that we're not yet ready to replace the backend servers (redisgn, costs and downtime considerations) but very much need to add new workstations at the front end. Unfortunately, the new models of workstations available now in the market does not support the Windows NT 4 OS. We already tried Mozilla, Netscape, and even firefox but to no avail. Right now, just for stop-gap measures, I'm forced to settle for the limitations (and holes) of the IE4/Windows2k/XP combination. Anyway, its a controlled environment, being a small intranet for one, where it might be manageble for us to monitor security and post audits, just as long as the backend database doesnt get corrupted due to incompatibilities with the frontend browsers.
  2. Hi, does anybody have an idea if you could install Internet Explorer version 4.01 on Windows 2000 and/or XP AFTER the built-in IE has been removed using nLite? There are some functionalities on our intranet that goes haywire when being browsed by IE5/IE6 probably because the IIS on the webserver is the version that comes with Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise (probably IIS4). Any inputs would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
