    ya u are correct acctually..i even got xp pro with sp2 on a old pentium II 266..bit slow but **** stable....yup screw win me ..go with xp

    i use msn 6.2 and have nps transferring at hig speeds with my linksys router......model u got? btw i didnt have 2 change any settings in router....i notice by default that upnp is set 2 on

    just put xp cd in and boot up and follow instructions..it will detect that an OS is already on it so just format and let xp do it 4 u

    u could get a win boot disk....depends on what OS u plan 2 install on it....if its xp then its much easier if u not sure what 2 do...let us know and we can guide u

    dont panic...MS said it take 6 weeks 2 send me sp2 cd and 3 days later it was delivered thru my door

    can sometimes tell on the number of beeps or whether they are continous beeps etc.....maybe there is something in event viewer?
