8600gt/8500gt

i cant play BF2142 properly. me and many others get a memory.dll error when loading a map, this happens randomly. with xp x64 is works fine...

well i mean did you build the comp? or is it a dell, hp, acer, etc? if its one of those manufacturers then they usually put some basic ram in there, which may be faulty.

I don't want the "cheapest" I want the one that has the most value. Bang for Buck. What about AMD? I heard they were slashing prices since Intel released the Core2 Duo. If you want advice regarding AMD, another member is going to have to help you as I simply don't see the value in their products. have you ever owned an amd? amd's are good but not compared to the C2D at the moment. just think C2D right now.

just b/c they recommend vista doesnt mean that they are right. i personally recommend xp for games, i havnt been able to play any newer games with vista yet.

what version of windows are you using? what ram do you have? video card? are you overclocked? what are you temps like at idle and at gaming? also if fable has any game updates, install them.

well first of all your breaking the forum rules for talking about an illegally downloaded game. and second of all you didnt even give us the error, look in the event viewer for it. the error you describe is just a generic ms that really means nothing.

how do they measure idle then? you just said idle means that its off, but i dont think that the cpu is using power when its off... idle to mean means exactly what you said it wasnt, just processes going and a few apps going. if my cpu is going under 5% cpu usage, then to me that means idle. so how exactly do you measure idle?

Great u've noticed, but we are not disconnected from the world. After I have decided which parts to buy, I'll find a store who sells them... lol, I always find it funny when people from certain large nations assume the rest of the world is behind the times..(of course jokes on me being in the uk and generally being the last place to get anything...) was it not a joke? i didnt mean for it to be a joke. im not exactly sure which countries get things when. ive had many ppl tell me before that they dont have a certain part in their country yet, even though its been out for over a year in the US. so i just assumed... how are prices in israel compared to newegg? thats another thing, there may be a big difference in prices.

Okay, but why would you build a computer to leave it at idle all the time? The power consumption is most important during it's heavy usage, is it not? because most of the time it is idle, is it not? how often is your computer at full load? the only time i ever stress my computer is when playing games, which i havnt done in about 2 weeks. i have been idle since.

there are some high quality modular psu's out there now. it helps cable management and airflow alot. and alot of people are in there computer more than once... your not always paying extra for it either.

well lots of ppl have overclocked this cpu, is that just what your asking. you can google for lots of forums of ppl overcloking this specific cpu.

well your friends obviously have not heard about the core 2 duo then. intel is better than amd right now as far as performance goes.

he lives in israel... hardware may takea while to get over there and it probably costs alot more than it does here.

well as for the difference i would have to guess that the 930 has another multiplier unlocked.
