Windows Defender Version: 1.1.1051.0
Engine Version: 1.1.1186.0
Signature Version: 1.13.1282.6
Can you help me? or Provide a direct link for the updated definitions which someone had posted in another thread
Symptom -After you uninstall and then reinstall Microsoft Windows Defender Beta 2, you may receive the following error message:
Windows Defender definitions haven't been updated
If you check for updated definitions when this occurs, Windows Defender reports that no updates are available.
Resolution -1. Remove the current signature file. To do this, click Start, click Run, type
Msiexec /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}, and then click OK
2. Open Windows Defender. To do this, click Start, click Programs, and then click Windows Defender.
3. Check for new definitions. To do this, click the Help options arrow next to the Windows Defender Help icon, click About Windows Defender, and then click Check for Updates.

Microsoft Unveils Details for Ultra-Mobile Personal Computers
Introduced at CeBIT, the new mobile PC form factor, formerly codenamed "Origami," provides full Windows functionality with an enhanced touch screen, pen and keyboard input.
Using the Microsoft Touch ack for Windows XP on the Samsung Q1 Ultra-Mobile PC. The software optimizes the touch screen user interface for UMPCs to simplify navigation and ease-of-use while on the go. Redmond, Wash., March 7, 2006
HANNOVER, Germany, March 9, 2006 – Microsoft today unveiled details for Ultra-Mobile Personal Computers (UMPCs), a new category of mobile computing devices that features small, lightweight, carry-everywhere hardware designs coupled with the full functionality of a Microsoft Windows-based PC and a choice of input options, including enhanced touch-screen capabilities. The debut of UMPCs here at CeBIT, the world's largest trade fair showcasing digital IT and telecommunications solutions, follows Microsoft Chairman and Chief Software Architect Bill Gates' call in 2005 for the computer industry to develop a new category of PCs that are less expensive, lighter and more functional. PressPass asked Bill Mitchell, corporate vice president of Microsoft's Windows Mobile Platforms Division, to discuss UMPCs and explain how these new devices are different from other mobile computers.

Well , uhhm , never had a close look at it. Pratham is the more common name so thought it must have been that only. Its NOT pratham, its prathap.Yahoo! Photos cant store 3 GB of images & 56 GB of other documents created over the years.I'm backing up to DVD-RW in any case, just wanted to announce my problem & bring it to notice, so that nobody else needs to suffer what I was ABOUT to.Well , this certainly seems a bit too much *LOL
if it is really close to your heart , then how about another hard drive?
write them onto it and keep it aside with you

The feature list below will show the feature evolution between Windows XP's Outlook Express, Windows Vista's Windows Mail, and Windows Live Mail Desktop.
RSS
The new RSS feature is one I use often. Different people like to read RSS in different ways. Internet Explorer v7 (download here) has a new innovative way to switch from a web site to its RSS feed. Their approach is innovative and will build a following. My personal preference is for Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta's traditional model using folders, read/unread list, and a preview pane. Here is what is possible in the RSS feature of Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta:
- When I see a blog entry I like, I can click "forward" and email it to my friend.
- I can click "Reply" and let the blog author know what I think about that post. Reply is invaluable in email, why not have it for blogs?
- Quick Search Box: There is a box in the top of the email client. As you type, the list of messages are filtered so only the messages that include the search text are shown. For RSS this will search the title and blog description.
- Map feeds to folders: Windows Live Mail Desktop allows you to map several feeds to a single folder if you want. This is a great way to reduce the number of folders to eliminate scrolling. Separate folders often aren't needed for feeds that receive posts infrequently.
- Traditional support: All of the features you expect from most RSS readers, including drag & drop to folders, read/unread, folders to organize subscriptions.
- Blog It!: This is a very cool feature. Vlada on our team worked on this feature and she will tell you all about it soon.
Blog sites should supply the email address and names in their RSS feed if they would like the reply by email feature to fill in the "TO:" line when the user clicks Reply. ArsTechnica on feedburner.com is a good example of a compatible feed. We use the Internet Explorer v7 RSS platform which normalizes the blog XML.
Got this from liveside and the Official Space. Man we are gonna be bombarded upon with innovative email products. Now that the Web mails have taken a step further , i Wonder how further these desktop mail clients shall have to leap in order to get people hooked onto them
What say?

Wooh , Scary though Pratham.I saw all the best memories of my life fading away from my hard-disk, when it messed with my partition table (during install).....I suggest using Yahoo Photos as an backup option. Cant think of risking my momories on something which can crash just anytime .
The graphical partitioner of vista (during setup) has been a bother since the first alphas! I delete a partition, re-make & format it.... & the next I know, disk management shows my 20 gig partition as 600 GB & so on, for all my 8 partitions (and partition magic exits with a #701 error). As much as I'd like to see it true, I dont have600 GB * 8 = 4800 GB.Wov , thats cool. They have not bothored correcting it yet?

Till now only Music and Vista experience was showcased. I just saw that now even the digital memories is showcased. Tv and Movies is still to come
Digital Memories and Windows Vista
Today, you can capture the best moments of your life with your digital camera. Your favorite memories—from small moments to big events—are preserved in your digital images. This has changed not only the way we take pictures, but the way we store them, too. Rather than having piles of photos and negatives stored in shoeboxes, you may have hundreds, or even thousands, of photos stored on your computer. As you store more pictures on your computer, it can become challenging to find, organize, and share them.Windows Vista lets you handle your digital memories in a truly intuitive way. It's the center for your digital memories, where you can import your pictures, organize and find them, make basic corrections, and save them to CD or DVD. It's also your photo gallery, with a virtually endless number of photo albums and a variety of ways to share pictures with your friends and family.
With Windows Vista, your photos and the tools you need are all in one place. Whether you're working with photos or video, editing or e-mailing your pictures, or putting together a slide show for your next party, you will have the tools to get it done—and more—quickly and easily.

If you had used A-Patch Before , restore it.whenever i m tryin to update it is giving error in between...does it have any direct link 2 download ..?
Try again .
no need! The old windows live messenger had a more "rounded interface".
This one is more "boxy" or "square" (if that make any sense )
Then menu-bar is now disabled by default now and the old icons are back for the statuses.
Except the offline image is now gray instead of red.
The display pictures are considerably bigger than they were before in the contact list when displaying details
The black picture msn guy has changed, but i think it just looks weird
Your personal display at the top of the contact list is considerably smaller
The notification windows are smaller and the picture had been removed from contact ones
You cannot customize contact window color anymore
Windows live contactshave been added
A search the web bar has been added to the bottom of the messenger contact window
MOST IMPORTANT ONE!: Some Messenger plus features work with this build of messenger!
In short , to sum it up , - IT IS FAR BETTER THAN THE PREVIOUS VERSIONS!!!!
I have already started to like it
