  1. Getting back on topic: Alpha 1 is released. Download link is http://www7.rapidupload.com/d.php?file=dl&filepath=19254]here. I don't expect any issues with it, but if there are any BIG issues, let me know right away. Thanks for your comments guys. the_guy
  2. @Camarade_Tux: I just noticed in your hfslip.log file that you include 839643 and DirectX9c. DirectX9c includes 839643. Maybe remove 839643 from your source? the_guy
  3. As we are talking about renaming descriptions, might I suggest renaming 830849 to Just a suggestion, for clarity's sake. Does anyone else agree with me?the_guy
  4. I get it now. I thought that that was an issue at one time. It's porbably long-fixed by now. the_guy
  5. What I mean is: I have XP SP2 in my source folder. It has MSXML 3 SP5. I put MSXML 3 SP7 in to be slipstremed (msxml3.msi in HF). Will I have d1,msxml3.dll showing up twice in my dosnet.inf? That's what I meant. That list you posted is quite good, thanks Tomcat. the_guy
  6. @Tomcat: I just read my question, and it doesn't apply to 2000 as 891861 is what introduces MSXML 3. What I meant was, XP SP2 includes MSXML 3 SP5, and if I were to slipstream MSXML 3 SP7, would there be duplicate entries? They both include msxml3(a/r).dll. the_guy
  7. I know HFSLIP recently added support for MSXML2, but I have 2 questions: 1)If I were to slipstream MSXML 3 SP7 on 2000/XP (2003 SP1 includes it), would I have duplicate entries in txtsetup.sif/doesnet.inf? 2)Is KB832414 supported for MSXML 2.5 on 2000 SP4 (included in XP SP2 (not sure about SP1) and 2003 SP1)? Other that that, Looks great Tomcat. the_guy
  8. @MDGx: Can you also let this update install on a 2000 system? It's just that WMP9 will install on 2000 without any files being signed. I think this is because 2000 just included WMP 6.4. the_guy
  9. I think the shell32.dll patch would also install on 95 with the Active Desktop Update installed. Can anyone confirm/deny? the_guy
  10. @erpdude8: They are included in dxnt.cab, but 98/ME install using directx.cab instead, which does NOT include KB872901/KB836880. the_guy
  11. @Gagorian: IE6.0sp1-KB918899-Windows-2000-XP-v3-x86-ENU.exe does NOT replace IE6.0sp1-KB918439-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe. Just thought I'd note that 896422 is replaced by 917159/891861. the_guy

    New updates

The MCE version of 902344 looks for 2 registry keys on your computer. They are not included on a non-MCE install. Slipstreaming the update should include it though. the_guy
  13. To me, the way it works is that IE uses the files in the SYSTEM directory, and Windows Explorer uses the regsvr32'd files. Why, I have no idea. Also, alpha 1 should be available this weekend. I'm just fine-tuning it now. There will probably be an alpha 2 release a couple of weeks after to add new files from the October update release. the_guy

    New updates

I just read from the Unattended Install forum that MU doesn't show WGA Notifications anymore. Should this be removed from HFSLIP? the_guy
  15. I had problems this morning, but this afternoon all was well. the_guy
  16. No problem. Thanks for the fast response TAiN. the_guy
  17. Hello all, I just thought I'd point it out that forums with announcements in them don't seem to work. I get the following error: Fatal error: Cannot call abstract method skin_forum_7::announcement_row() in /home/msfnorg/public_html/board/sources/action_public/forums.php on line 471 the_guy
  18. The fileset is used to remove IE and a lot of other stuff from a Windows 2000 install. www.vorck.com is his site. the_guy
  19. The post SP4 Rollup is listed, it's under September 2005. The reason that it startys in February 2005 is that all previous updates (and most from before April 30, 2005, with the exception of 842773) are replaced by the Rollup. Also, 832483 was replaced by MS06-014 for 2000 and MDAC 2.5 SP3 (MDAC 2.8 SP1 includes the fix). the_guy
  20. Microsoft has said that. Look at the file version in the bulletin. the_guy
  21. Also, MDGx. What I did to my VGX update was used the files from 833989, and modified the INF files to be 925486 (bottom 5 lines in string section). I also added the nircmd method to REPLACE the sucatreg.exe method. Then I just packaged it together. I'll send it to you sometime if you want. the_guy
  22. The only cat file included is for 2000, and I'm positive it won't work in ME. Can someone clarify this for me? the_guy
  23. @MDGx: I'll probably be sending you some Internet Explorer 6 SP1 updates redone. The one for 925486 will add the KB number in the Help->About section. the_guy
  24. Thanks for posting the fixes MDGx. I made a vgx.dll patch based on the official one form Microsoft, link for it is in Petr's thread about the vulnerability. Also, the 919587 patch for 9x/nt4/me does not require nircmd.exe as msxml3 files are not protected by sfp. the_guy

    New updates

No problem. Microsoft has a list that show when they do changes on WU/MU. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/894199. the_guy
