  1. Hmm. Palette Title changes it on my XP x64 but not on my XP x86. I admit that I don't quite follow the infatuation with this (zero interest in emoji fonts, a "Mozilla-ism" to the best I can surmise, I prefer to see a "square" for the missing font), but I'll still see what I can do to help. What fonts do you have listed for the following? HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\International\Scripts\19 -->> IEFixedFontName and IEPropFontName (ignore this one, just noticed that it's an IE setting) HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes -->> MS Shell Dlg 2
  2. Please delete both the "360" and the "360chrome" keys while 360Chrome is closed (verify via Task Manager that 360Chrome is indeed closed). Highlight "Software" then close regedit. Reopen regedit and verify that "360" anc "360chrome" are both deleted. Close regedit, launch 360Chrome, open regedit, observe keys under "Software" but do not highlight any of them, keep "Software" highligted, close regedit, close 360Chrome, reopen regedit, observe keys under "Software".
  3. dmadmin.exe is the "Logical Disk Manager Administrative Service" and this should have a startup type of "manual" and doesn't run under normal usage, it should only be running when configuring a drive or partition or when a new drive is detected. If this is running "all the time", I would suspect this to be your issue. Could also be a side effect to "Windows File Protection" but I think we can rule it out because you don't have sfc.exe running.
  4. Make sure that you close regedit and reopen it when verifying if a registry folder/key disappears or not. I think you have to close regedit without the key/folder being the current selection, but I'm not positive on that.
  5. Only if you use Humming Owl releases should you have a 360Chrome registry key when 360Chrome is not running. I think the v13.5 branch has a second key also, but it should still only exist when 360Chrome is running and it should delete itself when you close 360Chrome.
  6. This is my registry when 360Chrome is NOT running - no 360chrome folder/key
  7. If you run any Humming Owl releases, the registry entries do not disappear. If you run only my releases, the registry entries disappear. This is my registry with my 360Chrome running -
  8. For my releases, that registry setting is here -- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\360chrome\default\ui_persist_value I do not know what happens when you ALSO run Humming Owl releases because then the two registries can interfere with each other. And the registry entry only exists when 360Chrome is OPEN, it should self-delete when 360Chrome is not running.
  9. Mine does. 360Chrome has to be CLOSED when making the system change.
  10. This to me sounds like a positive. Some peoples "features" are another persons "bloatware".
  11. Ah, that makes since. I mean, I do the same thing with 360Chrome - use v11 for 99% of the time, use v13 for 1% of the time. So I would be happy with a stable release Mypal 68 for 99% and 78/91 for 1%. I'd go so far as using an "abandonware" version of Mypal 68 (I "hate" weekly updates!) once it becomes "stable". I'd be okay with Feodor's experiments releasing three versions then abandoning 68 if he finds that 78/91 is his future - because I don't think he's looking to "constantly update" all three.
  12. Ugh! Thanks for pointing that out. "Dead on arrival" in my books. Had high hopes, admittedly. But "dead on arrival".
  13. At any rate, if you're trying to get emojis in title bar and tabs of one of my "portable" versions, then I would suggest experimenting with the Palette Title system setting and pointing it to an emoji font as opposed to altering an existing XP font. I don't "want" emojis so I'll leave the experimenting up to you guys, though I am still interested in the findings
  14. I have an MS Sans Serif (only checked on my XP x64, have not checked my XP x86) but systems that do not have it specifically probably pull it from Microsoft Sans Serif instead -
  15. For what it is worth, mine says Tahoma (v11, v12, v13, and v13.5) - inline with my system settings Palette Title (the registry value changes to Arial if I change this system setting to Arial). (edit - updated image)
  16. Can you elaborate? WHAT is patched? What is changed? What advantages to the "patched" versus a "regular"?
  17. I'm with @hidao, I do not want emojis in my title bar or in my tabs or in my bookmark names. @Dave-H - there is a title bar in 360Chrome (I only use software with title bars). When you set the setting in Settings -> UI Style -> Appearance to "Show tabs on: Middle", that's when you get the STANDARD title bar.
  18. There were red banners plastered all over the forum a month or so ago stating that MSFN was going to shut down "if donations don't come in" (paraphrasing, I forget the exact wording). Issues were pointed out that the donation system wasn't working in regards to submitted donations but withdrawals from submitting accounts were never withdrawn. Donation system seems to be resolved. Donations were made, MSFN lives on.
  19. I've always preferred an extension for password management even during my Mypal days. I've always been paranoid of browser leaking passwords if I let the browser remember them. Goes without saying though that the extenstion has to be "vetted" and I trust that one.
  20. Here's what I use in 360Chrome -- https://www.crx4chrome.com/crx/270462/ I prefer v9.6.6 but can't recall offhand why I disliked the newer v10.x.

  22. Agreed! My primary computer has five monitors but because of DVI vs HDMI vs VGA vs USB, the "primary" monitor has to be the VGA but it's the one of the five that barely gets looked at.
