  1. Nice to see another Command Script fan, even if a recent convert!
  2. Yes, yes, I like that one! Thanks, X! (Already copied and pasted into my master WINNT.SIF, that always bugged me.)
  3. Thanks for sharing that, japo, and I hope that can help some install the MUI support. XPCREATE, however, will only use command line scripts, and not VBS/Javascript/AutoIt type solutions, so you are on your own there.
  4. Looking forward to the list! Thanks!
  5. As Alanoll suggests, the problem is most likely in the burn or ISO. Troubleshooting would include testing the ISO in VPC/VMWare, using a tool such as CDCHECK, trying different hardware, or a simple re-run. These problems are rarely XPCREATE specific. Welcome to MSFN, JOHN_QUE_PUBLIC!
  6. Gotta aggree with Alanoll: the "double click" sure does eliminate a lot of potential user errors! (Makes coding and documentation a whole lot easier, too!) And as Wraith says: it is not like there is a whole lot of interaction. As for drivers, apart from the SATA integration, XPCREATE does not have any special mechanism for adding drivers: it is done just as described in the MSFN guide.
  7. My understanding is the iOpus uses the IE engine. In that case, I would think that setting the proxy in IE should be sufficient. That is, however, mere speculation ... Debugging the downloader is not in the planning for the near future. Let us know if you find a solution.
  8. Yes, Microsoft has released a few patches lately that cannot be both slipstreamed and run in DOS installs. 8.3 names will not work without some 8.3:Long file name conversion table, which is not covered by the Microsoft slipstreaming process. Your only recourse is to NOT slipstream the offending hotfixes. Still ... Wecome to MSFN, friend from down-under!
  9. Good point about the cache: it could be a cache type problem on Macromedia's part, or a server farm that has non-syncronized, multiple copies of the same file. I have a feeling this one does not have long to live on the list ...
  10. Wraith? Isn't that the ex-Linux user who used to code XPnnnn stuff? Guess I'll have to peek in, and pick up the stray volunteers! As always, I'll be around for free criticism... (Giving, never taking!) Oh yeah, good to see you around, Wraith! Good luck with the last of the exams!
  11. The tools for commercial use of XPCREATE WILL NOT be distributed in a freely downloadable distribution. I understand and know that many, many users do not respect the EULA, and use XPCREATE in a commercial environment without contacting me. However, do you not feel even a tad bit guilty with such flagrant License Agreement violations, and asking for my time to make modifications to this end? If you use XPCREATE in a commercial environment you (more specifically, your company) are/is profiting from the program. In effect, XPCREATE is either making your company money, or saving your company money. I, however, am providing you with what turns into a free service, which is in turned used for profit. That is not right ... Furthermore, you have modified the code to work as you like, which is also against my wishes, and the EULA you accepted upon XPCREATE installation. I must express my dismay and disappointment, and admit such things make me wonder if I should be here at all ... I will gladly consider any suggestions and improvements, as I have done in the past. I wish you, the XPCREATE users, would consider honoring the EULA. For those interested, I can be contacted by PM, or at the email address listed in my signature.
  12. Thanks, tdat, and welcome to MSFN! I do not have the exact list for Korean, but you can get the KB numbers from the English List (on Web Site), search for the Korean versions using Windows Update Catalog, and using either Windows Update or WIndows Update Catelog download the files, and find the URLs in the Windows UPdate.log file in the Windows directory. You then put the updates in the SVC-* directories, XPCREATE, install, and verify using Windows Update until you have all updates installed, except 817778 and the new DXPlay update (forgot the number ... ), until you have it as good as you can. Finally, follow the instructions above to create the list. All help is appreciated, and even a partial list is a step in the right direction. Thanks again, and good luck!
  13. I suspect that there is a directory Administrator in $OEM$\$Docs that causes the problem, though I cannot be sure. This is copied before thr user is created. I have seen it cause problems before. I understand about the English: that was the same reason I gave all my Utilisateurs when they discovered everything in English. Out of the 30 odd users, only one managed to convince me to re-install in French ... and she has been paying for it ever since!
  14. You have two Administrators (Administrator.Athlon2600 and Administrator) because when the Administrator is created, a dirctory name Administrator already, thus XP creates a new one, with a different name. Behaviour by design. Other than that, why is it Administrator, and not Administrateur? Tu n'install pas en English, comme meme?
  15. Well, in that case, I think we've clarified, and beaten this horse dead!
  16. I wasn't correcting you, jrzycrim, (as you were right ... ) I just re-itterated because this has been a point of confussion too many times.
  17. As suggested, disable the Themes Service, and you will never have to deal with them again! A small clarification: HKEY_CURRENT_USER is the registry tree for User Setting of the logged on user. HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT is the tree for default settings when NO user is logged on, i.e. BEFORE user logon.
  18. Welcome, bunkee, to MSFN! I really do not understand why SWFLASH is causing so much trouble: it always works fine on a clean XPCREATE run for me. However, others do not seem to be as fortunate. I am very, very close to removing it from the Download Lists, leaving only the option to manually include it in the SVC-SWF directory. Works for me ...
  19. Welcome, gravity, to MSFN! Virindi is correct again: we have no Japanese Hotfix List, and my Japanese is ... non-existant. There are instuctions in this forum on how to create the list, and mail it in for inclusion. And, as usual, error reporting without the LOGFILES.CAB does not give me enough information.
  20. Virindi has it right: it is not an XPCREATE issue. Still, if I knew the answer I would tell you. But I don't: try, as suggested, the Drivers Forum.
  21. If you are XPCREATING according to the list of Current Hotfixes from the Web Site, you should not have this problem. If so ... please attach the file LOGFILES.CAB from the NEWFILES directory. 831167 is the WININET.DLL update. If QCHAIN is NOT used, a later update will overwrite this file with an older version.
  22. Pretty, pretty please? ("Don't beg: you look like a dog" - J-Lo, Enough) @Loubi: (Oui, toi!) IE6 for Win2K was added on, and not "thought out" as much as it could be. I will look into improving this code next time I pass that way. However, Windows 2000, SUS/RIS servers, etc., are, in 99% of the cases, used only in commercial environments. XPCREATE as distributed is neither intended for, nor licensed for, use in a commercial environment. As specified in the EULA accepted upon XPCREATE installation, if you plan to use XPCREATE in a commercial environment, please contact me. On a more positive note ... thanks for the bug report!
  23. Tack ska du har, ToBe! Slowly but surely, we are getting there!
  24. Looking good, Radimus. Always nice to see someone contribute their ideas/work. Keep us posted as to when there is a download, so I can send you some users for whom XPCREATE is not the answer!
  25. xper, you are going to spoil me ... I admit, I did not read the MSFN Home Page News article about new Google options, where it mentioned possible revenue, before my last post. If the more prominent placement of the Google box results in increased revenue, then obviously I understand. I was not aware of a possible "kick-back". Once again, I owe my most humble thanks to xper. Tak!
