  8. Manual removal Please follow the instructions below if you would like to remove Mirar Toolbar.A manually. Please notice that you must follow the instructions very carefully and delete everything that is mentioned. In most cases the removal will fail if one single item is not deleted. If Mirar Toolbar.A remains on your system after stepping through the removal instructions, please double-check by stepping through them again. 1. Start the registry editor. This is done by clicking Start then Run. (The Run dialog will appear.) Type regedit and click OK. (The registry editor will open.) 2. Browse to the key: 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar' 3. In the right pane, delete the value called {179E4B4A-76C3-4F65-BCED-C9FA1A28D2EF}, if it exists. 4. Browse to the key: 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Internet Explorer \ Toolbar \ WebBrowser' 5. In the right pane, delete the value called {179E4B4A-76C3-4F65-BCED-C9FA1A28D2EF}, if it exists. 6. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {179E4B4A-76C3-4F65-BCED-C9FA1A28D2EF}', if it exists. 7. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Classes \ CLSID \ {8A0DCBDA-6E20-489C-9041-C1E8A0352E75}', if it exists. 8. Delete 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ Browser Helper Objects \ {8A0DCBDA-6E20-489C-9041-C1E8A0352E75}', if it exists. 9. Exit the registry editor. 10. Restart your computer. 11. Delete the following files: %SystemDir%\NN_BAR.DLL %SystemDir%\NN_Bar21.dll %SystemDir%\NN_Bar22.dll Note: %SystemDir% is a variable (?). By default, this is C:\Windows\System (Windows 95/98/Me), C:\WINNT\System32 (Windows NT/2000), or C:\Windows\System32 (Windows XP). 12. Start Microsoft Internet Explorer. 13. In Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options. 14. Click the Programs tab -> Reset Web Settings. Hope This Helps
  9. CAUSE Wsaupdater.exe is spyware that changes Userinit.exe, to Wsaupdater.exe in the registry. Ad-Aware by Lavasoft removes the Wsaupdater.exe file from the computer, but it cannot change the registry subkey back to Userinit.exe,. The registry subkey that is changed is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon Value: Userinit Data: %Windir%\System32\Wsaupdater.exe Note %windir% represents the location of the System32 folder. For example, if the location is C:\Windows\System32, the data would be: C:\Windows\System32\Wsaupdater.exe. The data should contain Userinit.exe, instead of Wsaupdater.exe. In the previous example, the data would be: C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,. Note: The comma following the file path information is required. RESOLUTION Use your original XP CD and boot your system with it, and choose Recovery Console. Find the userinit.exe file in the appropriate folder (it should still be there), copy it and store the copy as wsaupdater.exe (i.e overwriting the "bandit") You should then be able too logon your system, and can then run regedit, change the key back to the correct value ( C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe,). You can then delete the wsaupdater file. Use the Recovery Console to copy Userinit.exe to Wsaupdater.exe to allow logon capability to be restored and to let you manually correct the registry data. Hope This Helps!!

  18. MatrixCow, Be Very careful But!! You must use regedt32.exe in Windows 2000/XP (as I have not seen this problem posted for any other operating system). Be very carefull making changes in the regisrty! You must be logged on as a local administrator to perform this task: 1. Go to "Start", "Run", and enter "regedt32" 2. Maximize the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" window. 3. Scroll down to "SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum" 4. With "Enum" selected click the "Security", "Permissions" menu. Note: At this point you will probably notice there are no permissions on this key. 5. Click "Add". 6. Add the group "Everyone" and the user "SYSTEM". 7. Select "Everyone" and check "Read" ONLY! 8. Select "SYSTEM" and check "Full Control". 9. Click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the window. 10. On the Advanced window check "Reset permissions on all child objects..." 11. Click "OK" 12. On the warning window click "Yes" 13. Close REGEDT32 You should now be able to see everything in Device Manager, Network Places Properties, and Printers." Hope This Helps
