  1. I was wrong about the pp flash and npflash components. They do not do the trick. After taking out --js-flags=--noexpose_wasm from he 360loader.ini, the new version of ruffle (07-02)starts to work, but not quite yet. --js-flags=--noexpose_wasm
  2. All options enabled in "Clean All - History & Cache Cleaner" extension. Some times it works.
  3. One final post for this week: on a clean 2006 chrome (all previous data-cookies and s*** deleted) it SOMETIMES runs with no problem. If you open it again with traces of it in the profile, it crashes mercilessly. I wonder why.
  4. It works very well, vanilla, and with the flags and extensions below. I will keep it for my browsing in heavy scripted pages, which tend to hang firefox derived builds. As I said before, I kept the folder structure in ArticFoxie's experiments (chrome ---> application ---> chrome (where i place the contents of your chrome-bin), and am able to use the 360loader.exe, whose ini I modified to include the parameters suggested by Nihira (besides the ones ArticFoxie had already put in): --no-referrers --ssl-version-min=tls1.2 -cipher-suite-blacklist=0x002F,0x0035,0x000A,0x009C,0x009D I am still playing with 2206-2250. The only remaining issue (among the apps I use) is youtube, that crashes constantly. I will report back. I haven't tried discord in XP, and would like to see if it works. As per flash, the are many movie and games places that rely on it, unfortunately. The pp and np flash folders in 2206-2250 components provided by ArticFoxie do the trick. I would prefer ruffle, but it requires work, will report back. As per DRM... I do not see a way to solve the issue if it depends on widevine, but am open to try things. Cheers! 5. In my case this did not work. I had to unzip the downloaded ruffle file, and load the unpacked (unzipped) extension. But it does not seem to work. I will try moving the npflash and ppflash folders in ArticFoxie's 2206 or 2250 into the component directory.
  6. Forgive my ignorance, but how do you install the extension from the zip provided by ruffle?
  7. For those using bleachbit 2.2.0.0, here goes a cus360chrome.xmltom xml addon to delete rubbish left over from browsing in 360-chrome. It should be placed in yourpathtobleachbit\share\cleaners\ modifying the made up path C:\Internet\Browse\Chrome\ in lines 32, 38, 179, 180, 181 to the path where your user data folder is.
  8. Ok. 2206 and 2250 in my setup work well vanilla. With addons, depending on the addons, they crash often, but mostly with youtube. In both cases I was able to come up with addon/settings combinations that work in my system, without youtube crashing, and with most top-heavy scripted pages (FB, gmail, etc) loading with no issues. But again, it is hit and miss, depending on the characteristics of different setups. The main issues is, again, youtube. I gave Humming Owl's 9.5 version another try, and it runs well and stable. Nether his version, nor 2206 and 2250 by ArticFoxie are DRM enabled. I do swear I watched part of a couple of Netflix movies in 2250 in the first run, though, although I can't replicate now. I must have been dreaming. Now, if the directory structure in Humming Owl's 9.5 is adapted to replicate the one provided by ArticFoxie, it is possible to run the 360Loader ArticFozie provided, with (I think) the settings given in his 360Loader.ini. With a vanilla default profile (at least) it is possible to simply change the content of chrome/application, shifting versions with no problem (at least in the limited testing I have done). I am now testing whether or not the registry settings in 360Loader.ini are really needed. It seems to me that they are unnecessary. 360Chrome writes the entries alone, with "wrong" data (bad language definitions and other settings, such as fixed default search engine, etc), so ArticFoxie's reg files in 360Loader.ini are necessary. PS: no need to apologize, ArticFoxie. Thanks for your efforts, and the same to Humming Owl.
  9. Mate, I downloaded it from the link you provided 10 hours ago: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vk7fkatsa27l7mz/360_extreme_explorer_13.0.2206.0.zip?dl=0
  10. With silverlight, it works in firefox52, in serpent 52, and at least until a couple of months in palemon 27 (i dropped it once roytam1 solved an issue with zotero in serpent 52). And as I said, it ran today for a while in 2250 as well, but no more.
  11. Interestingly, always on 2250, netflix played for a while, but after a while results in error M7701-1003 (https://help.netflix.com/en/node/27451), asking for widevine (when first playing without it, for a while). Another site that doesn't work is linkedin. I've got plenty crashes like the one reported by we3fan, but after a while of tweaking things around, it worked. But it is hit and miss, probably. I didn't quite follow your distaste for dropmyrights, being an effective and quite simple to use tool, nor do I follow how would you use jauntepe to lower rights, but well... I'll keep playing with 2250 every now and then and report back. Thanks!
  12. Unlike your 2250, missing english definitions, and (at least with portable settings) unable to browse
  13. I decided to give Articfoxie's portable 13.0.2250 a try, for "use in case nothing else works" or "it stalls too much in RT1 builds" purposes. It runs quite nicely on my baseline nlited setup, now testing in production. It did crash a bit while testing extensions and such, but after a couple of hours now seems stable. 2206 did not work for me, nor did Humming Owl's 9.x. One thing I would like to see -in these or other versions- is launching using dropmyrights (last link in https://www.grc.com/sn/notes-176.htm) to start with low credentials irrespective of user. It is a nice browser, almost on par -speedwise- with K-meleon. There is the issue of privacy, of course, but for script heavy sites (such as FB, Youtube and the like) it may become mandatory. Cheers! Following Nihira's recommendations in page 3 of this thread, I made the following changes in chrome flags. Only two of the ones he suggested are available in V13.0.2250 Chrome://Flags Extension Content Verification - Enforce Strict WebRTC remote-bound event logging - Disabled As per extensions, I also followed Nihira's suggestions, adding a few more. 14. There is a working Lynx build here: https://www.vordweb.co.uk/standards/download_lynx.htm
  15. Has anyone tried this build? I've tried it and works well with tor3 links. Of course, since there is no source available, there are reasons to be careful. But it is good to see that tor3 works in XP.
  16. Hi! v.0.5.5 is the version downloaded from the link you provided, back in the day. You can presumably find it in the older versions section of said page. v.1.5 is the current version, the one suggested by @Dr. Drill.
  17. Thank you @Dr. Drill. I will try it thorughly. My first try (I go for the tightest thing, always :P) has not been successful. For example, being tight I cannot login to to MSFN. @Sampei.Nihira, what say you, fratelo? Well, what is not China related, anyway?. The problem is never China (or Russia, or -do I dare to say, would they "legally" torture me for wondering so?- the USA). The issue at hand is: is it FOSS? Is it transparent? Can I check what you do? I look forward to see what your efforts on behalf of this small community will bring to a better future, @roytam1. Seriously.
  18. Try p-serv - http://p-nand-q.com/download/pserv_cpl/index.html. I have version 2,7 running since forever, and it works like a charm. I haven't tried newer versions, but would like to know if someone is running them
  19. Hi, which version of canvasblocker is currently working in serpent52? I'm using 0.55 from firefox, but I wonder if a newer one could be tweaked to install AND works. There is also the one for basilisk by feodor (v 0.2) and may move to it. Thanks.
  20. What a sad story "Frequent, but inconclusive, BSODs?". I was left wondering if he was ever able to complete a full dump. A decade gone, I can feel the pain
  21. I did, to the best of my knowledge do as instructed, but swapadd doesn't see what memory booster 1 reports. When creating the small pagefile, swapadd picks it up, but not of the size memory booster reports. So I reckon that all the performance gains (subjective as they may be) came from disabling the pagefile altogether (as @jaclaz recommended somewhere else in this forum, running exclusively on RAM). I am now trying a small fixed pagefile on a non system drive (and a temp drive runing on excess RAM) in my usual PC, and it feels more responsive. Memory booster still picks up a larger pagefile, which moves as I do stuff, but I cannot find it anywhere, with swapadd only picling up the fixed sized I'd created. Maybe something to do with Vsuite Ramdisk 1.18, downlodable from https://www.romexsoftware.com/en-us/vsuite-ramdisk/download.html. When I have a chance will test this in a vanilla system. Thanks for the feedback!
