  1. I have actually seen this issue as well. It is actually very rare. I saw it on an HP machine recently. The machine was about 3 years old. I have no idea why it wouldn't work. It would get to the Starting Disk... then it would just stop. I tried DVDs and CDs. All of them worked unless they were using bcdw. Very Weird. I have also seen issues with chain linking too many bcdw loader files.
  2. Here's an odd request from the maker of this tool... Can someone upload this program somewhere for me? I lost it. Thanks.
  3. As long as you will never install windows from within an existing windows... or you will never create a Multiboot disk... then you don't need those files. I don't think recovery console relies on them either... but I haven't tested it. I would recommend keeping the FloppyFiles.* sections though.
  4. I can provide hosting for any OEMLogo files and inf files.
  5. I am finally releasing v1.5 to the public. It is still a beta... but it is on the borderline of a Release Candidate. It seems pretty rock solid... but I would like some more testing before I make a RC. Everyone is welcome to check out the Beta release thread that I have been working on for quite some time. I moved it into the public area of the forums here: http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=142 some of the great new features are: 1. Recompression Plugin... which allows you to recompress your updatepacks/addons to help with the speed of your integrations by pre-compressing files. It is useful if you do many integrations. 2. Add Switchless installers as addons by simply selecting the exe file. It will automatically place your switchless installer into svcpack and svcpack.inf. 3. txtsetup.sif optimization. It Alphabetizes some of the areas of txtsetup.sif to help with speed when installing windows. 4. All of the bugs with spaces and symbols in paths should be fixed now. 5. My latest an favorite addition is the new Driver.cab cacheing! Now for those of you that do many integrations you can use cacheing of driver.cab. It will do a regular driver.cab recompression and copy the driver.cab files for later use. Next time you do an integration with the same OS edition (IE: Home or Pro) plus the same UpdatePack and version... then the integrator will simply copy the driver.cab file to your destination instead of recompressing it again. This is the lengthiest portion of integrations... so cacheing it is awesome! 5. Now some sections of your entries files can use a special variable: @PLUGINS which will reffer to the integrators "Plugins" directory. This is useful if you want to use external files during your integrations, copy, move files to and from the Plugins directory and so on. 6. You can now do updates for the WPI plugin... 7. much more new stuff... I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY!!! There was soooooo much work put into this one. This is by far the biggest update the integrator has ever gotten. v1.5 has been re-written 3 times. All of the core code structure has been re-written over and over and tested for a very long time.
  6. There is a better way. Windows XP PowerPacker uses a method of creating duplicate setupldr.bin files and modifying them according to what winnt.sif file you would like to use. This makes it so you can use multiple winnt.sif files with each pack instead of having an entire pack for each winnt.sif file. Try Windows XP PowerPacker and study what it has done. It is actually pretty simple once you figure it out.
  7. This issue is fixed in v1.5 of the integrator... which I will hopefully be releasing soon. v1.5 has been completly re-written to take advantage of the latest benefits of autoit development. It is fully compatable with vista and has some really cool new features. Basically that error was caused by the way I was doing md5 hash checking. I don't know if it had to do with some sort of memory leak in vista or what. but I completly changed the method of md5 hash checking and now it works smoothly. There have been so many changes in the code for v1.5 that it has been going through extensive beta testing. I want to try my best to work out any bugs before releasing it to the public. Anyone who wants to beta test is welcome to sign up at http://siginetsoftware/forums and request to be added to the beta testers forum. It would be an honor to have you there prathapml. Thanks for everything you have done for me in the past as well.
  8. Sorry I have been pretty busy and haven't popped in in a while. I have confirmed your bug with XP Home and I fixed it for RC10. I also fixed a couple other minor bugs as well. You can expect RC10 very soon.
  9. I have looked everywhere for an answer to this and I can't find anything. I have confirmed that there is an incompatability with vista and modifype. I can't beleive that I am the only one to have found this? Does anyone know of another way to modify the pe-checksum of an edited file so that patched xp files can still work on an xp installation disk?
  10. I am having trouble using modifype.exe on my vista ultimate x86 laptop. It keeps saying Invalid parameter. I know my coding is right cause it works fine on any xp system I run it on. modifype uxtheme.dll -c Anyone else experiancing this? Is there another alternative? Thanks
  11. v0.4 is online now. And There is a link to it on BetaNews for those who do not want to signup.
  12. Once I have a stable release I will not force signups. But while it is beta I only need people who are willing to put an effort into helping the project. It is also on Betanews.com and I don't think you have to signload it.
  13. I don't think I'll ever stop working on PowerPacker. It was still getting about a thousand downloads a month even though I haven't released anything in so long. So it's obviouslly still my most popular software that I have created. Of course the integrator gets a lot of downloads too... but that is because there is a new updatepack every month. I have a good feeling RC9 will become the final v1.0 Windows XP PowerPacker.
  14. What I would do is gather all of the links to the Sticky threads and create one sticky that links to the other threads. It looks much cleaner that way. Edit: The_Guy beat me to it. lol
  15. Well it is way long overdue. And it is getting over a 1,000 downloads a month still to this day. Finally a new version! Download and More info here: http://PowerPacker.SiginetSoftware.com
  16. Hmmm... according to your log files I don't see anything you did wrong. Although at the Compressing Files stage it will take a long time because there are a lot of files being compressed. In v1.5 I will be showing the files that are being compressed so you do not think it has hanged. This is caused by the updatepack having a huge amount of files to compress. You can use a tool called CVTAddon to re compress your updatepack file so that when you do integrations it will not need to do this part. It is a very time consuming area of the updatepack. In older versions of the UpdatePack the files came pre-compressed so integration times were much faster. Get CVTAddon made by: n7Epsilon! It is awsome! So there is nothing wrong at all. It's just I should have shown some sort of progress at that moment of integration because it takes so long.

    missing msvcr71.dll

I have seen the same type of error on computers before. Even on regular PCs not using nLite. All you need to do is download it and place it in system32 and you're problem should be solved.
  18. Sorry if this is a dumb question. I noticed that it looks like in WUD that it detects if an update is not currently installed on the system right? I see that most of the updates are shown in light blue color... but some (The ones I don't think I have installed) are shown in black. If this is the case... is there an unattended switch or option to force WUD to automatically download the updates that do not currently exist? The reason I am asking is I am trying to create a Maintenance program I can use with my company and I am looking for a simple way to download all needed updates and have them install automatically. Your program seems to look like the nicest looking and closest to what I am looking for to include in this maint tool. If the feature is not available... can I request this feature? Thanks. This looks very cool.
  19. I need people to betatest my latest invention. I have had many requests to create an office integrator and this is it's first initial release. I am going to try something different with this app that I have not tried in any of my others. This tool will slipstream your office hotfixes and it will then go to my mysql database at siginetsoftware.com to look for a registry tweak to compile for you to help prevent the all mighty Microsoft Update bug where it keeps asking for you to update even though you allready slipstreamed the updates. Also if people would kindly post any office hotfix entry reg tweaks that are needed to prevent Microsofts Update stuff from nagging please do so. Get Office Integrator Here: Office Integrator Download So far the database has these in it's list: Much thanks to Viva! XPero's utilities

Very cool and helpful tools Xpero! Thanks a lot!
  21. I think HJW and HGK have many plans to add to this project, It is still in beta... so it only has it's basic features ready. I would think it would work fine in a vista environment since the program was written in Microsofts own .net. I don't think it has any tweaks available for vista yet though. I agree it would be nice if there was some information about the tweaks so you would have a better understanding of what they do. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to put tooltips when the users mouse is hovering over a tweak that pops up and gives a short explanation. I can see this option being very time consuming though... adding all of the extra info. It wouldn't necissarily have to have a tooltip for every tweak... but some tweaks can look a little misleading if you don't understand what they do. P.S. congrats on making the frontpage at msfn.org!
  22. I finally got around to releasing the OEMScan Addons for v1.4.1: http://www.siginetsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117 Enjoy!
  23. That is great news. So does x64 have it's own set of oembios files or do they use the same ones as XP x86 as well? Anybody have a repository for other oembios files? I want to run some tests but I have none of the oembios sets from any of the oter systems besides x86 XP.
  24. I think a lot of people are wanting this feature to be available. As far as I know some people had progress making it possible a while back. But the method was not bug proof. There has been talks of adding direct support for BartPE in the DriverPacks Base program. But I myself have been too busy to take on the task. Bashrat has just finished his finals at school. I plan on trying to help Bashrat soon to see if we can get options like this put together but time is very limited for me at this moment and I have actually piled too many Program Projects on my table. So hopefully soon you will see some developement.
