Display Sleep after XP SP2 install
gunsmokingman replied to jimdrake's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Could you not break this into 2 part. 1:\ Install one part threw the standard $OEM$\$1\Drivers\002_graphics then have the rest of the install continue and reboot. 2:\ Then you could install the second part threw the RunOnceEX.cmd, since this run after the reboot. -
I will explain my reply so you can understand it, since I was not sure what BoardBabe wanted, and I was guessing, My reply was This seems to imply is the question about your winnt.sif, if so this would comfirm that it was ok. Since I did not provide any other information, then my reply would mean that if it was for the winnt.sif then yes it was OK to do that. If it was for some thing else then BoardBabe would of posted another question to witch if I could of reply to it I would. I hope this explains it to you a lot better.

Change CD-Rom Drive letter for unattended XP
gunsmokingman replied to Kalz's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
1:\ On Vista it show the change drive letter in Explorer after the script runs. 2:\ Yes it possible 3:\ Yes it possible Kalz Just cut and paste the second script I post and save as a file with a VBS extention, then try it, as I said I have only tested this script on Vista, and have not tested it on any other OS. So I do not know what it runs like on XP W2K W3K. I write scripts to see if I can crash Vista so that what that script was for originally for. It just one of the ways I test Vista. -
I only put in that in as a force of habit. This is the same script as Yzöwl, but I have added a open the folder then it waits for you to close the folder then it deletes the folder.

Your welcome, hope what I added helps your project. The text file is left on the user desktop. -
Here is the advantage of using a VBS, you do not have to relay on 3rd party programs. The script I posted will hide the cmd window completly. No flashes Example script Save As Hide_HideWindowComSpec.vbs Here is a SFX file that will run the above VBS scriptI Gunsmokingman give all users full permission to do what ever they want with this script. HideWindowComSpec.exe

Change CD-Rom Drive letter for unattended XP
gunsmokingman replied to Kalz's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Here is the full script I was tired when I first posted and tried to make it smaller, I have only tested this on Vista, and it works. I have not test this on any other OS. Run it before the RunOnceEx.cmd is processed in a Ua Install, because if you run it after the RunOnceEx.cmd it may produce a error. Example Only -

You can use a VBS script to hide the batch Example After the batch has completed it will display a message box that will close it self in 7 seconds.

gunsmokingman replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I will have to remeber using double quotes if the chr(34) does not work. You may want to try a script like this this to install, I tested this on Vista to install Winamp, it worked. Another way using a Array -
Syntax Problem with VBScript

All this because he could not read the hta in notepad, but then again it takes some intelligence to read things. I do not code to wreck machines I code to help people, to say what you shows how little you know about scripts and the members here. Since I have now over 900 posts and have been a member here for a while, the SFX, HTA, VBS scripts are totally safe to use. Since I have not recieved any complaints about the stuff I posted here, or there are not any warings about my SFX,HTA,VBS scripts, only a moron would say what you did.

You would have to edit the theme it self to change the width of the start menu.

Well the new build was release a couple of days ago, and here are some of my views on it. 1:\ This was the first build I had troubles installing, it took me 3 attempts to get it to install once. I had to disconnect my printer and web camera so the install could finish, this was the first time during the beta I had to do this. 2:\ Alcohol 120 I tried to install this and see if Vista could handle it. This cause my computer to blue screen. On the reboot Vista would load it desktop and then a blue screen would happen, this even happen in safe mode. It got to the point where even the Log On screen would appears followed by the blue screen. My fix was to format and re install Vista. 3:\ Windows Explorer while still buggy it has gotten faster on my computer. 4:\ The amount of process used by Vista seems to have been made smaller, the last build for my desktop and nothing running I was at 40 services. This build just the desktop running it down to 35 services.
