Nero Selective Nero Customised Nero Custom None tell me how to only install PARTS of Nero... now if you have a helpful response on that I would be grateful but the one you gave was about as helpful as a chocolate tampax!

I think WPI *looks* a non-starter as I would far rather select the partition/format, select the machine role (ONE or TWO) and then walk away and find it sorted 30mins later... I don't wanna have to interact other than at the start!

Thanks.. I hope I didnt annoy anyone by not looking further than nLite.. it does so much of what I want but there is always just that little bit more to do.... Now if I can just find how to selectively install some of the Nero packages... It needs a proper installer!!!

OK this is my "problem". I have 2 machines with identical hardware but differing purposes. I have a good unattended install DVD now (thanks to this place) but want it tweaked slightly to install the machines slightly differently (and don't want 2 DVDs!) Machine "ONE" I have extra software on that isn't on "TWO". Machine ONE is called ONE on the Network and TWO (well U can guess). Can I have them automatically set up as ONE and TWO on the network? If so is there a way I can identify ONE and then choose to silently install all the extras it has? Hope I made myself clear and some guru can help

Isnt the "master list" due an overhaul? It says last updated 3 months ago?? I'm sure a few tweaks are found to be invalid/non-working by now?

OK, the /QN switch works but then the program wont run as it asks for a serial but if U install without /QN it wont allow you to enter/change the serial that it shows as default?

Right.. well after much practice I have almost got my DVD sorted the way I want but I have a few small problems I need some expert help with: 1) Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 Disc Creator - uses InstallShield and installs fine with ISS file as do 3 of the 5 patches available for various tweaks to the prog but two don't. All are supposed to be Installshield (they say so!) but the two that don't work don't seem to respond to ISS files and hence don't install at all. The only difference I could find to the working patches was that these have a splash screen and no INI files. Any ideas??? 2) My CLEANUP.CMD seems to do nothing. It is called at the end of RunOnceEx.Cmd. They become read only and hence Agent won't run as it needs to amend files. I have spent lots of time reading and I think I have learned a lot of good stuff here, not just about Unattended Installs but about customising Windows with Reg hacks and so on. I know poor RyanVm has bandwidth issues.. I see one file is mirrored elsewhere (thanks) but I dont see the Java VM mirrored in Ryan's pack. I'd be happy enough to get the thing in my Hotmail and I'm not about to complain about rebooting... like it has been said I could always put it at the end of the install!

The /? didnt work for me.. and 2nd time it merely said the install hadnt finished.... I did spend a fair time searching forum this evening, much to the disgust of 'ER INDOORS "!!!

Ok so I read the guides and simple enough it seems. I now have an SP2 XP bootable CD with some tweaks. But it makes an EXTRAS directory I didnt ask for - can I just delete these now and re-image it? Likewise can I use this as a starting point for my unattended DVD ?? Looking to have a slimline WinXP, Office XP and all my usual apps on one DVD.

Great and helpful collection of tools and newbies like me WILL read but can I make my first post also a WHINGE and ask for all the dross of this thread (like this post) to be zapped so it doesnt get clogged up with 3 pages of crap??? I can tell I'll be reading for 6 weeks before I even START!!!
