  1. The way nlite integrates hotfixes makes it impossible to reverse as it completely Over-writes the old files with the new ones. It would be easier getting a part-time job and bying a new XP Pro off like amazon or EBAY then it would be to reverse even a handfull of hotfixes....
  2. You are way overdoing and overthinking things. The needed way to do it is slipstream sp3, IE7 and WMP11. THEN goto Windows update and running it then you can see whats missing, (Like almost nothing right now.) Doing it your way creates file version conflicts and also makes alot of newer files and overwriting reg entries. Plus wastes alot of time and energy. You are obviously familiar with Ryans site so please go over there and PM him and ask to be added to the beta testers group. I will vouch for you if needed. Nlite is really smart but will still try to do everthing you are making it. You don't get the reports because you are not enabling them (It's in the advanced section of the hotfixes page) All you need right now is : SP3 IE7 WMP11 + 1 hotfix WindowsXP-KB941569-x86-ENU.EXE (integrated with Booggy's excellent slipstreamer. And ryans sp3 beta pack
  3. You have the windows installer 3.1 or SP3 integrated or installed first right? Also it says .net 2 is needed for some gadjets
  4. Nothing is wrong with your WPI. You just don't have ie7 installed. Either install IE7 or convert the buttons to .gif or .png8 formats for proper transparency in IE6.
  5. Try using /passive for the switch instead.
  6. See above I added one for you.
  7. No but there are several tiny free apps out there that will sync the time for you... Heres a free super easy to automate one for you.
  8. Hirens' is warez and not discussed here. You won't find any help for that.
  9. Yeah you'll get a prompt but you should be able to just click next and go on.
  10. Yes, but you CAN select in Nlite to merge them all with the main driver.cab file. That way you get all the newest ones and if you select max compresion you can save a bit of space. HAHAHH I did that with a test setup I was doing and I actually saved space over a just gold to xpsp3 disk. Still don't quite get it though. Oh and remember to select Delete duplicate files.
  11. Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI for short) is a hypertext application designed for giving users choice. While Windows XP offers many ways of customizing the setup process out of the box, its major drawback is the lack of being able to select which applications an end user may install. In the past, end users and administrators needed to either download the files manually, or create overly complex scripts that could only be used once. WPI allows you to create one image, which can then be custom configured, and optionally, automated, so that end users can install any applications that have been configured into WPI. PNG Collection. ________________________________________________________ Here is a small tutorial on how to add an app to WPI! Ok this is a sample (Very simple) configuration for CCleaner (A.K.A Crap Cleaner) This assumes you have all of the WPI files either in the WPI folder at the root of your Windows cd or all of the WPI folders (Common, Graphics, WPIScripts, Tools, Install and Themes) and the file WPI.hta at the root of your cd. Remember this is just the most basic and required entries for a program! #1 Download the app and place it in the WPI\Install Folder. (CCleaner.exe in this example) #2 Run WPI.hta and click on the "Config" button\Icon area. #3 Choose the button at the very top above the config section that says "Add" #4 Enter in the name section "CCleaner" <--No quotes! Then click on any other section of the config area to activate the rest of the wizard. #5 You will notice the Unique ID section gets automatically configured for you. #6 All apps are selected to be installed by default right from the start so if you don't want it selected by default you must uncheck this box. Also you can decide if you want this app to be a "Forced Install" or not. #7 Choose a category for your app to be displayed in. If you want the app to be displayed in a category you don?t see simply chose other and a box will appear that will allow the entry of you choice. #8 In the Command 1 section click on the little folder icon and browse to the WPI\Install folder and select the CCleaner.exe installer, this will place the full path to the installer in the commandline. #9 Add the necessary switches for the program to run silently i.e. "%wpipath%\Install\CCleaner.exe" /s (This can be easily done for most standard apps by simply clicking on the USSF button on the far right of the commandline.) #10 Select the Save and then the Exit buttons and you have now configured your first app! Afterwards you can use an app like nLite, vLite, CDImageGUI or the Makeiso program included in the tools archive to make your CD w\WPI bootable again. MakeIso.exe = Adds "make bootable iso" to the right click menu of folders. It is a silent installer so DO NOT click on it 50x a simple double click is all that is need to install it. It can be uninstalled from the add\remove programs menu! Just go to the "Source" folder (The one that contains I386 and WPI) and right click then select MakeISO... Themes are now hosted on WPI.net!!! Theme page! Please remember and donate!
  12. You CANNOT make 2 cd setup like MCE. You need to use an app like WPI (Look at my signature) to install your extra apps from a second disk.
  13. SP3 is reportedly not going to work with MCE from what I have heard
  14. KK got ya Goanna put a refresh version up soon in the next coupla days anyways!
  15. Works fine for me. Did you get banned?
  16. Yes that would be the correct change. As for auto-it I know they have EXtensive forums and also make SURE you get scite for auto-it 3. IT really helps ALOT in making scripts.
  17. Yeah this slipstream process uses the current OS'es api and thus wrecks havok on a SP3 slipstream. You need to do it in XP.
  18. They are migrating ALL of their sites to need the darned silverlight prog so it's not really going to be optional soon its going to be needed... BUT you do have a point with that. Also though remember SP3 isn't officially out yet so they haven't released new hotfixes yet with the SP3 code in them therefore WU will not have many updates on it yet.
  19. Ie7 is still an "Optional" release!
  20. Are you doing your work in Vista or Win 2008?
  21. Aha ok I get it! You say we needed to add "var" to it. Too little sleep.
