Exactly ! I've been saying this for a long time , don't trust Russians. I think there's only one user here that makes such claims (not pointing at anyone). For example , they didn't remove this , see proof. And who knows what was added by them . You're totally right , you're better off removing it by yourself from the original.

Have you seen this post ? I had discovered this chinese DNS a long time ago (which was left there by the "talented" russian hackers/repackers), please mention me if you're going to publsih it somewhere else or in the other topics. Also , try to block my IP list (published here earlier , scroll back). https://msfn.org/board/topic/182304-extreme-explorer-360-chromium-78-86-general-discussion/page/15/?tab=comments#comment-1194253

WebClient is just so not needed . It's a gremlin . It will waste your traffic. Try , you may like it .

whats your favorite band? (community topic)
Dixel replied to legacyfan's topic in General Discussion
Nice choice, indeed . Those are my favourites too. But I can't listen to anything starting from 1995-96, I mean any kind of music. -
You're most welcome ! I would also suggest to disable everything regarding remote access to your XP computer and block ports 23, 89, 107 , 81, 82 , 135 and 445 with your firewall . These are the most used for attacks. https://www.lifewire.com/disable-remote-access-in-windows-xp-2487711 https://www.laptopmag.com/articles/disable-remote-desktop https://www.technlg.net/windows/remote-desktop-terminal-services-how-to/

Well , then just disable the aforementioned services manually and remove dr. Watson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfaohidTEKs

Also , may remove all keyboards and languages you don't need to save space on your HDD/SSD. I usually remove all Asian (like chinese and the such) and cyrillic (like rusian) because they take a lot of space and we don't need them , obviously. Do not delete Dutch , German and Swedish keyboards , who knows what future may bring .

He is right , not much to gain . I usually remove all unneeded with nLite before the installation . These are the services I remove (completely) . You may just copy/paste into your nLite preset Last Session.ini. ;# Services # Alerter Automatic Updates Error Reporting Messenger QoS RSVP Quality of Service (QoS) Remote Registry Telnet Text Services Framework WebClient P.S. I'm not sure if you use "Automatic Updates", but I think they don't work regardless.

Hello , I'm guessing you're talking about Metallica's 1991 album , no ? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metallica_(album) -

My favourite band is Scorpions . I see German bands are quite popular , I'm no exception. Scorpions are a German (Western Germany) rock band formed in 1965 in Hanover by Rudolf Schenker. https://www.the-scorpions.com My favourite Scorpions' albums are : almost all up to 1990 . In 1993 , with the release of their new studio album (recorded in New York) , the sound became distorted . Read here : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war I guess the sound studio manager is/was deaf. They didn't need to change their recording studio. Before that the sound is/was amazing , the best albums in the 80's recorded in the Swiss Alps. I do own all of my fav. albums on original CDs , "made in Holland" in the 80's/early 90's. -
From my experience , the results may vary with different hardware . You can just place your three modules into that PC and test how fast (or slow) it performs. There are plenty of benchmarking tools. And then you can try placing them in another slots , yes , it can perform quite different . Then try to add 2GB to the rest of them (3x4GB + 2GB). Try NOT to leave corsair in the first slot though , since Corsair tends to develop faulty sectors right at the start of a given module , which will prevent you from booting at all.

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
Dixel replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
So you really believe it could be just turned off via some software switch ? lol 1 - I think the thing you're talking about is more closely related to what they call Intel Management Engine Interface (IMEI) and Intel AMT nowadays . And this one works in conjuction with browsers to create your unique fingerprint (Firefox and it's forks , Pale Moon too, of course) . I'm not an expert on Firefox , but with Chrome you can just open resources.pak and you will see Crypto Token Extension . It can't be just "switched off" by a regular user . No need for further comments. 2 - Nailed it ! No , they won't fall asleep . Our data costs big bucks . Any real user data . And we pay for their surveillance gear ourselves , everything's included in the final price. -
@WalksInSilence , at least not Corsair xD .

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
Dixel replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
It's not that simple as it may seem . This should bother you much more . Have you ever heard about IPT ? It's your unique ID that is generated by all Intel (maybe AMD too) CPUs. I'm not sure about the exact year of it's implementation , but a quick searh reveals that it was there in 2014 already. From Intel's wevsite: "Intel Identity Protection Technology is a built-in security token technology that helps a hardware-based proof of a unique user’s PC to websites, financial institutions, and network services; " . Take this one , for example . It's more than a 6 y.o. old basic/cheap mobile CPU from 2015 and it has this "technology" built in. https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/89611/intel-pentium-processor-4405u-2m-cache-2-10-ghz.html It was available in earlier models too , starting from 2013-2014 (at least). Found this one article from 2014 : "this token is built right into the device hardware, it is much more convenient " , funny , huh ? "convenient" for them , right. https://www.askwoody.com/forums/topic/intel-identity-protection-technology/ Outright privacy invasion , a very powerful hardware based tracking tool! But no info anywhere ! Amazing. -
And I am considering this mobo. Love the design and it has my favourite PCI , not the wobbly PCIe. Two of them ! https://static.bhphoto.com/images/images500x500/1590428746_1560318.jpg

Hello all and thanks in advance for any input. I'm considering an upgrade for one of my rigs . Current config : Q87 Mobo with Intel Pentium G3470 (yes, I know it's a cheap son of a bleach , no jokes please). GPU GTX Titan will stay , I like it . Will H410 chipset and Pentium Gold socket LGA 1200 work OK with 32-bit Vista ? Someone tried this already ? Mobo has USB 2.0 and PS/2 ports. P.S. Why not 64-bit ? I know 64-bit will most likely fail to start some services .
