Well I dont have this package but perhaps you could use Symantec Snapshot, install it and run Snapshot again to find differences (not just registry). That would then tell you what files it messes with and you can narrow down which one it changes??? Curious now as to what the program does.....

Bilou and all, I'm actually looking at this for a slightly different application (putting game installs on DVDs). I want to (without pre-installing a package like Daemontools) mount 2 ISO images, know WHICH drive letters they are and call an installer from the virtual drives. Is there such a util? In the "old" DOS days I would have used CDEmu or FakeCD (IIRC)... After install my script can install a noCD patch and unload the ISOs. ANy ideas gents?

I have the same issue (having to run NSW every time)... And I'd like my machine to Run NSW (or not need to) Share Drives C, D and E (full access) Map Drives from Other PCs as well. (and make me tea every 90 mins without using MS Task Scheduler!)

Great stuff... pity I now decided I dont need/want Recode... My Zodiac (Palm machine) wont play 25fps videos so Recode is no use....

Zilexa's method wont work with Recode etc (confirmed with Nero tech supp)... only way to do a custom installer I found was to use Symantec AI Snapshot, install Nero and NVE and then use General Clean Tool to remove all bits you DONT want. Recode needs various reg entries and DLLs I think - bah! Oh well, just Nero for me will be fine.. how do I get ShORTCUT.exe tho???

errr YES, its in the wrong thread.. it has NOTHING to do with Registry Tweaks... so basically it is spam for the people who subscribe to this thread for information. Start a new thread if you need to.... ??

Didn't know Ahead (Nero) had a support forum... didnt see one.. just a "Support Form" but thats not the same is it!!!! I might ask them how to install Recode WITHOUT NVE since it seems a tad difficult!

ZileXa's way will address your need for just "burning package and recode (with nero digital)" as for the associations - create a registry file and remove them <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Almost works.... well I did make a small muckup as the guide didnt say to put the Ahead folder inside the Program Files folder or maybe I missed that bit!! Oh and I have to enter serials in 2 locations (one in NeroVision location for Recode) but that is sussed now. Except Recode... that doesn't work properly!!! "Nero API is required but could not be found. Please re-install Nero Recode 2 using the NeroVision Express 2 installer" Hmmmm I got my Recode from NVE3!!!! If you ignore the error then Recode seems to load fine but I hate to see error messages and I wonder if it will work 100% ? [uPDATE] Recode wont work properly, might be JUST the Nero API missing or some other files.... ****!!!! Just want Nero Burning and Recode... ALMOST there!!! Any ideas where the API goes as it IS in the Nero directory?

Can someone LMK where I can get (or email me) SHORTCUT.EXE as it doesnt seem to be in my Windows dir or easily found on the net. I'd like to set the thing up using the method ZiLeXa has mentioned!!

Can this method be used for NVE for example? Also does it stop all those damned associations to Nero Showtime etc.... All I want from Nero is the burning package and recode (with nero digital)

Does someone have a REALLY working MS AntiSpyware set of files and matching RunOnceEx.cmd text? I've tried all suggested here and extracted MSI files from the original EXE and I am beggining to wonder if we have different original EXE files cos it does NOT work silently!!! This one halts my whole unatttended DVD and I hate the bugger!!!

This topic is all very interesting (basically re-jigging an install to expand and compress but add in auto-serial and silent) but how about real CUSTOM installs... I hate having Nero Showtime and its associations install. I just want, for example, Nero Burning and Nero ReCode (no Nerovision)... A way to do that would be great..... quite why Ahead cannot give us a proper installer is beyond me... They FORCE their "added value" onto us!

Nero Selective Nero Customised Nero Custom None tell me how to only install PARTS of Nero... now if you have a helpful response on that I would be grateful but the one you gave was about as helpful as a chocolate tampax!

I think WPI *looks* a non-starter as I would far rather select the partition/format, select the machine role (ONE or TWO) and then walk away and find it sorted 30mins later... I don't wanna have to interact other than at the start!

Thanks.. I hope I didnt annoy anyone by not looking further than nLite.. it does so much of what I want but there is always just that little bit more to do.... Now if I can just find how to selectively install some of the Nero packages... It needs a proper installer!!!

OK this is my "problem". I have 2 machines with identical hardware but differing purposes. I have a good unattended install DVD now (thanks to this place) but want it tweaked slightly to install the machines slightly differently (and don't want 2 DVDs!) Machine "ONE" I have extra software on that isn't on "TWO". Machine ONE is called ONE on the Network and TWO (well U can guess). Can I have them automatically set up as ONE and TWO on the network? If so is there a way I can identify ONE and then choose to silently install all the extras it has? Hope I made myself clear and some guru can help

Isnt the "master list" due an overhaul? It says last updated 3 months ago?? I'm sure a few tweaks are found to be invalid/non-working by now?

OK, the /QN switch works but then the program wont run as it asks for a serial but if U install without /QN it wont allow you to enter/change the serial that it shows as default?
