  1. Sounds like the HDD is bad. Or you have a corrupted MBR, likely from a virus or malware.
  2. Sounds like your PC hardware is having trouble with cold boots. This may be an early sign of bad caps on the motherboard.
  3. You have to run that if you use Firefox to download some files from Microsoft. That program is supposed to give you a code then you copy-paste it to the download section of Microsoft. You have to run that for some Microsoft downloads with Windows 2000 and if using Firefox or Opera.
  4. You need to test your hardware. Use Memtest86 and scan your HDD.
  5. -Please delete- You're seeing this message, because the message board is prohibiting me from deleting the post.
  6. That may be because of the power supply not being enough for that ATI card and not enough power for your RAM and video card at the same time.
  7. You may be dead in the water, because of the M0 stepping, because you may be required to flash the BIOS with an older processor. Your motherboard may give you nothing but a black screen and fans spinning without flashing the BIOS.
  8. Those file system errors sound like an AC power failure. Did your power go out or your PC shut down?
  9. Sounds like you're saying that you integrated Windows Media Player 9 hotfixes and Windows Media Player 11. Did you? SP2 comes with Windows Media Player 9. If you integrated Windows Media Player 9 hotfixes, then that likely is why Windows Media Player is messed up.
  10. I gotten that or similar with Windows 2000 before, because I was required to download a file from Microsoft. I thought that maybe all Windows 2000 users were screwed. But, I see this is with XP. Thus, more likely to be a server-side problem. More likely a Microsoft server having technical difficulties.
  11. This error has nothing to do with the pagefile. The "storage space available" it speaks of is either kernel pool or desktop heap - remember, only the memory manager knows about RAM and the page file, not a running process; they only see 2GB of VA. This isn't a memory manager error speaking of VA, it's an error of pool or heap. I seen errors that remind me of that before when I disabled virtual memory. (pagefile) Especially PCs with limited RAM. Looks like that, to me, especially if that error code occurs with all services. Those conditions may cause all future memory allocations to fail. Because of all memory spaces running out, because it can't page any more to HDD at all!
  12. I definitely agree. Also, you can get that main stop error code (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA) if you installed incompatible RAM or have a bad RAM slot. Gotten that error code before after installing another 128 MB PC133 SDRAM module to an IBM PC300 GL. (Pentium III Katmai 533 Mhz with 133 MHz FSB) Surprised me, because the RAM module was fine with a couple of Via KT133 based motherboards.
  13. Oh, the dreaded 100 percent processor usage report bug. That bug isn't new to me. I used to get that problem with Windows 98 SE. It seems to do that even when nothing is completely tying up the processor! Windows 2000 and Windows XP are immune from this phenomenon.
  14. What do you mean by licensing reasons? (I hope you don't think I'm nosy for asking this question.)
  15. Likely because no pagefile or the pagefile is too small. You may have ran out of HDD space! Please make sure you have a pagefile of at least around 50 MB and try again.
  16. If this occurred suddenly, you're Windows installation source is corrupted!
  17. Some of that Microsoft information isn't very helpful! The pagefile is NOT required to be the same size as the RAM or bigger!
  18. Why don't you at least get a 350 W that's Antec or Fortron? I already know you don't need some killer 700W or even 500W! Some PSUs may make things worse.
  19. Sounds like Vista may be using the wrong drivers. (not for your hardware)
  20. Your BIOS may be reporting none for HDDs. Does your HDD have any jumpers?
  21. Possibly the CD drive. LiteOn CD drives are tempermental. You may be required to warm it up by placing your hand on the bottom of the CD drive and on the door for in to not randomly stop on you or read improperly! LiteOns seem more sensitive to lower temps! I have a LiteOn that's like that, loves to randomly stop responding or read improperly if I don't warm the CD drive up with my hands before running Windows Setup!
  22. Anyone else come across this?
  23. Your RAM or processor may be overclocked too much. If you're overclocking your processor, increase the Vcore.
  24. This error message sounds like a Windows setting, the one that blocks non-digitally signed drivers! This may be simply because Windows is reporting an error.
