I am wondering how I can get this control panel: Instead I have this: I looked at a computer with vista on it in the store, it was not vista ultimate but it has the top control panel. Is there a difference in vista versions or does the driver install the applet??

I was wondering if anyone can help me with this unkown user? I would like to remove it if I could, I am the only user on this computer and the guest account is disabled. Should I run a script to take ownership of "everything" ?

Try using this: http://download.sysinternals.com/Files/ProcessExplorer.zip Try to see what is causing the crash, and start killing applications 1 by 1, careful not to kill a service that is windows critical. Hopefully you will see someting happen when the crash occurs. You can also check you device manager for issues.

try getting a driver for your monitor model, then unckeck "hide modes......"

I'd suggest sticking with the certified WDDM drivers included with Vista. Why would you want to include non-WDDM drivers? Because some of the wdm drivers are crap. the wdm for my agp card cause bsod's and vista will not install.

Creative are very unsatisfactory, I have a SB Live 5.1 and I guess its a older card but I had a Yamaha Ds-xg card that worked great but there's no drivers for that either. I don't know if I need my desktop speakers to sound like DR. Dre's sound studio, I just want the **** thing to work. I still got a unfinished, cracked out tone section and no "what you hear" options. I am also stuck using a 2002 driver because the one released for my APU sound like S@#*. Seriously, I thought my card was gonna explode, and I got a BSOD. What about those turtle beach guys I thought they were good.........

On my disk page, my ide is c: but it is DISK1 and my sata is disk0, but this should be reversed, and theres no way to change it unless I put my os on my sata and boot from it, which I dont wanna do.

You cant, thats the way it is. Boot order wont do nothing cause it only controls ide devices.

Vista keeps deleting my restore points, and its p***ing me off. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

Ok, I have a working list of sevices I disabled and everything has been good for months, and also the same goes for RTM or RC2. If you have no printers, scanners or share files or remote stuff, you can safely match services with mine with no ill effects. If anyone see's a problem, please let me know.

I have been running vista since RC1 and then RC2 until a few days ago, then I purchased Vista Ultimate. It works great, it's way more stable than XP by far, and if a application does crash, the whole OS doesn't go down with it. Maybe you have some hardware that doesn't work good with it.
