Yes, and it never will. I will not fix it. That's unfortunate, because once update 1 is released officially it will be essentially a requirement to have installed I don't think there is much new or exciting about this update, I am considering skipping it tbh, the only new thing it does worth mentioning is add the ability to pin store apps to the taskbar, doesn't seem a big deal to me as I hardly ever use them and if I have opened apps I am fine with then being listed on the left hand side out of sight. The only other big change with this update is updated support for Ultra HD monitors and I don't see myself being able to afford one of those for a few years yet. MrGrim what motivated me to go ahead and grab the update was the fact that the OS only uses 1GB ram after the update. I am running win8.1 x64, my mobo is maxed out at 4GB, so i decided that it was worth giving up glass8 for a month or so, to go ahead and get that much more ram back for games, etc to use.

update 1 broke several things lol glass8, and for startisback users the start button vanishes everytime one uses a metro app...off topic i know, but i had to say it

the only new feature is the caption text color so don't think it's worth updating for that. thats what i wanted it updated for lol

have all windows 8 updates installed, then grab the free windows 8.1 upgrade from the MS store app, it will upgrade you to 8.1 and then eventually you will get the update1 via windows update

no, and i believe that glass8 is not running, if it was, it would create a machine id and put it into the debug.log i'm not sure why it will not work, aeroglass worked just fine in win7 on that thing.

that program is old and not designed to work with newer versions of glass8, use this instead

i was also having that problem with the 1.0 of glass8, after switching back to the rc3 and configurator 2.0 all works as it should

i had too many issues with the 1.0 and reverted back to the rc3 lol

If you use the desktop shortcut or context menu shortcut it should have been running as administrator anyway, only if you click directly on the hta file will it not run as administrator. something got screwed up then because on this machine it doesn't

how can one restart or stop glass8 without logging off? task scheduler does not actually stop it, and taskkill says aerohost.exe is not running so i can't kill it that way

mrgrim i'm having a problem, i'm not sure if it is the configurator or if it is glass8...i have cleared out the themeatlas i was using, clicked apply, and for some reason even are logging out and logging back in, its still using the themeatlas i had previously configured. this is quite frustrating edit: found a fix, i have to force it to run the configurator as admin and then the changes take

few problems with the 1.0 1. there are no files where i told the installer to install it to. 2. i have put my donation.key in the location i told it to install to, and i still get the donation nag 3. it is not using my settings and themeatlas...this was all working in the rc3 4. i looked in task scheduler it is pointing to the location i told the installer to install to, not sure how it is running tho as again there are no files except the donation.key in that location edit: ok i fixed it by doing the following 1. download the 7z instead of the installer 2. delete the entry in task scheduler 3. kill all instances of aerohost.exe 4. copy the install.bat from the rc3 dir to the one i created for the 1.0, and run it 1.0 now works as expected, symbols are downloaded and themeatlas and settings are used bigmuscle there is nothing wrong with the 1.0 that i can see, the installer just needs a bit of work

NoelC i say blame it on the amd drivers, with nvidia i have 0 issues with dwm/glass8, and mine is set to put the monitors to sleep after being idle for 5 minutes

did bm ever respond to that? i'm running the rc3 now, still not clear how to set that

i will stick with rc2 until mrgrim figures out how to add the new settings to the configurator, after that i'll be happy to test rc3
