When i was working at a online computer parts supplier, the most hard drives we had back where maxtor, the least was between seagate and Western Digital, Hitachi where middle. When compared to the amount sold, it wasnt down to the fact of selling more maxtors than other drives, there wasnt hat much of a bigger difference. I have also spoken to a data recorecy agency once for a customer, and they had mostly maxtors back as well.

the PSU is a Aopen one i had with a case a few years ago, just stuck with it when i changed cases! looking at a tagan one...

could be a faulty external housing for the drive, have seen it before when i used to work at a computer company, drive is probably totally fine, hard drive case may be faulty.

i got the A7N8X-Deluxe board, works sweet for me still! if you are planning on staying with amd for a bit, take it, but if u are gona upgrade go with above comments...ill keep my socket A until it dies! (board or cpu )

i had a similar problem with a comp, what happened with me, is i plugged in a removeable drive, did exactly what u said...after looking, i thought about disabling the media card reader the comp had built in (dunno if urs has one)...after i disabled it, the removable drive worked!

i double checked, it is a 250 watt! lol, running that hardware, plus 6 fans and a neon light...i can't believe it myself! Ive seen a Tagan 370W for £44....

yeh, i mean its just a PSu iv'e moved from case to case, lol, its an Aopen one, had it years! im really surprised it runs the way it does! lol cheap stores for PSU's? psu recomendation?

oh my word! im gonna be upgarading to a 200gb sata drive, at the mo i got 2 IDE drives, i want to be able to still use them with my new sata with windows on it... first take a look at my system... Am I correct in saying this... When you patch the directory, you do this before you nLite it, and that it gives you all the Xpized icons already installed when you do a fresh install of XP? BUT, does it include the Royale theme? along with taskswitch? or do you have to just install them after windows is installed?

I love the sims also, got sims 2 university, havent got nightlife yet...am curious as to what it is really like though!

If I can afford software I'll buy it, such as a screensaver u might like, winzip, winamp etc.. When it comes to software such as office, macromedia, adobe, its just so **** expensive, and i don't use it enough, or even make money from it myself from what i do with it to be able to afford it! some software you may want to buy, its cheap, u use it alot, like winamp/winzip...yet the ways in which you have to pay for it online just doesnt suite you for whatever reason - country you live in, types of payment they take....so in one sense you have no choice but to work round it! with music, i agree with whats being said about you only really like the song you hear on the radio etc. also with games, you buy a pc game from a shop/online, you know its specs work with your machine, but for some reason it just wont work...you give up trouble shooting....or you may not like the full game....so you go back to the shop and say you want your money back, they say nope as they dont take back pc games....totally stupid....its almost encuraging piracy!

ok, i was trying out a shell pack (i have tried contacting the author, no luck), and it installed a windrive.ico to make the system drive icon look different, now ive removed the pack, and the icon is still set, yet i cant find the icon to delete, system search, nothing, yet if i go into command prompt and type c:\windrive.ico, it wants to open it...:S any ideas how to restore the windrive icon to default?

i do like lclock, but using standard atm!

how can i restore the shell32.dll file? can i do it in safe mode? dotn ask why, just need to know how i can do it, as the file is used in windows it wont let it get changed in window sitself...

@nobodyuse, when i came to uninstall this pack on my testing machine, it left the windrive.ico on my main c drive, i cant change it back to default, tried searching for the file no luck...any help with that?

for some reasons, on my windows login page i get 45 unread emails from my brother msn account....how can i get rid of this or change it? i cant figure it out, played with my winodws .ney passport, messenegr etc...
