I'm thinking to just disable the standby option because this laptop battery is dead and right now I am just having it plugged in instead of using the battery. Atleast I can do this until I get a new battery for it. I don't know what else to do, besides it has never done this before, maybe its caused of SP3 or low about of memory? Not 100 percent sure, But this **** laptop only has 512mb and so I got 1 gig of ram for it and using a 256 to make it 1.25gb. Atleast it will be faster now. Anyways, Thanks for the help guys! Atleast we tried.

Not bad, VLC is great for playing almost any video. But I normally use WMP and VLC.

Yeah I don't that game. its pretty fun, its like a puzzle too. But for some reason the sound never works on that game for me.

Nah I hardly doubt its anything to do with the bios, Bios is only a Basic Input/Output System. The only two reasons I can think is the CPU or the PSU. I have had motherboards that I knew were completely shot and the fans ran fine, but no post. Anyways, It also could be the Ram, seating issues can cause this or bad memory module. Or maybe the mobo is really shot. But it sounds like you tried every thing, checked cables, tried other parts, unplug devices, etc. The thing I do is checked all the internal cabling, make sure everything is seating properly, make sure any devices is in working condition. Well I did my best. But most of the time the Bios chip is soldered and is really hard to replace, unless its a very very old motherboard. Well I hope I helped. -Nick

Well I looked into this and done everything those webpages said to do, and not that they don't work, its just those options I don't seem to have for some reason. Since I am using a wireless card in this laptop. But it sucks repairing it over and over.

I was on a timecrunch so I had to make a decision, so I got this Editmax or what ever it calls, It has decent reviews, I had to get the one that has the wire one cause where the computer is going to be, Its not my computer, but its for my uncle. So yeah.

I looked up that wireless card on Newegg and most of the reviews were pretty bad. It would save me some money since that Linksys was 40 bucks and this is like 20 bucks cheaper!

I was going to use them for monitor. Since my new screen has 4USB ports on it and I was going to use one of these to plug the built in USB hub from the screen to my computer. I wanted a blue LED cable for looks and for fun But I don't if I should get them.. There cheap so why not? Yeah, Just wondenig what you guys thought. The Card reader I really am not sure about. I don't know if its good or not. I don't want to spend too much.

Alright so heres the problem, I been trying to figure this problem out for a while and maybe its right in front of me, but here we go. So when me or my dad shuts the laptop screen, it will go into standby and when it starts back up the wireless never connects most of the time. It will come up with the little "!" in a triangle and in order to get online I gotta click Repair or do the ipconfig /release and ipconfig / renew. I'm just getting sick of doing this every single time. So i'm just wondering if there was something I can do that will fix this once in for all. Thanks Guys - Nick

Thanks guys, After thinking about it... I don't really need a KVM Switch... I'll be getting a new desk soon (Producer desk) so I will have 2 computers for use, with separate mouse and keyboard. Thats my goal. Instead I am going to get a Card Reader (external one, cause I am a photographer) and getting some Ram for my farther's laptop. Thanks for the great info though!

Alright, So I been wanting to get a KVM switch to switch between my File Server and my Computer for a while now. And I think I am going to do it. But I may decided to not do it at all. The only issue, is that I have a USB Mouse and a PS/2 Keyboard and I read some comments and they say it wont work and some say it works with adapter. I'm thinking to get this adapter http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16812107701 and hopefully that will work with he KVM switch, I mean it should. So I don't know and I'm wondering what you guys think I shoulden't notice much different in mouse speed right?
