nope. Windows thinks the shutdown is done, so it is a hardware issue. Try to load the default BIOS settings.

shutdown is ok: <timing shutdownTime="8383" servicesShutdownDuration="4136"> complete shutdown takes 8.3 seconds and shutting doewn the services takes 4.1 seconds.

“Jumpstart Wireless Intermediate Driver”

the xperf error should only occur if you have a slow HDD or not enough RAM. The normal xperf allows you to use a higher Buffer value, but xbootmgr doesn't support this You can use ProcessMonitor, go to sleep and resume Windows. Now stop the ProcessMonitor log and filter for duration. Do you see the driver involved there?

for MS, desktop is dead (I already explained their mistake) and that's why they force everyone to use a touch UI.
-
I think you should ask this the support of your TV card manufacture. The trace whould also only show the driver as cause. And this is what you already know. You can try to disable the TV card most of the time and use devcon.exe to enable it via script when you need the TV card. ask cluberti if he has an idea.

I can't help you. HDtach.exe causes the high CPU usage but without debug files (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debug_symbol, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Program_database) I can't see the cause. The user32.dll function receives Windows messages: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/ms644943%28v=vs.85%29.aspx so the tool seems to use them heavily and runs code while handling messages. What do you do with the tool? 1 thing I can see is that you have some DPC spikes caused by the USB Gamer mouse driver (MS1Filter.sys).

you must create a DWORD (32Bit) under parameters and set it to 0. If this still doesn't work, install the feedback tool and send a feedback report. MS promise they read every feedback.

Giving the users a choice during setup is what all logical thinking people expect! I mean the MS point of forcing the users to use 1 UI (metro) on all devices (tablets, phones, PC, laptop) makes no sense. All have different needs and all need a different UI that works best on this specific platform and not 1 UI which works a bit on all. That's why I posted the knife example. You don't have only 1 knife which you use for all tasks. You have different ones which work perfect in their special usage. Zorin is based on an older Ubuntu (11.04 Natty) so you run into issues (Gnome 2.x removed from 11.10).
-
but this doesn't work. You can't have 1 universal thing which works best for all platforms. This doesn't work. Go into your kitchen and look how many different knifes or spoons you have.

try to create the DWORD and set it to the value 0. Does this help?

I thought it might have been that you said something a bit extreme but it looks like you're right. They most definitely are censoring comments. Even the calm, non-threatening, level-headed kind. yes, the b8 blog is extreme censorship. I wonder that some complains about Ribbons were not deleted because a lot of users like the Aero Ribbons from Office 2010 much more: Look at the mock-up from an user who commented there. This look 1000% times better. that's exactly what MS wants and that's why they have their Most Valuable Brown Noser program. Those users you like everything from MS just to be (re-)awarded. This reminds me of the Simpson S08E21 where Mr Burns lost all his money because his layers only said that he did everything right by buying totally useless stocks. That is how Sinosfky thinks about feedback. He only accepts what he wants to hear, nothing else. He did this in Office and also did this in Win7 and now in Windows 8

ok, if you use SATA drive, the new Zero power feature might be the cause : change the value and try again. Also starting with Windows 7, EMPTY drives are hidden by default. So if you don't have a DVD in the drive it is not shown. Also check this, please.
