  1. the security of IE with its Sandbox (when you leave UAC on) is fine. Btw, start a new topic about your install issue and upload the C:\Windows\logs\CBS folder.
  2. @ Bluebomber4evr the largest spikes are caused by the tcpip.sys, others by the ATAport and NDIS.sys. Update the network card drivers. the hal issue may come from your OC. Don't OC the AMD CPU so much. 4.3GHz seams to be too much.
  3. you get some high CPU usage and the services SSDPSRV, run this command to capture CPU profiling data xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+CSWITCH+DRIVERS+POWER -stackwalk profile The fastBoot depends on Hibernation. Have you disabled hibernation to free some space on your OCZ-VERTEX2? Also try to run the fastBoot command at the end.
  4. I can't download from Rapidshare.com
  5. 80073712 means WinSxS damaged.
  6. but patching files is dangerous. Last patchday a lot of users got a blackscreeen because of their patched uxtheme files.
  7. WinLogonInit and starting all programs at autostart is slow. i need the ETL file to see more. You use the old boot. Have you disabled the new Win8 fastBoot?
  8. For me the setup doesn't work, it complains that the StartIsBack64.dll is in use. I never had this with older version. My workaround was to start my file manager and rename the 64Bit DLL and run the setup again.
  9. zip and upload the file. this is easier.
  10. I've tried it and Setup works, but I can't see a StartButton.
  11. the GPU is fine. This time it is the driver Xeno7x64.sys Total = 41682 for module Xeno7x64.sys Elapsed Time, > 8192 usecs AND <= 16384 usecs, 0, or 0.00% Elapsed Time, > 16384 usecs AND <= 32768 usecs, 1, or 0.00% Total, 41682 Here you have a large spike. This is your BigfootNetworks Killer 2100 network card. The network card share an IRQ with the SATA controller and one USB controller. Update the network driver and disable this USB controller which share the IRQ 19.
  12. it is NDIS.sys. But I need the large .ETL file. Zip and upload the file please.
  13. thanks I also noticed this yesterday.
  14. Do a xbootmgr boot trace and look at the Process Lifetime graph which other tools run at this time.
  15. no, this update seems to work for all editions. It is only labeled Enterprise because it contains many network related hotfixes which are relevant in Enterprise environments.
  16. yes, but uxstyle doesn't work for me. And this tool also works for Windows 8: http://carborunda.deviantart.com/art/Snowy-v2-0-Final-for-Windows-8-358919115
  17. where do you see me, too?

  18. Intel has a technology which is called "Intel Smart Response" which allows you to use a small SSD as cache: http://superuser.com/questions/568674/why-is-my-hybrid-disk-not-active/568719#568719
  19. MS released a new Update which is called "Enterprise hotfix rollup" which also includes the Speedup fixes and many network related fixes. An enterprise hotfix rollup is available for Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2775511/en-us Download the Update from the update catalog (only works with Internet Explorer): http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB2775511
  20. booting to the desktop takes 96s and Windows is fully booted in 104s: <timing bootDoneViaExplorer="96448" bootDoneViaPostBoot="114548" the largest delay is the SMSSinit phase. Here it takes 60s to start the device: "USB\VID_0BDA&PID_0139\20100201396000000" which is your Realtek SD Reader. Update the driver if this is the latest driver, disable the device and only enable it when you need to read/write data to the SD card. Also, please Install the Win7 Sp1! The RTM will be out of support stating with April 2013. To make sure the boot is fast, install the hotfixes:
  21. so the issue is now fixed? In which slot do you the nVIDIA card now?
  22. nice to hear that the issue is fixed Which motherboard do you use? This may help other users who have the same strange issue.
  23. Your NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti shares the IRQ16 with a lot of other devices. Your Gigabyte G1.Guerrilla has 3 PCIe x16 slots. Insert the nVIDIA card into one of the other slots and look if this improves the situation.
  24. I've bought a tool called AveUxThemePatcher some years ago and this works fine. It doesn't patch files on the disk.
