Andy Stanley Gets Into Heated Debate With Bible CHURCH·Jan 30, 2023 · BabylonBee.com ATLANTA, GA — Senior Pastor Andy Stanley was sidetracked while delivering a sermon Sunday morning at North Point Community Church when the Bible began disagreeing with one of his points. The pastor and author pulled up a stool and set the Bible up so they could hash matters out publicly for the benefit of church membership. According to sources, Stanley initiated the debate after coming across a passage from the fourth chapter of Hebrews. "You say you're sharper than any two-edged sword, but you look like a bundle of paper to me," Stanley argued. "There's no way you could cut into human flesh to dissect the heart and judge anyone's intent! After all, you were written by a bunch of desert people who didn't even go to college!" The Bible said nothing in response. The awkward silence caused Pastor Stanley to fill the void with more incoherent speech. "I think we ought to cut ties with you because you're a big stumbling block for a lot of people. When I tell them the Bible says such-and-such they get very offended," Stanley said. "Which means we're all free to decide what's right for ourselves, right?" The word of God sat motionless on its stool. Conviction sat in the air, heavy like molasses. Andy Stanley considered the debate an absolute win when the inanimate book did not spontaneously come to life and start speaking with a human mouth. Church membership is reportedly divided on who won the debate. Here: https://babylonbee.com/news/andy-stanley-gets-into-heated-debate-with-bible -

Payday Loan Center Sets Up Shop In Egg Aisle U.S.·Jan 30, 2023 · BabylonBee.com BRANSON, MO — The cost of groceries has continued to rise, despite the Biden Administration's concerted effort to reduce inflation by printing money. In fact, prices have now increased to the point that a Payday Loan Center was seen setting up shop in the egg aisle of a local grocery store. The store graciously made room for the new enterprise by throwing out all of the Beyond Meat™. "Shout out to Joe Biden for providing much-needed employment for loan sharks like me," said Payday Loan Center franchisee, Dirk Greedsniffle, while lighting a Cuban cigar and flicking grocery dust off his bright blue pinstripe suit. "By wringing every penny out of vulnerable families, I'll be able to afford eggs myself!" A young mother then approached the shiny, oak desk of Greedsniffle and took out a short-term loan with a reasonable 75% interest rate, compounded daily, then carefully placed a single egg in her shopping cart and, ever-so-gently proceeded to checkout. At publishing time Republican lawmakers had proposed a bill aimed at helping working-class families who suffer from rampant inflation by providing Payday Loan Centers in every home. So let's get back to the serious stuff: This guy asked ChatGPT to write a worship song and I'm afraid Hillsong and Chris Tomlin are gonna be put outta business by John Knox Jan 30, 2023 · NottheBee.com If you don't think that an AI program like ChatGPT could seriously replace people in creative industries, then you haven't been paying attention to what's been coming out. In the latest example of ChatGPT being pretty much indistinguishable from reality, this guy prompted the program to write a worship song that could apply to Jesus or a boyfriend, since that's what most modern worship sounds like. The result was pretty much exactly what you hear in most churches Sunday mornings. Okay, maybe it's not EXACTLY the same. But, honestly, this is scary close to what you see coming out of the CCM and worship music industry today. Vague, almost romantic, lyrics that don't mention God by name and focus only on what God can do for you. In other words, this could put the entire modern worship music industry out of business. But it's not all bad news: Now, THIS I can get behind: This technology is really very fascinating. And every day it's getting smarter and smarter. The first website has a big problem to be displayed here... I didn't manage to display it completely, but from what I could understand from some of the sentences displayed, they seem to be pro-abortion, poor guys... I am against killing babies, period, so this site is right not to be displayed as it should be, probably out of shame they hide... maybe the communist site is trying to scare the readers... so I couldn't see your article at all! The second site displays correctly, but here they say it's "cruel" - "to deny women full control over their bodies" as MAGA's would like... so cruel not to kill the babies??? The world is turning upside down... Maybe it's time for people to turn away from this fear propaganda... to wake up... I'm really well inoculated against the propaganda, really... "The ADHD diagnosis and its treatment were almost singlehandedly invented by one brilliant researcher, Dr. Keith Conners. I say “almost” because he had a famous mentor, Dr. Leon Eisenberg, who helped the young Conners get recognition for his early work. Let’s start with Eisenberg. One of the most influential psychiatrists of the 20th century, he was quick to regret his role in promulgating the ADHD diagnosis and soon distanced himself from Conners’ use of stimulants in children (Eisenberg wisely distrusted the subjective judgments of teachers on what was going on inside a child’s mind, and asked whether it was the teachers, and not the children, who needed psychiatric help). Eisenberg further denounced both the influence of Big Pharma and the “dreadful” childhood ADHD diagnostic process shortly before his death. As towering a figure as Eisenberg is, however, he is peripheral to the story. The real driving force behind ADHD was always Conners. He devoted his entire career to it and is universally acknowledged as “the Father of ADHD.” He created the diagnostic criteria, pioneered the use of stimulants, and spent decades traveling the country popularizing his ideas and training other doctors in how to diagnose and treat ADHD. And then, towards the end of his life, he finally took a step back and saw he had created a monster. He realized, painfully, that he had been an unwitting pawn of Big Pharma. He encountered, too late, the horrible stories of minds ruined, lives destroyed, by the medicines he popularized. He ended his career not promoting ADHD, but denouncing it with passion, apologizing for his work on behalf of pharmaceutical companies and calling the state of ADHD in America “a national disaster of dangerous proportions.” Yes, a national disaster. Unlike my introduction, that was not from a hypothetical conference, but a very real one. You can read Conners’ whole tragic story in former New York Times reporter Alan Schwarz’s fascinating book ADHD Nation: Children, Doctors, Big Pharma, and the Making of an American Epidemic." - from here: The Dog That Barked - ADHD: A Warning Unheeded: https://gaty.substack.com/p/the-dog-that-barked by Adrian Gaty Dec 2, 2022

LOVE Vasko Kohlmayer Oct 12, 2022 "Dear Readers, I have not posted anything in some time, because I needed to take a break from writing. I felt quite drained, and I also needed to devote some time to family matters. For the paid subscribers, I paused billing some time ago so they should not be charged for the time I’ve not been posting. (You are, of course, free to unsubscribe at any time.) I have been following the news and latest developments, and it is quite obvious that the world is not well at this time. In any case, sooner or later I will resume writing and throw my two cents into the mix. In the meantime, below is a little poem I wrote the other day. In a peculiar way, somehow it feels proper for these troubled times. LOVE Love is the thing that we all seek, Love is the tongue the angels speak, Love is the soul’s eternal thirst, Love is life’s last and also first. Love is the force that drives it all, Love is the heart’s most earnest call, By love we God’s promise seize, Love is the lens through which God sees. Love is what gives the heart its grace, Love is the matrix behind space, It is love that dresses Earth in air, It is love that makes living fair. Love is the secret of life’s bliss, We do not live if love we miss, Love is the glue that binds us all, Love is the cure that heals the soul. On throbbing love this cosmos stands, Love is the pulse of the universe, Love is the wellspring of all being, Love is the secret of right seeing. Without love no joy rings true, Love is God’s most telling clue, Love is God’s most precious dealing, Love is what gives life its meaning." NAVY UFO RADAR DATA & FOOTAGE May 27, 2021 In 2019 US Navy warships were swarmed by UFOs; here is RADAR footage from that event series. BACKGROUND This footage was filmed in the CIC (Combat Information Center) of the USS Omaha on July 15th 2019 in a warning area off San Diego by Visual Intelligence Personnel (VIPER team). This RADAR data release shows four clips; multiple unknown targets (and one civilian vessel). Some of the unknown targets drop off RADAR in this footage. This happened numerous times throughout the UFO encounter series. At the height of the contacts - there were at least fourteen unknowns observed at one time. The event series reached a crescendo with one of the unknown targets entering the water at 11pm. No wreckage found. None of the unidentified craft were recovered. This is corroborative sensor data demonstrating a significant UFO event series - where unknowns were swarming US Navy warships. This type of cross-platform information verification is both unique and rare in the pursuit of the UFO mystery. This Giant Bird of Prey Is the Largest Eagle on Earth With Talons Bigger Than a Grizzly Bear’s Claws https://www.theepochtimes.com/this-giant-bird-of-prey-is-the-largest-eagle-on-earth-with-talons-bigger-than-a-grizzly-bears-claws_4998457.html BY MICHAEL WING TIMEJANUARY 29, 2023 For a bird named after a horrid beast from Greek mythology, this raptor of unmatched power and majesty is pretty incredible. The “harpy eagle” was so named because of its resemblance to the chimerical harpy—storm spirits with the face of a woman and body of a bird who carried dead souls to the underworld, Hades. The harpy eagle is the largest eagle on Earth and certainly the most powerful. Its first known documentation was in the 10th edition of “Systema Naturae” by Carl Linnaeus in 1758, who dubbed the bird “vultur harpyja” after the mythical beast. As we shall see, its moniker is well deserved. This bird is big. Bearing slate-black feathers on its upper body and white feathers almost entirely covering its lower half, this avian has been measured at total lengths of 2 feet, 10 inches, to 3 feet, 6 inches; with wingspans from 5 foot, 9 inches, to 7 foot, 4 inches—that’s wider than most NBA players are tall! The raptor has a grip so strong it can crush bone and kill its prey in an instant. It shows no fear around humans and certainly commands our respect. (CARL DE SOUZA/AFP via Getty Images; Dmitrii Kash/Shutterstock) A male harpy eagle, born and raised in captivity, flies toward its trainer for food at the National Association for the Conservation of Nature (ANCON), near Panama City. (ELMER MARTINEZ/AFP via Getty Images) A harpy eagle screaming. (Dmitrii Kash/Shutterstock) Although they are not known to prey on humans—yet show no fear of humans either—harpy eagles are said to pick off livestock on rare occasions. It is advised to pay them considerable respect, as one reportedly almost knocked a BBC cameraman unconscious on one occasion. Moreover, with harpy eagle populations diminishing due to hunting and logging, they are considered critically endangered in Mexico and Central America making them all the more worthy of our respect. Conjuring creatures from Greek mythology, while likewise inspiring Mayan civilization and even a “Harry Potter” character, the harpy eagle is a true wonder of our world. And for now, its awesome beauty continues to live on, inspire, and amaze us. Read more on the link above, please...

Thank you VistaLover for your wise explanation with the interesting details... I do as you say: I accept without blinking an eye that DCB won't make this site for me - it's their loss. I can get the bad fonts like in your first screenshot when I disable uBlock. But with uBlock enabled, the fonts are as in your second screenshot, whether I have fonts enabled or disabled. To make it easier on the eyes, I use the Owl addon (Owl - Dark Background by tk) v2.2.8 in Basilisk Moebius, which darkens the background. And I confirm that 360EEv12 (based on Chromium 78) won't let you render this site, but that's okay with me - I just use it sometimes for testing...- 2,340 replies

3 Ways ChatGPT Will Change Infosec in 2023 OpenAI's chatbot has the promise to revolutionize how security practitioners work. ChatGPT took the world by storm after OpenAI opened it for testing on Nov. 30, 2022. For an industry calloused by years of largely unsatisfying AI and machine learning "innovations," the reactions have been quite telling. Like many who are excited by its potential, I believe this is finally the moment of clarity for how truly revolutionary AI can be for information security. It's also quite sobering, as there are already countless examples of how it changes the game for black hats of all stripes. In one of the first proofs-of-concept, NYU professor Brendan Dolan-Gavitt used ChatGPT to exploit a buffer overflow vulnerability. Other examples include writing malware with lightning speed and crafting convincing, grammatically correct phishing emails. The weaponization of AI within cybersecurity is not new, but what excites me the most about ChatGPT is its potential for closing information security's biggest gap: the lack of sufficient talent, in both breadth and depth of cybersecurity skills (i.e., specializations). To illustrate this further, here are three ways ChatGPT will change infosec in 2023.... MORE: https://www.darkreading.com/vulnerabilities-threats/3-ways-chatgpt-will-change-infosec-in-2023 This link doesn't work in DCBrowser (with cookielaw.org allowed in uBlock...), could you confirm that, please?.. 360Chrome all working good.

This Island Appeared Out of Nowhere, With Life Forms Never Seen Before Nature 27 January 2023 By Russell McLendon View from the summit of Hunga Tonga -Hunga Ha'apai island. (Damien Grouille/Wikimedia Commons/CC BY-SA 4.0) When a new island arose from the South Pacific in 2015, it created an unprecedented opportunity not just for geologists and volcanologists, but for biologists and ecologists, too. The appearance of a new island offers a chance to learn about how ecosystems begin, starting with microbial pioneers that colonize new land like this, before plants or animals show up. Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha'apai island (Hunga Tonga) didn't stick around for very long – after it was formed by a volcanic eruption in 2015, it was destroyed by another eruption in early 2022. During the seven years it existed, however, the island revealed some interesting secrets. In a new study, researchers report evidence of an unexpected community of microbes on the island that metabolize sulfur and atmospheric gases, similar to organisms that occupy very different habitats: hot springs or deep-sea hydrothermal vents. "We didn't see what we were expecting," says microbial ecologist Nick Dragone from the University of Colorado. "We thought we'd see organisms you find when a glacier retreats, or cyanobacteria, more typical early colonizer species – but instead we found a unique group of bacteria that metabolize sulfur and atmospheric gases." Dragone and fellow researchers collected 32 soil samples from the island, on surfaces ranging from sea level up to the crater summit, about 120 meters (394 ft) high. They then extracted and sequenced DNA from the samples. Plants colonized the island fairly quickly after it formed, probably thanks to seeds in bird droppings, but the researchers focused their collection efforts on unvegetated surfaces. They found bacteria and archaea in all their samples from the volcano's cone, although those microbes were less diverse than microbes from nearby vegetated areas – and very different....
