  1. Grrr!! I bet you got much music files on that Gmail account!

You are correct in a way , i have got my voice recordings of my cell phone.

But the main culprit are the around 900 forward mails and some of them have been forwarded by me again , so adds up to the size :)

*When you got it , flaunt it

  2. thats pretty funny!

btw keep opera and firefox out of this ok

LOL no i do not want to figth for any one of them. Since he posted the ACID2 result of IE6 , i thought to do the same for Opera.

I think it would be better if someone does the same for firefox and then no more discussions on this in this thread :)

  3. Source

An updated version of Windows Live Messenger will be released to all current WLM beta users.

Windows Live Messenger 8.0.556 - Feature list.

Note - Screenshots are available at source.

    New Functionality

    • See that transfer status of the files you're sharing in your Sharing Folders.
    • Get your File/Edit/Actions/Tools/Help menus by clicking the arrow next to "minimize" in the main window/conversation window
    • Colorization colors the whole main window, not just the header
    • Scrolling on the emoticon/nudge/wink tool bar. If you keep your window small, you can still get to everything. Oh. We reordered them too so it looks cleaner
    • heart.gifUsers in English-speaking markets - link to This Blog! from the "Help" Menu.
    • Contact sorting back to the way you said you liked it alphabetical instead of by status.
    • Sharing Folders are AWESOME but sometimes you just want to send over one file. Pick your prefered method of file transfer from the sharing button.
    • Way improved "Add a Contact" Dialogue.

    Realignment

    • Left-aligned your display picture (version 522 had it on the right)
    • Slid the ink and handwriting tab over to the right of the conversation window

    New Icons

    • Buddy List view (where you sort, or chose to show more details)
    • The Windows Live Messenger Beta logo at the top
    • Search button at the very bottom.
    • Brought back status icons so you can tell "busy" v. "away" If you think it looks outdated – we agree – we're working on icons that are both good lookng AND show "busy" v. "away"

    Eliminate Waste (of space)

    • Contacts are closer together so you can fit more in your window
    • The ME area above your contacts is smaller to make more room for you contact list
    • Tightened up the space between the display pictures in the conversation window
    • Removal of Text in several places:
    • "Search" on the search box in the main window
    • Names of buttons in the conversation window
    • "Send" & "Search" are now both smaller and moved inside the text entry box
    • Turn off your tabs in Tools-->Options-->Tabs
Has not been released yet . Seems to be the "one step Over 562 " refresh. Let us see what have to got for us now ;)

  4. Well done Jeremy ,

Although , only if anyone wants to consider these , i would like to add a few of my inferences or experiences.

I think one of the important info. in this context is , that i have an HP All in One 1402 . Now its driver and software installations are pretty uncommon. It installs them from the path of the cddrive itself , and strangely , the uninstallation entries also point towards the CD. I mean that to uninstall most of its components , you require the cd!!!

Now this is the point which most of the RegCleaners falter with me. They remove some such entries , that Whenever i want to use my All in one , some of its components registry entries are corrupeted and it always pops up the MSI installation and asks for the CD.

I currently use Tune-Up and CCleaner both. They are the only ones which do not give me problems with my All in One. I would reccomend them to those of you , who want to quickly clean the registry without worrying about some important misses. I trust these two blindly , do not even have a look at what all they have found. It never harms my system.

Now about those cleaners who clean the registry and with it , also gave me registry problems.

The first Software on my list is SYSTEM MECHANIC. I simply caution everyone against using it except if you shall carefully and extremely carefully study each and every of its steps before letting it do anything!!! One of its way of safegaurding your system is by changing the way MSI and MSP files work. What an idea, it makes them open in notepad by default!!! and i could not revert back to normal because i could not find its backup inspite of that software having an organized restore system.

About regseeker , well i somehow feel it scans really too aggresively. On doing 3 4 scans one after the other, it must have removed nearly about 2000 entries!!!!!! gave me problems with my All in One.

Even registry First aid gives me problems with my ALl in one.

Have not tried many other of these, happy with Tune up and Ccleaner :)

ps - anyone having HP All in ones? do you suffer from problem like me? maybe you could help me too out with it :)

  5. Looks nice - but takes up 100,000K of memory (YES, Thats right, 100,000K!).

well , many people may certainly feel differently , but considering that they are projecting Vista as a Powerfull Machines Only OS , and also the fact that a thing or serive like media center would be at any time the single Main service , 100,000k is not completely magnimous.

I mean we have firefox running at 60,000k most of the times , so it is pretty acceptable.

  6. That was just for posting the news in the BPTN .

I somehow dont understand why should people discuss about stuff in an forum where only the news and releases should be posted for Info.

We have all these specefic forums to discuss the releases. That is why i always post the news in BPTN and try to shift all the discussions over to the respective forums so that the News forum does not get disorganised .

Well this is what i though to be better.

  7. @Prathapml and Zxian, how to grab all settings i have maked/choosed? I want to see my skin, my choosen color, my bookmarks, my homepage, my inIE button, and all of my other settings and go so on in every new opera install...

    Opera6.ini, search.ini isnt enough...

Just copy this folder to every user & computer you want to:

    C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Opera

Of course, change the username & paths accordingly in opera6.ini after copying it somewhere (for example, your user profile folder itself might be located on some other path, or on 64-bit windows, "C:\Program Files" becomes "C:\Program Files (x86)").

Its easy to make a wholesale-change to all lines containing paths, open in notepad & then, Edit >> Find+Replace.

Does it work for sure pratham? Because i have tried it quite a few times on my pc itself , Opera crashes if i use my old preference folder!!!

    Microsoft's Origami project

    origami_top.jpg

So today Microsoft officially flipped the switch on the buzz machine for their Origami Project -- an atypical viral marketing manuveur for a company whose products are usually known about years ahead of time. Scoble says its a device, the Internet's lighting up with rumors -- is it the Xbox portable? Well, we dunno, but as usual got our hands on some pictures. And as usual we can't guarantee they're the real deal, though we are pretty confident in their source. So, let's go over it: these were sent to us detailing it as a Microsoft portable media player, which wouldn't be too far off from what Jobs and BusinessWeek both prophesied Microsoft doing (despite being pretty broadly denied from within).

Now, here's the tricky part with these pictures -- what's with the keyboard and stylus? Because the last time we checked, their Portable Media Center (PMC) OS didn't have (known) support for touchscreen and keyboard input. So is this some new portable OS platform running on CE.net? Or perhaps it's just a fat little Pocket PC device with some media software? Or something totally different -- could Microsoft beat Apple to the punch with the first serious touchscreen portable media device? Or maybe, just maybe, it's that ultramobile lifestyle PC Microsoft was talking about recently. Kinda seems like no matter what the answer, we're all gonna be pretty surprised (for better or worse) come announcement day, March 2nd, being that Microsoft's "not in the hardware biz." (No, peripherals don't count.) But hell, we can't even tell you for sure if these photos are legit, so here we are.

P.S. There's one thing we are indeed fairly sure about: that it's not that prototype "Origami" device announced by National Semi in 2001. Seriously, c'mon, a device from 5 years ago is what Microsoft's got Scoble buzzing about? Bigger pics of this Origami after the break.
