  1. If it is 2GHz Pentium 4 with "Northwood"[/color:c02843ec50] core then u bet! Otherwise i don't think so, anyways.... GO[/color:c02843ec50] Athlon XP[/color:c02843ec50] GO[/color:c02843ec50]
  2. I think you can't replace foppy drive until there is BIOS support for alternative. floppy disks are pretty much useless these days execpt for one - DOS bootdisk Even more, I think there is no need to replace them. 1. You don't need 100 Mb Zip or alternative drive to be able to boot from it, when you can get floopy drive for $10. 2. There is no need for alternative storage device when allmost all of us have CD-RW ...IMHO

    Command Prompt

Well, to make it clear, i was talking about command-line based PROGRAM, like "chkdsk" or "defrag", "format" etc. The thing is that when you open Command Prompt first (by typing "cmd" or clicking on the link) and then type program name, the program executes and after its finished, you can see program output (defragmentation results for example). But when you type program name right from "Run..." window, it closes right after task is finished.
  4. Anyone knows how to keep Command Prompt window open after command-line based task is completed?
  5. Simple, NTLDR is short for NT Loader, program that sits in hard drive boot sector and loads Windows 2000 or Windows XP
  6. You should send this error output to auction support. As i see it, it has something to do with string parsing, it could be use of illegal characters, data string being too long or major bug in their code.
  7. If you are not running server its a waste of disk space, and even if you are - get RAID disk system if you'r paranoid about data loss. For home use, when you are installing XP, format your partition with NTFS file system for better data security and recovery.
  8. Same hare, i have the latest 4.6 version, but even if someone on my buddy list goes offline i see them as if they were online. The only way for me to check if they are offline or not is to start chat with them. If person i was trying to chat with was actually offline, i get instant notice about that and status of that person changes.
  9. "Cold Fusion" is server based technology, just like ASP or PHP. It is mostly used to serve dynamic web pages and link them to database. So the answer would be "No", XP or your browser has nothing to do with compatibility with "Cold Fusion".
  10. what u wanna do first is find any credit card numbers PIN codes ect. or email logins where this info could be found. just don't connect it to internet
  11. .: TiP :. To improve your system’s performance, run the Convert command with the /Cvtarea switch. This allows the master file table (MFT), the index of all files and folders on the selected volume, to be created in a single space, rather than being fragmented. Although the Windows XP Disk Defragmenter utility can work with the MFT, it cannot move the first fragment. This limitation practically guarantees that the MFT will be fragmented, unless you follow these steps as part of the NTFS conversion: Use the Windows XP Disk Defragmenter to defragment the drive you plan to convert and consolidate free space on the drive. Calculate the size of the MFT to be created. The default size of the MFT equals 12.5% of the partition size. Thus, on a 10 GB partition, the MFT should be approximately 1.25 GB. Use the Fsutil command to create a new contiguous placeholder file equal in size to the MFT you want to create. This file must be created in the root of the drive to be converted. For this example, issue the following command: fsutil file createnew c:testfile.txt 1250000000 You can use any legal file name. For the final parameter, substitute the proper size for the placeholder file, in bytes. Run the Convert command, using the following syntax: convert c: /fs:ntfs /cvtarea:testfile.txt Substitute the correct drive letter as necessary. If necessary, restart your system to complete the conversion. .: TiP :. P.S. This text is from Ms Press "Windows XP Inside Out" eBook
