Thanks for the update, I am a bit confused by this TextGlowMode (DWORD): HIWORD and LOWORD value though, how do we set that in the registry? mrgrim, after he answers that will it be added to the configurator?

i am having a problem that started a few minutes ago with the RC2, aeroglass and effects are working perfectly, however it keeps popping up a box titled "Incompatibility issue" and asking to retry symbols downloading. no matter how many times i click Retry or Cancel the box keeps coming back. The last thing i did before it started doing that was used mrgrim's aeroglass configurator tool to change themeatlas files and reflection settings.

I Need to Confess ... Regarding Windows 8.1
truexfan81 replied to Jody Thornton's topic in Windows 8
on this machine, xp was fast altho unstable, never tried vista, 7 was slow, win8.1 feels closer to xp in performance. -
Please try it and report back, I'm sure it would be helpful to BigMuscle.

flash player is known to cause problems on any OS

do you have a key for it? if you do, just delete the symbols and restart it, it will download the newer ones that you need
-
NoelC test it tonight by using a pandora client such as Elpis, see if dwm crashes or not, i bet it doesn't.

You have to add your own reflection image via the registry setting. MrGrim will you be adding the new registry setting to your Configurator? to be more specific "TextGlowMode"
-
i agree with the above statements, this one works quite well
-
Try this: http://xxinightxx.deviantart.com/art/Aero-8-1-Windows-8-1-413881040 Thanks, that one actually works better than the one i was using

any working download link for this program? i can't seem to find one, the link on the first page is dead
-
you messed up your partition table, if the drive had critical data on it, its time to look into recovery software (do not write anything to the drive until you have recovered as much as you can) or if nothing critical, delete all partitions and start over.
-
no you cannot change the size of a partition while booted on it, use your disc director or download the gparted live cd, one thing to note however, depending on how frangmented the data is, expanding/shrinking partitions can take forever

anyone else having a problem where beta4 is not loading the CustomThemeResource? its not giving an error in the cmd window, the CustomThemeResource is just not being used.
-
ok for MaxDeviceFeatureLevel what hex value do i need to put in to get 0xb100? the instructions on the guide should make that more clear.
-
For what it's worth, I'm not having any new problems. Just make sure to put an entry in regedit for the reflection file. The one from page 7 looks great if you put a 20px gaussian blur on it. ok, i took your advice, i now have beta4 working
-
with all the issues people are pointing out, i think i'll stick with beta3 for now
-
also broken for me, couldn't figure out how to get to safe mode holding F8 did nothing, i ended up booting the install dvd and using a cmd window from there deleted the beta 4 directory, i was then able to boot and point regedit back to the dll in the beta 3 directory
