1. At my old company we used a corporate copy of windows xp professional in which we purchased a set number of licenses to avoid having any legal battles. We had a contract with Dell who supplied the desktops. All machines were identical so we created an updated Windows XP CD SP2 + (RVMUpdatePack1.2Full-all current hotfixes) and all hardware drivers with NLITE. You can do alot more of what you seem to require just read up on nlite at the link provided and the nlite forum here at msfn is awesome if you have any questions. We then installed our newly created disk on one machine and used norton ghost to clone an image of the HDD to the other machines HDD. This proved to be a very quick setup process rather than going to each machine in our case. Those are just my two cents though I bet there are even more efficient ways if you use a server to deploy an image or something to all machines over a network. Hope this puts you in the right direction though.
2. I agree with the info stanstan has brought to your attention. I am a certified technician and this is a common trick we use in the field to recover otherwise lost data from a crashed HDD. If this seems to hard for you to perform yourself I would suggest calling HP and inquire about buying there Factory Restore CD which as the name suggest will restore your computer to the state in which you recieved it new out of the box. This method will however lose any data you have on the HDD so I would try stanstan method first it is not as difficult as it sounds. Good luck Also you might want to try a Repair from the Windows XP CD. I could walk you through it if you need help.
3. Yeah. I seen that site before. Freaking losers!!! I would sell Madden 2005 before purchasing that crap just to win a freaking game online. I still going to buy Madden 2006 because I love the game even if the online cheating is still present.
4. There are so many glitch cheats it is just insane. The worse two I have faced is the nano blitz and screen glitch. EA please stop these sorry bastards from cheating. lol
5. I own a eVGA 6800GT 256MB graphics card and I goto there forum which has a bunch of performace tips. Maybe you will find what your looking for there.
6. The graphics are getting better year after year. The biggest difference your going to see though is all the new features added since. I love 2005 defensive update but now with a passing game update it will definitely be a must own game. I just hope they focused on fixing major glitches online so these freaking cheaters will have to learn how to actually play madden without pulling some cheap trick to win.
7. Madden 2006 is on it's way to a console near you. They made a debut in the first hour of this years draft coverage on espn. The commercial is CGI but the site contains actual screenshots that look very promising. Ceck it out and let me know what you guys think. Madden 2006
8. I agree with both of you. Do you think the Barton 3200+ which is the limits of my mobo be sufficient with my current card? I really want to hop aboard the 64 club but can't currently afford it. Man that new BFG 512MB GeForce 6800 Ultra card will make your 64 so sweet. I bet the 3DMARK05 scores will be insane.
9. It always is your choice whether to click the link or not. The message describes the contents from within the site. This is a simple choice. To do or not to do. If you do at least you were not mislead and it was helpful in my case because I saved money on printers ink. Matrix thanks for letting me know the real deal.
10. I am pretty new to the board although I have indeed read the rules. I really like this forum and do not want to overstep the boundaries. I saw a link on the bottom of one the members replies browsing through the forum one day and It made me curious so I clicked on it. This is the site it directed me too below. I needed printers ink anyway so I signed up and completed one of the offers to recieve a free 20GB iPod. I had nothing to lose because the printers ink was dirt cheap compared to other places. Was this considered spamming because I was not sent the link and was not oblicated to click the link and complete an offer. Let me know what you think. Thanks freeipods
11. I should be getting pretty good FPS with my current graphics card but it seems I have to overclock to get a decent frame rate in games or 3dMark tests. I should be getting this with my card's default settings right. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Here are my specs below. MB: SY-KT600 DRAGON PLUS v.1.0 CPU: Athlon XP Barton 2500+ at 1.83GHz Vid: NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256MB Mem: Kingston 184 Pin 1GB DDR PC-3200 HD: Western Digital Raptor 10,000RPM 36GB PSU: 450 Watt
12. All hope is not lost. I use this program in the field alot to recover data for my clients. This has been a life saver and has recovered alot of potentially lost data. There is two different versions. One to recover FAT and the other for NTFS. Here is the link to the website Getdataback Hope this helps you out like it has for me and my clients many times.
13. This is correct. I have the corporate and everything is on one disk.
14. NEW DETAILS ABOUT CALL OF DUTY 2 04-16-05, 4:19 PM - Will there ever be a World War II game as action-packed and absorbing as Call of Duty? You'd better believe it! At least that's what the Infinity Ward developers are saying. They want Call of Duty 2 to be the most realistic, believable war game to this date. "In order to achieve this, you have to give the player complete freedom in the game. If he's able to do whatever he wants to do, he'll feel more like a genuine soldier" (Lead Designer Zied Rieke in an interview). Because the Quake 3 technology of old would not have been sufficient for Call of Duty 2, Infinity Ward has implemented a new graphics engine. With several modifications, it should allow for tremendous numbers of enemy forces over gigantic battlefields without loss of frame rate. Rotation Principle The new non-linear mission design is very interesting. From the start of the map, you're given a slew of objectives all at once. How to accomplish them is completely your decision. If you finish a certain portion, you can either continue on with your current campaign perspective over the actual war story or you can be a totally different soldier and live a new life through an entirely different perspective. If you like a certain campaign in particular, you can play it as one soldier the first time and as any of the others next time. Altogether, you have a collection of different wars to choose from: Private Vassili Ivanovich Koslov's fight with the Red Army for the taking of Moscow and Stalingrad; Corporal Bill Taylor's fight with the US Army Rangers in France and Germany; and the British Sergeant Davis' fight in Egypt and Tunisia against the Desert Fox himself, Erwin Rommel, and the Afrika Korps. Information concerning the fourth campaign has not yet been disclosed by Infinity Ward. The artificial intelligence of the enemy including the realistic military tactics speaks for itself. Moreover, each soldier on the battlefield, Allied and Axis, gets his own unique voice and vocabulary, amounting to about 750 different phrases.
15. Official news about CALL OF DUTY 2 ACTIVISION'S INFINITY WARD IN DEVELOPMENT ON CALL OF DUTY 2 Santa Monica, CA - April 7, 2005 - Attention soldiers! Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and acclaimed developer Infinity Ward are back in action with Call of Duty 2, an all new epic title which delivers an unparalleled portrayal of the chaos and intensity that was World War II. The sequel to the award-winning Call of Duty, Call of Duty 2 is powered by a proprietary new engine featuring striking new visuals, advanced A.I. technology, the most realistic squad combat and explosive action in new historic campaigns. The title is scheduled for release this fall and is not yet rated by the ESRB. Call of Duty 2 lets players experience four individual soldier stories as they overcome insurmountable odds in multiple campaigns. Players have the freedom to follow each of the four storylines through for the ultimate character-driven experience, or they can engage in the historic battles chronologically for quick hitting action. Infinity Ward, creator of the blockbuster, original Call of Duty, has also expanded the scope of combat to deliver a truly realistic battlefield experience. Squads now have the freedom to take on a variety of mission objectives, on expansive battlefields that allow for multiple paths and the ability to utilize actual combat tactics like outflanking and fire and maneuver capabilities. Call of Duty 2's new engine and A.I. technology set the stage for authentic squad combat and astonishing action. Concealment can be key as battlefield smoke or even deployed smoke grenades cloud visibility. Weather effects such as the dusty sandstorms of North Africa and whiteout blizzard conditions of Russia, for example, will keep soldiers glued to their bunkers. The team has also employed a state-of-the-art Battle Chatter System that brings the action to life as squad-mates bark out context-sensitive updates in real-time to players through an advanced A.I. system. "Our team at Infinity Ward is committed to thrusting gamers into the heat of battle like no other, taking players on a thrill-ride of adrenaline that leaves everyone gasping for air," states Grant Collier, president, Infinity Ward. "In Call of Duty 2, we are creating the most intense and realistic action game imaginable with a stunning visual atmosphere and an advanced technology that delivers an unprecedented level of authenticity."
16. I seen screenshots of it and it looks excellent!!! I want to test out a demo before purchasing though. Thank god I tested the Medal Of Honor: Pacific Assault demo because that game blows!!!
17. I've had pretty much every gaming system and totally agree with you on how much graphics in games are rapidly changing as we even speak. I have a pretty powerful gaming rig that once was viewed as god-like but in a year just graphic cards alone demand a whole new upgrade to keep the Frames Per Sec at a decent level. I remember when DOOM came out and everybody flipped out over those great graphics. LMAO!! By the way Supersniper that is a pretty cool banner. Did you make it yourself?
18. GT4 was hyped up soo much from game magazines and other sources but as a owner of the game I feel a big let down. It just got boring to play after a month or so because it's not hard to accomplish everything. I love the addition of all the cars but there is only so much you can do to them. Upgrading the engines is fun but sucks because it's too easy to accomplish and you feel no real reward in the end. NFSU 2 is great because you can change the look on your car which keeps the game interesting a lot longer. I'd have to go with NFSU 2 handsdown in the long run but don't get me wrong GT4 is a must own classic.
19. Firefox 1.0.2 is my favorite!!! Love the ability to add extensions like (Flashblock v.1.2.9 + Adblock v.5) plus it's fast and more secure. Hope IE7 is a dramatic difference than version 6 otherwise I won't ever go back to it being my default. Firefox Download
20. 1. Call Of Duty: UO 2. Half-Life 2 3. Doom 3 4. Counterstrike 5. Painkiller
21. Cool. That's even better news!! I got the 2006 release date from another site but just read 60% of the game is complete so i'll take your word for it. Thanks for the translation.
22. Check out the link below: This ganme is a work in progress so you can only imagine how it will lokk when the final version is released sometime in 2006. Screenshots
23. I really have to be the odd ball on this topic because i've installed 98SE for a couple of friends and family members who have hand me down p2 computers that can't afford any computer by any means. For there basic needs such as surfing the internet and printing on the occassion this computer and OS combination is more than sufficient. I do however recommend them to upgrade the memory to at least 128MB. I think it boils down to what you intend to use the computer and OS for. If your only interested in surfing the net and printing on occassion why go and buy a top of the line computer it's not that smart especially if your barely making it paycheck to paycheck. I personally use Windows XP Pro because I can afford it and I have alot more computing demands.
24. Yesterday I recieved a frantic call from my father-in-law that his computer crashed really bad and could no longer boot up. He stated that the screen halted at the error listed below the 10 times he tried to reboot while praying for mercy from the computer gods. Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt. <windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe Please reinstall a copy of the above file. This is usually a simple fix by inserting the windows xp professional cd and using the repair option. Unfortunately this didn't work at all for me. Totally fustrated I sat and pondered why it wasn't working and came up with the conclusion that it had to be the cd. The cd has service pack 1 included and I remembered he updated his computer to service pack 2 when it came out. So I created a new windows xp cd with service pack 2 slipstreamed and then ran the same repair and voila!!! the computer was up and running in no time. I can only imagine the poor souls that lost evrything because they thought there was no other way than blow away and reinstall. There are some other helpful tips to combat this pesky error located at the following site. Good Luck =) NTOSKRNL.EXE is missing or corrupt
