    I think you won't find anything which looks similar, but regardless of that you have to move on. IceApe is a suite with browser and mail client (like SeaMonkey), IceDove is a mail client only (like Thunderbird). There's also MailNews as a mail client (like Thunderbird), derived from Interlink Mail & News (by Matt A. Tobin).     I also noticed that Google now looks kind of odd / fall-back design and thought it has something to do with the latest version of NM27. But I changed back to the previous version and it was still the same. So this has been changed by Google coincidentally at the ~same time! kind regards soggi

    Thx for the clear explanation...answered also some questions I had as I don't wanted to test all these builds myself to clarify their origin.     There shouldn't be any SSE or even IA32 builds for Win64 as all x64 CPUs since the first Athlon 64 support SSE2 or even higher. Remind: SSE2 support by Intel AND AMD CPUs is available since 2003, all x86_64 CPUs have it! kind regards soggi

    @VistaLover all the things written above are right, but at the very first pull out the HDD to save your not back-uped data! Screen was frozen but just displayed the last frame, no BSOD? So the CPU should be OK - GPU maybe too, but maybe not. Sounds like Display, RAM or GPU RAM...or motherboard in the worst case. Are there any beeps when you're trying to start? As said above by others and myself, first pull out the HDD then test an external monitor, change RAM (if you have some spare RAM). Hopefully our advices will help you! Oh yes, the front window of my car got damaged by fireworks falling down on New Year's Eve while it was parked in a private backyard. kind regards soggi

    Uuh...that's ugly. As said above, the status bar is also important to me. I need it for add-ons (and their functionality) and to verify the URL of a link by hovering it! In my opinion removing the status bar is very idiotic...I noticed this many years ago in some FF version and just shook my head... kind regards soggi

Firefox 45ESR 20211218 and New Moon 28 20211218 works great with Matomo, but New Moon 27 20211218 doesn't. Is it possible to let NM27 work again with Matomo?     As a user of phpBB (or any other OSS software) I have the possibility to edit and change the source code, but have to be a developer who's able to do so (I'm definitely not). Furthermore I can always ask for support and open a ticket. But that's all I can do. And it's also not as simple as you think, there's quite no monolithic software project - the larger a project the more dependencies (like several libs) it has. Even if the developers of a specific project want to be compatible to older browser or OS versions, often it's not in their hand as they would have to reinvent the wheel by developing their own version of a lib. This is almost impossible and always a bad idea, because you will create a lot of holes (if you're able to develop a working version) and waste a lot of time which you can't spend to your project. kind regards soggi

    Tell this the developers of all the frameworks, CMS, bulletin boards and so on which are widely and mainly used by today's websites. The website owner itself isn't the developer in the very most cases. For example, if I would have a bulletin board for my users, I would take phpBB and have to take what they offer with no chance to change anything (except visual things like themes). kind regards soggi

    @NotHereToPlayGames: First you say "the "internet"", but you're just talking about the WWW which is just a very little part of the Internet. Second the "Invision Community" provides the forums / bulletin software. MSFN, respectively it's owner, has to choose one of the forums / bulletin softwares which are available on the market (OSS, freeware or payware). The point is that for security reasons you have to choose a software which is currently in development. You don't want to have a software running on your server which has a lot of SQL/PHP/etc. security holes. The bad news is that support for older browsers is not integrated in the very most of these software projects. Now you can say "I want to have support for all browsers released since the early 90s!", but then you have to develop this software by your own...have fun! If you want to have a website which is compatible with very old browsers, then you have to go with HTML4 only (like my website), but this is not today's technology, obviously. And my website is hand-coded, completely...have fun again (thousands of hours, maybe ten thousands)! Don't get me wrong, I really like old-school websites (like my own), but you can't provide any additional functions (like forums / bulletins) in a secure way, if you aren't a very good PHP/JS developer with a lot of free-time. Soooo - at the very most you have to take what's on the market! kind regards soggi

    Hey @Mathwiz, thx a lot! There was no setting general.useragent.override (first screenshot below), so I just added it via right-click -> New -> String, set it to Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:4.8) Goanna/20211001 PaleMoon/28.10.4a1 - and it really works (second screenshot below)! @roytam1 so it is maybe possible to make NM27 work with Matomo 4.6.x!? kind regards soggi

    What is "Firefox-tff 45"? Tried it with your latest release, Firefox 45ESR 45.9.34 (2021/10/09), unfortunately w/o success - screenshot below. I tried the following of your builds: New Moon 27.10.0_20211204 -> blank screen (screenshot posted some posts above) New Moon 28.10.4a1_20211113 -> works Firefox 45ESR 45.9.34_20211106 -> browser is not supported due to security reasons (screenshot below) Maybe I have to move on to New Moon 28 as Matomo is a very important tool for me!? And it's not like having a tool running on WinXP where you can say "Let me alone, I don't care!"...for security reasons you have to have the latest version of a tool like this running PHP, JS and stuff on/from a public domain / hosting service. kind regards soggi

    yeah if they're using newer Vue JS, it has some javascript syntax that cannot be parsed by goanna3 javascript engine. Does it mean that there is no chance to make it work or what is the conclusion? BTW I hate it, if a project always has to use the latest "hot s***" I was really fine with Matomo (formerly Piwik) 3.x.x, but they always move on with no regard. Don't get me wrong, Matomo is a great OSS tool and I really appreciate that people invest their (free) time into the project. New Moon 27 doesn't crash here, just shows an empty page with some text at the end - see screenshot below. kind regards soggi

    Sorry, I have to double post... @roytam1 I updated the Matomo installation on my webspace to the latest version (4.6.0/4.6.1) and now the screen is nearly empty in latest New Moon 27. The demo site (demo.matomo.cloud) is still at version 4.5.0 at the momnt but will be updated soon (i think) and maybe so you can track down the issue!? Changelog for 4.6.0 can be found under matomo.org/changelog/matomo-4-6-0/ - maybe this is caused by the move from AngularJS to Vue JS? Please let me know, if there is any possibility to make it work again as this is one of my mainly used web tools. Edit: BTW works flawlessly with Apple Safari 15 on Apple iOS 15.1 - so it's not a basic problem. thanks in advance and kind regards soggi

    I'm using New Moon 27, but the procedure should be the same. After I downloaded the latest version I close the browser, delete the old "New Moon old" folder, rename the actually used program folder to "New Moon old", unzip the new version to "New Moon" and test it. If there is a serious issue, I rename the latest version to "New Moon new", rename the former back to "New Moon" and report the issue to @roytam1 here in this thread. All settings, add-ons and so on are not saved to the program directory - so it is safe. I would always keep the second last version for troubleshooting, so you can move back very fast. Keep in mind this software is in alpha/beta status! BTW if you want to backup your profile, you can use MozBackup!     OMG, NO! I tried so many times since the release of Win7...I don't like it much, tried everything with classic look and ClassicShell, but there are so many things more driving me crazy on Win7. If the point of no return is reached, I will move to ReactOS and/or some BSD and/or macOS. Why you don't use the POSReady updates? I had and have no serious problems with them and can really recommend them. As said above Win7 is no solution for me...for me it would be a huge adjustment - unlike ReactOS which feels like 2k/XP. I also knew MSFN long before (~2005!?) when I was searching for Win98SE stuff, because I don't wanted to switch to XP for several reasons - this was before XP became what it was later (after the release of SP3). I also joined MSFN because Pale Moon dropped XP support to get support for @roytam1's New Moon and I think we both are not the only ones...OK there won't be thousands - but I think more then ten - of new members. kind regards soggi

    You can also use the authorized mirror on my website (-> soggi.org - tools) - if you have no success via HTTPS, it also supports HTTP (intentionally for old browsers and/or OSes which don't support latest HTTPS/TLS). kind regards soggi
