  3. Just installing Opera's new builds over the previous ones is enough!! The settings do not vanish with each installation:) Yup , it is an old problem , i never ended up trying 8.5 as 9 beta was out by the time i went on to opera , but that problem used to trouble me before , dont know which version. But in the recent past , i have not been seeing it happening!! One thing you can do for now is , enable clear catch on exit , so that every time you reopen oopera , it downloads the latest stuff rather than using the old files in the catch!!! If any one has any remedy to remove this problem forever , i would love it .
  4. uhhh , one possible explanation would be , those videos require a connection of nearly 1500kb/s and one of the video file was 38 mb in size maybe it takes a lot of time to load?
  5. Edit - It is available in WLM inbuilt but for 7.5 you need a 3rd party app.
  6. Haha , seems not the alias but...............
  7. Yup they are the newsest , but i guess this is the Wrong forum. This should have been in the BPTN
  8. It is also used , when in the comman task panel in my computer , and if you set Control Panel to show up in My Computer , this is the icon:)
  9. for the icons - Open any explorer window , Set up the view as you like , go to folder options , and in the view tap , select apply to all folders. This is what you wanted. regarding common task folder , do you mean the comman task panel in the left of the default XP theme? well i guess XP does not support it!! Windowblinds may do that , but i have never heard of it!!
  10. The easiest thing you are looking at is , DIRECT INTEGRATION , using nLite. I will patch all the files of you installation source and wont keep the installers in SVCpack folder. Try it out with the new version of nLite , there have been hell of a change in nLite since the last one year. Give it a go!!
  11. I do not think this is possible with the default windows UI. A 3rd party app. may help you , if at all it exists. But as far as i know , you cant do that with windows XP
  12. They do not make separate copies for these download. Either you can download thew whole defender again with these definition updates , they have new setups released weekly , or you can let automatic update do its work!!
  13. If you using Vista on your pc , Means you must a tester authorised from MS. So you must also be having info about what you are testing , where you can get Whitepapers on it If not , dude , torrents huh PS : Your region says you are from India , which city , and which University is it that you are gonna present a paper on the Next Gen OS !!! Forget the Current XP
  14. New build up - 8238 24. February 2006
  15. Ya man , it wont interfere. If you have active protection enabled in al og them , each shall post a query when something unexpected happens. I suggest letting Defender run in the background , and using the other two for occasional scans
  16. hve not heard of any yet , if you find them anywhere do post them here. Psssssssss want a cool look look for your WLM , change its colout to white!!!! looks cool.
  17. We all know each other by our Usernames. How about sharing our names? You know , that little bit of personal touch to the techie world The last names are your own choice , but do share your first names with everone. I am Yash
  18. Lets not start with which one is the best and all in the News forum. We have the software hangout forum for the discussions. Lets just stick to news and releases over here
  19. hey ya , the site is not holding. Any body can open it? Maybe MS pulled it back . This would not have been the way they would have liked to announce the versions of there next gen OS!! Winsupersite's detailed analysis of the versions Gives a nice view of what to expect.
  20. @Gouki Well , i guess if you stick with Windows Defragger , than you would also stick with IE , Windows Fax and Picture viewer , WMP , Windows Messenger. Thay all do what they are supposed to do. In that sense this software market should not really be such a vast one? The thing is these people specialise in their particular fields and make advanced apps in that field. Now i guess that perfect disk and Diskeeper on the systems can be power munchers. But if you want to use there advanced features , what can you do then on a low end pc? This is the answer, a Live service instead of installing those big apps , run them through the net. I liked the concept , am waiting for the LIVE stuff to invade nearly all the areas.
  21. I was waiting when something like this would happen. Online defragger. Now you can test PerfectDisk7 as an Online Defragger. Subscriptions start at $19.95 , whereas you can have a 15 day trial. PerfectDisk Live
  22. hey Xpero , i heard something like this over there in Neowin also. Maybe you should have a look into this. I could not figure it out.
  23. Check your codecs and Media Player network options. Seems to be some sort of connection problem with media player. Try quicktime once to play those files and see if it works
