  1. Sorry but I can't tell nuhi anything I am sure he will read this thread and take your concerns and our finding to mind and maybe allow us to choose later.
  2. HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Driver Signing","Policy",0x00000001,0 HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Driver Signing","BehaviorOnFailedVerify",0x00010001,0 Yup your right just choosing adding drivers makes those tweaks show up. But hey that actually makes some sense. Nuhi could probably however scan the drivers folders for cat files and if all of them have cat file then not add this tweak but I think that would slow down the whole proccess more. All in all (Except for the actual tweaks section as there are a few that still don't work) nLite is a wonderfull tool and you should try it a coupla times with different configurations and I am pretty sure you will find a setup that makes you very happy.
  3. As far as I know HFSlip only adds things to your disk not any removals or other changes (I could be wrong). Plus I am pretty sure nlite will automatically use tweaks if you choose to add drivers that don't have cat file or I could be just plain wrong. give me like 5 minutes and I will run a "Test" with a couple simple things and see what nlite.inf says for tweaks.
  4. All AV progs scan the running proccessess as they start so they take a little while to initialize... Hey at least your not using Nortons.
  5. You need to understand that when you add or remove drivers and remove components you HAVE to have some other modifications done. Otherwise it will all just collapse. I am betting you integrated drivers right? You most likely removed some stuff also. To achieve the desired removal and disk - harddrive ratio you can't simply remove files and call it good you have to make changes so XP doesn't take a big steaming caa-caa on you.
  6. I play alot of RuneScape. P.S. Moving this to the gamers section
  7. Its just the video card and the cards drivers checking resolution and crap. Nothing big to worry about.
  8. This IS THE easiest way to do it and it is freeware. Just give the link a look it's not all that hard!
  9. It's not an error. WHere do you think those wallpapers come from? Thats what background images means.
  10. You're disk woulnd't work if you deleted those file and even if you get past the installation you would constantly get WFP popups. It is much better to start over again using nLite and choosing direct integration while disable SFC thus getting rid of the need for most of thaose files.
  11. Winkey + r brings up the runbox.
  12. Going off of the official icon for the control panel it does have a border just browse the LightScribe dir in you program files\common folder and you'll see that. So I cannot do much about that unless I rebuilt the icon without a border. I did rebuild the cpl & cpi files though so the name is right now sorry about that.
  13. Ummmmmmmmmm their is a %reboot% function built into WPI now.
  14. Thats what silent switches are used for. Please use USSF from the config section and search the applications installs section of this forum for all the answers you need. Other than that there is no more help I can give you without knowing the names of the apps you are installing... P.S. Welcome to MSFN!
  15. Well first off those files are in the temp dir so I would begin be deleting them through fedora. They might be linked to a virus. Empty the whole temp folder out while you are at it. also can you edit xp's regitry somehow through fedora? if you can you might want to check your hklm run section and see if anything funny is there. If not get a copy of UBCD for windows (Freeware) and you can use that to modify and clean your windows out. P.S. I have never used Fedora so I have no clue how much capabilities you have in it.
  16. HEY I kinda like them...
  17. You need the ident files on the cd. Win51 win51** and the one that ends with SP2
  18. It extracts itself to the temp folder then updates your source and only after that does it delete the temp folder. See the SP has more files in it than is needed when you "Slipstream" a cd it has files for all 3 versions of XP (Pro, Home and MCE) plus it has files for when you are doing an inplace install of it on a running system. What nLite does is call it with an /integrate switch so it copies over all of the needed files after extaction and updates your source (Thats where you copied your XP files to) then deletes the temp folder. It's ok to ask away but please do remember the fabulous words "Google Search" and that this forum has a search engine also feel free to use them as resourses most of your basic questions are easily answered by doing a simple google search. My msn or "WLM" as its now called is kelsenellenelvian@hotmail.com so feel free to chat with me at anytime... ALso as a little side note you may want to start nLite and update it with SP2 and make an iso out of just the new XP with SP2 integrated so you have an "Updated" source to copy from thus easily skipping that step everytime you decide to try something different with nLite.
  19. EWWWWWWWWW YELLOW LOL j/k superb work...
  20. No sorry for the confusion. The XP files stay in the folder where you copied them or had nLite copy them. The SERVICE PACK files normally, as MS made it to do, extracts to the drive with the most free space in a temp folder with a random name like "9826310746012756401752344" and then after integration deletes the temp folder. And yes nLite does its job well and doesn't lose files or folders (Unless of course you tell it to lose them ) P.S. WELCOME TO MSFN!
  21. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Associations] "LowRiskFileTypes"=".hta;" Save this as a reg file and run it on each machine BEFORE you run WPI on them any more. It really should do the job.
  22. OK I assume from the pic that it is XP right? You need to manually add .hta files to the allowed list of files to run let me get a reg file that "Should" do the trick for you.
  23. Why is this a problem? The SP extracts to the drive with the most free space and then deletes its self afterwards.
