I had this same problem on 98 about a year ago. Ire-formated, reinstalled and did all that i could think of, but nothing worked. after a few months my hard drive ate s***. Im not sure if its some kind of warning that you drive is about to bite it. but if i were you i would get a new drive backup the data and just copy it over. And with Hd being so cheep now..there is no reason not to -drew

Buddy you mistook my question, first i wanted to know how to get it to run on start up.....now that i have in running on start up, i want the small icon on the tray to not be there, as if i had checked the "Hide Icon" perminatly -drew

How do you get CoolInfo to start up in the hide option? -drew

Man! 24x burn! what your time on an average Cd? Cd to Cd? and HD To CD? I have a TDK 12x and i burn a full Cd (600-750mb) in like 6mins i just dont see the need to burn that quickly! -drew

I havent installed tweakXp yet, but i have used TweakUI..is that known to cause problems aswell? -drew

If you upgraded there would be a serious change in speed of everything. But all depends on what you use your computer for. If you just go on the internet, use word and play games that dont have serois grafix, then dont bother, but if you play games like Max Pyne, Unreal tournament ect, then a cpu upgrade, as well as a nice grafix card would help alot -drew

For some reason when i brought up a webpage while i had the contol panel up the right side which has defalt backround color of a blueish purple, has changed to white. i have no idea why this happened, nor how to change. anyone got a clue? -drew

Yup Xperties, i followed the directions closley, but when i clicked the newest bin file, and tryed to optimise it it says that there were no drives detected..i think this has to do with my on board Ultra66. My award bios has never detected my drives, they have always been detected by the Ultra66 bios setup that come up a bit after the first bios runthrough. It has never caused any problems until now. If your woundering im on a Abit Be6-2 version 1, with a 20gig and a 13.6 :WTF?: -drew

make sure that all the drivers alre installed, if you look in your device manger and there is a yellow exclimation there isa conflict, so just reinstall the driver from the win disk -drew

Dude just go into control panel select performance and maintenance, then select power options, then click APM tab and enable the advance power managment support. -drew

When i ran bootvis and did the next boot+ driver delays, 2 repetitions, when i went to optimize them i tryed to open up the newly made .bin file and it said no drives detected.. i dont know what they mean.. anyone got a clue? -drew

Where do you extract the files to inorder for them to work? do you need a particular program? or what? -drew

One problem chris...my E; drive is NTFS, and my c is Fat 32, so i wont be able to format e drive..i wont be able to even see it....i tryed before. should i format using partition magic or somthing??
