now if only I knew how I fixed it I've only tested SkinSetting using Winamp Modern and Winamp Classic. I took the settings fron the INI file saved upon exit. Since you haven't tried the new version yet, I'm going to assum your registration is working now. I'll check the xmodernskin. But that only installs support, it does not activate it by default unless you use SKINSETTING= with a modern skin. See if the support is installed. I just silently updated the MSI. There was a bug with the out_wave.dll that the ini entries in winamp.ini weren't correct for. THey're fixed now. Yea I wish I knew too so you could help the other people having problems. Oh well. I tried your silent update and everything still works for me.

for klite codec pack use /LOADINF="put path here/name of file.inf" to make inf <-- (don't this with ur unattended, setup in os u currently are using) and (do this with ur unattended cd) --> /SAVEINF="put path here/name of file.inf" instead of listing all the components.

I did use quotes around the strings and they still didn't work. I will try the new download and see what happens. Alanoll keep up the good work.

Installs quicklaunch in systemroot which has this directory structure C:\C:\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Winamp.lnk Another error I found. Still its not serious just a minor quirk. Again Alanoll thanks for your efforts.

*Update* Xuser doesnt put my name in registry instead there is a 0 in its place. I tried with and without the ini. It puts the Xkey value in the registry but thats it.

the switches don't work for me in VMware or otherwise. Maybe its nLite fault. Oh well I will keep trying. nevermind i got it. Alanoll good work with msi. It works great.

installlrite or an autoit script is probably the best solution. I used an sfx before I learned how do more advanced methods of silent installing.

/S /v/qn = silent installation. Adobe Audition uses windows installer.

You have a couple of options. One you could repackaged it into a rar sfx exe (easy), two you could use installrite for a silent install, three create an autoit script. Either of there options work. Reg Organizer doesn't have any switches for the installer chemtable uses.

i've tried to do the same with the netfx.cab with no luck. For now I guess we gotta stick with the redist installer. Maybe Alanoll or someone could help with this.

You could also make an autoit script like I did for Mass Downloader which uses the same type of install as Download Express.

I didn't know avast antivirus used inno setup. Last time I tried it (about three weeks ago) it wasn't. That's news to me. Oh well.

zoster i understand what you are saying but i have had not so pleasant experiences with eMule and some people like overnet better than eMule like me. I would just say look for overnet lite. It uses inno setup.

if i'm not mistaken cool edit pro (now adobe audition) uses installshield. So all you would need to do is find switches for installshield. You could try using -r and trying creating a setup.iss file.

i think divx uses /S switch

yea mazin right it uses inno. you can check the thread he linked to or check unattended.msfn.org for inno switches.

my2001 it is not wrong for you do so. people just want to be able to use the installer because it creates the right registry entries and shortcuts for firefox. At least thats what i gather from this thread. mooj made an autoit script for firefox and thunderbird using the installer(s). You could try that way if ya want. Later.
